Quoted from LoopsHi Christopher -
I was taking lithium orotate on and off for around 10 years - I was using the Hans Neiper Advanced Research brand which is supposed to be the most reliably 'bound'. Anyway - I found it possibly the most helpful supplement I have taken for anxiety and mood swings. Also great for social anxiety and performance anxiety (I play in a band). I found I could concentrate much better and reason with people much better. However, for me there were a few side effects - one of which I am sure of and the others I am not sure if it was the lithium. Well I really didn't sleep very well on this stuff - it exacerbated my insomnia - no matter when I took it in the day, or even with just 1 tablet. Very frustrating. Recently I was taking it I went through the worst insomnia of my life.
But note that most people have improvements in sleep on this stuff - it seems to be be a rare side effect. I am an Explorer so there you go! I react very strongly to supplements.
I also had some water weight gain on it and some bloating - especially around my face. But that is not so serious. Honestly if I could sleep well taking it I would be back on it in a heartbeat. I had no other side effects - maybe a slight headache the first couple of days. Also I found on 2 tablets a day after awhile I would get a bit 'blah' but I didn't mind as usually I am highly strung and very anxious so it was a welcome change. It seems to dampen norepinephrine so if you have the type of depression that is lethargic and non-motivated it might not work - although it does balance you out more than anything.
Quoted from Amazone I.oops ::) nope but I have had some O'clients and an A and all got tremendiously fat with that stuff... this is often taken for bipolar disorder .. ok we talk of the true stuff not the orotate or similarities as supplements.... :X ;) (sometimes even for affective-shizoid blas') I don't believe that anymore.. we need to get adjusted our mind menatlly... not by chemical bombs !!!... Would go for highest amounts of B-vits, mg, zink yep but also a bit of copper...and of course aminoacids as well ! and choline bitartate & inositol... entre-autre....(whistle)
Becomeing aware where your energies are given and not enforce typicall issues like rage etc in O's... it is that simple but while feeling: I'm this and that and have this and that... how do you think you're able to change anything in your behaviour ??) Stop cheating in eating.... be gentle with yourself and others and see how your world will change by taking yourself and others serious ;)... :D
a lot of thos blo... diagnoses are purest inventions of big pharma and lead to
get overdiagnosed and mal treatments !!! The more power you give to those... the more they go against yourself .... !!!(dissappointed)(mad)(worried)
Quoted from ruthiegirlI had very little control over my treatment when I was hospitalized. I was in NO condition to advocate for myself at that time- I don't think that anybody hospitalized for psychiatric problems really is. And there wasn't anybody else who could- the only other adults in my life at that time knew and understood next to nothing about natural healing.
If anybody had thought to get me off wheat and milk, I would have been a different person. Other "avoids" cause body pain and such, but those two foods have a great effect on my moods.
Believe me, I've learned a lot about taking care of myself and avoiding the need for hospitals and drugs.
