I thought it might be interesting to see the single best thing that people have experienced on the BTD and perhaps any single unfulfilled hope.

For me, the best thing is the beating of constipation by correct eating. This is not just best but BEST. This is after almost 4 years of solid adherence until recently at Tier 2 level.The only real unfulfilled hope is that my thyroid condition has not improved (hypo)

I think the single most thing BTD has done for me is kept me well.  I used to get every little virus that came along.  Okay, maybe the BEST thing is:

My best thing is that after almost 40 years of breathing through my mouth, I can now breathe through my nose.
It didn't happen over night. I have been compliant for the last 2 years and I've only started breathing through my nose in the last few months. I'm presuming that it's the anti-inflammatory nature of the diet that did it for me.
I have lots of success stories but this is the most amazing for me.

I agree with Lola; I have an overwhelming sense of wellbeing. The rest is icing. The icing includes being off all meds for asthma (being able to breathe is so important), having strong knees again, and no longer being constipated. Woo-hoo!

One word:  truth.

I remember being in almost constant abdominal pain while searching around for answers.  For a stretch there I was eating soooo much wheat, thinking that it was healthy.  Another time I was a vegetarian.  I'm so grateful to have a list of foods that are healthy for me to eat.  And from my experience it's the truth about what's healthy.  

My hope is that I become more consistently compliant.

Most important for me by eating right was lowering bp, no skinoroblems (reddishness, irritable, sometimes  outbursts of eczema) anymore, problems with left-kidney solved!

It is difficult for me to pin point 1 thing : but lots of small issue combined= being and feeling really healthy
- no more eczema,upset stomac, strep infections- no more UTI´s  and goodbye to 30 pounds :-D.

Dissapointment  :-/
The weight issue does just not fly easy away ;-)
- still needs to exercise and think - and to loose another 20- 30 pounds.

An overall feeling of being healthy, feeling great no more inflammation, depressing thoughts and down 36 Ibs!!  :) I have my physical at the end of next month, I'll report in again at that time.

I'm sorry that you're thyroid condition isn't getting better. My hypothyroidism is getting better.  I'm on less than half of the levoxyl I was on when I began and it has to be lowered again because my tsh level is still too high.  The skin problems I had are completely gone.  Blephritis, reddening of the eyelids, is completely gone and that's the one that makes me happiest, it also took the longest.  I had a touch of it last week, the morning after my husband's birthday.  I had eaten regular pasta, vegetables marinated in vinegar, wheat bread, a brownie and a few ounces too many of red wine.  I woke up (after a horrible night of tossing and turning) and looked (and felt) horrible.  Ugh.  I'd like to say "never again" but I can't.  Dh will have another birthday next year and he will want pasta, bread and lots of red.  (Hey, that rhymes!)

Remember that you can get rice pasta.  You don't have to eat the brownie.
But Os can enjoy that red wine!
I'm sure the Designated Hitter will understand.  Isn't that what DH stands for ?  LOL!

I didn't have to eat any of it!  I considered rice pasta but it isn't good with white clam sauce on it.  I do make it if I have a red sauce.  I actually didn't want to eat the brownie.  I had some strawberry bread in the freezer so I took out a piece and thawed it.  Began to eat it and realized it had gone bad.  The taste in my mouth was  horrible and the brownies were right there....

It's hard to say ONE thing unless I lump it together, which is kind of how I experienced it= crippling irritable bowel syndrome with frequent sinus pain & infections, fatigue & arthritis symptoms, 95% gone in 6 weeks. Hoping to make more progress against fatigue, now that I've learned I'm a Nonnie.

Well only a few weeks in and still not totally 100% off a very few avoids, though not the bad ones, and grain and dairy free and wow, amazing. Bowels working good every morning though have to use water and flax seeds still. Irritable bladder gone, skin better, weight going down slowly, joints more mobile and no pain now, sleeping deeper, less gas, feeling more content. I am sold on the diet after having a few worries at first. Nothing like giving it a trial.
