BTD Forums / Testimonials / And it tastes good too!

I can't beleive how I have changed. In college, I ate the typical college meals of whatever I could afford. Often time, now that I know, it was stuff I should avoid: spagetti, beef strogenoff, pizza, and breads. I also had limited energy, would fall asleep in chemistry lab (bad experiences there), I was overweight and had this awful diarrea. It got a little better once I graduated, but then I went back home to grandma's cooking of pork, spagetti and lots of heavy, flour deserts.
I was skeptical of the diet, but one of my trusted martial arts teachers recommended it, so I tried it. I'm not highly complient, about 70%, but it has turned my life around.
I no longer need daytime naps, I take martial arts classes 5 days a week to burn off the excess energy, losing alot of weight, and I'm regular. And the best thing of all, is that it tastes good. I now have trouble eating highly starch foods simply because they no longer taste good. I still crave pizza, but can make it out of compliant ingredients and load the toppings with benefical veggies. The flat pizzas look dead next to my 3-4" loaded pizza.
But even if all that never happened, I received 1 benefit that outweighs all others. My triglyceride level went from 330 to 90 in 6 months. I made my skeptical doctor a believer by example.

That's a great story. Keep up the good work. Martial arts is also a good physical & mental sport to be in.

Congratulations, XMezumiiru! That's great news.
70% compliant is very good. I'm fairly new at this too, and while I hardly eat any avoids, I still drink coffee (with heavy cream no less...! :B). I've decided not to beat myself up over it. I mean - wheat, corn and pork are far worse, right?! :P ;) And I've quit that totally! :) Actually, I've found that it's far easier to quit smoking than to quit coffee... ::)
I take it one step at the time... :)
