Is it possible that Saliva testing for secretor status can be wrong or be thrown off by something? I am finding I am having a hard time handling grains in any way shape or form. I have horrendous gas (just ask my kids.) and sometimes abdominal pain.
I am frustrated or could this be because I am just starting to exercise again.

I have wondered this many times. I, too, have a very hard time w/ grains and sugar. I try to avoid them now. I always think about getting the secretor test done again but just haven't.

There are people on this board who just can't handle some foods that should be okay or even beneficial. It's just all a matter of individuality.  The best thing you can do for you, is just to listen to your body. :-)    If your body doesn't like it, toss it. If you can. I know grains are hard to give up if you've been eating them all your life. :-)  It's taken me about a dozen times of feeling like I've been drugged w/ knock out drops to stop eating oats. I'm beginning to think it's going to be the same w/ rice. I may tolerate that. At least once in a while.  ;)

Yes celiac-My initial Blood test showed weak posistive, Upper portion of intestine and colon showed  no damage. 1st doctor said IBS and see a shrink. 2nd doctor said avoid wheat (and other relatives only). third doctor talked to me and asked how I felt after and what my reactions were and said I know you ahve celiac. I told him he was the first doctor to come forward and say you have celiac. It took Mar 2000 until Jun 2004 to be properly diagnosed.

Once and while with small amounts of rice is ok (1/2 cup and no more). Otherwise I avoid stuff.
