I thought I was healthy.
I don't smoke (never did), don't drink achohol, don't do perscription drugs, moderate exersize. eat lots of fruits and vegetables and was trying to push myself toward vegetarianism but couldn't quite.  I also gave up excessive sugar, most dairy and transfats and my weight was withing my normal range but pushing the upper limits. I have always done my own cooking as I like it....it is a creative outlet and ate out only couple times a month.  However......
I still had excessive gas and bloating and sometimes bad breath, I was putting on weight that I couldn't understand, my nails and skin were aging faster than I thought ought to be, I was not thinking clearly in the afternoons, my moods were getting more and more unpredictable (and I'm past menopause) I had irritable bowel syndrome but didn't want to go on drugs to treat symptoms, and I was finding walking harder and harder because arthritus was starting.  STill I felt I was doing all I could to stay healthy.    
I loved my lentil and bacon many other bean soups, I loved making my own whole wheat bread and cakes and buns and loved the occasional bagette or sourdough french bread.  I had a cabbage salad almost every day and I ate a wonderful bowl of mixed fruits with yogurt on top every other morning.  I also ate regularly a big bowl of cooked oatmeal with rasins and wheat germ and soy milk.  I rarely ate eggs or meat for breakfast and concentrated on the grains and fruits.  I rarely ate meat for lunch or dinner, only as flavoring in one of my homemade soups.  I used white potatoes a lot and lots of aged cheeses too.  I was very surprised when last June after a complete physical exam, including a blood test,  the doctor told me that my bad cholesterol levels were high and the good one low.  He said that I needed to "watch my fats" and move more.  I did take that advice, but real improvement didn't come til after Christmas.
   When I read the first book, ER4YBT, January 11, this year it really had a profound impact on me.  I knew it was true.  I knew it was what I needed to "tweek" my "healthy diet" to the next level.  I quit all the above avoids "cold turkey". I never went back.  I have had so much fun discovering meat and a whole bunch of other new foods.  My O body loves this.  I was protein starved all those years!  I have dropped almost 20 pounds and now hover at 138!    I never in my wildest dreams thoguht I would be this thin again in this life!  No more IBS!   My system has calmed down so beautifully and so much more efficient.  My skin is clearing up and my nails are stronger than they have ever been.  I am not feeling that early morning arthritis anymore and my energy level is much higher.  WoW!   This works!  
Interestingly, sometime in February, Newsweek came out with a feature article about how scientists were close to predicting the ideal diet for all individuals based on genetics!  Nowhere in that article did it mention Dr. Dadamo's work and the blood type phenonemon yet this is the first big step in that direction.  Did anyone else see that issue of Newsweek Magazine?  It simply validated this work and it's results.
In addition to all the good things I am still noticing, I did have another blood test done at the end of February, and the nurse was surprised and pleased with the results.  All the bad cholesterols were down and the good one up.  The doctor just said that whatever I was doing, keep doing it cause it works.....AMEN!

Joanne--what a terrific testimonial for the BTD! You are one amazing woman. Congrats for all your hard work and best of health to you! :)

I read the article you mentioned . . . not a single word about Dr. D and his work. I sent in an email regarding that lack of acknowledgement, but of course it wasn't printed. Sigh. Too bad--there are so many people out there looking for what we have, it's criminal.

It's amazing how we don't realize how poor our health was...until it gets better.  I had somebody tell me she's very healthy, because she doesn't get colds very often.  Yet, I've seen her medicine cabinet, and know she takes a great number of prescription medications...some that have dangerous side-effects, most of which could be rendered unnecessary with help of the BTD.  She continues on the path of calorie deprivation to lose weight, while I eat however much I want, yet she continues to enjoy bread and cheese, orange juice and milk, all that stuff so bad for an O.

I prefer the BTD way too :)

Thanks for that wonderful share!!
I can certainly relate to that lifestyle and belief as well as the slowly deteriorating sense of wellness, while doing "everything" possible to eat healthy foods.

I wonder how many of us have spent most of our lives eating a diet that was mostly avoids!  I did.  In fact, when I was an infant, I was weaned onto canned milk sweetened with corn syrup.  My mother was trying to be modern and was doing what she sincerely believed was best for me.  I was raised on good country cooking which gave me IBS, severly swollen tonsils, chronic bronchitis and poor posture.

When I look back on it, I am amazed how much wheat and corn we ate.  I'm sure we had wheat with every meal, sometimes it was the main dish, and the rest were various other avoids.........pancakes, biscuits, shredded wheat cereal or sometimes frosted corn flakes, toast, gravy thickened with wheat flour, macaroni and "cheese", chicken and dumplings, egg noodles with butter, home fried potatoes, baked potatoes with bacon bits, pies, cakes, cookies, pizza, southern spoon bread, corn bread with pinto beans, pork chops, glazed ham, fried chicken, gallons of ice cream.  I'm amazed that I'm still alive!!

yapers... ;D what super douper colours in those pictures... very great-love-em much ;D
I didn't realized that  massr Dr. D. is also a genious in >arts<  ;D
There are thre I'd like to put em on the walls in my own praxis- is anybody there on board which is able to download in those famous colours- please???
I'd like to make them to posters and hung up...
