My Swami has changed to many foods now in the Diamond category, and many avoids from long ago in Neutral now.  I am surprised to see that some of what I used to wonder about might have been OK, even if for different reasons.  Like in the first books Blueberries where Beneficials, so I ate them for 10 years.  Then somehow they became Avoids as I developed diabetes------- but now they are neutral!!!! I agree with that finding.  I never had bad reactions from the berries and the pleasure I got was great.  So now I can have them again. Nice.  

Oils, I now have several more in Diamonds, but I think the writing about the amount has changed.  It allows one spoon 6 days a week, and just maybe, that is more correct then ever.  I started to eat oil desperately, to stop hunger pangs.. I actually eat 2-4 t-spoons a day and have changed much of my brain activities.

Eggs I am now allowed more eggs more in the amount I have eaten, a nice change.

Chicken was avoid for near 20 years for me, now it is neutral.  I still will  not make it a staple food, as only free range or homegrown chickens would be 'clean' enough.  Sis cooks the breast of chickens that are 4 times the size of old time chickens.. do you think growth hormones have something to do with the size of our kids now a day?  They are getting bigger/taller for a reason.  I will still only eat it in emergencies.  My choice.  But interesting to 'experience the change.

Macadamia are now black dot.. so now I can have them once or twice a year! The big change is in Filbert/Hazelnuts.. now Neutral!  I hated giving them up for all the many years... now I can have them guilt-free when eating them in chocolate! Guilt free!

Rice is now avoid black dot, no surprise to me, it makes me over eat and sleepy! Nice to have been right about that.

Wow, cabbage and cucumber went to Neutral!  Having some again will be a pleasure.

Pear went to Diamond!!!!! same with Nectarines.. I had given them up for two decades as avoids, but when my belly is upset then eating a pear fixes that.  Now I can have them.. great.. but tomato and Rhubarb are still avoid... Prunes I love them, they are now neutral.... Oranges Neutral??? after decades of avoiding them totally? wow

Sweet potato are Neutral and Yams Diamonds.. wow. I will eat some of them now once a month???  

WOW!  Bell peppers where avoids for so long, and now they are diamonds..  I can give up guilt for eating them.. breath out.......  

Carrot juice... went all over the place, even avoid for diabetes, but now its Neutral again.. Nice... makes me wonder though, is neutral only 4 times a year.. ?

It is time to print out a new copy and place in my shopping list.

In many ways the changes confer to what I instinctively believed.  Changing some things will be fun, but still Neutrals are still only a here and there thing.

I am happy I took a look at Swami - it was worth it for this morning at 4 am..

I have no idea... but I have not looked at it for some time..

It is a pleasant surprise, as some ideas I had are now more in sync with my experiences. Yet having been way more restrictive (in the early books before,) I am not unhappy, as many Neutrals seem to be just filler foods, nothing much to do with better health.  I don't need filling.. haha  But less guilt will be peachy.. Gosh- need to look at peaches, did they slide over also???

My guess, it is for the updates that were promised?/  

I might play around a little and add the old symptoms back in.. at some point I eliminated them, as I no longer feel them.. but add them just for a looksee.. I am happy with the progress I made over the near two decades on BTD.... and low carbs before that for some more decades...

Now I only have diabetes.. and I have hope to get rid of that... still have not much of on idea about that...  ....and 50% chance of getting Altzheimers as a result of diabetes.. Living as long as I expect- toooo long---- I need to work on those two issues to be productive in volunteer work into my 90ties...

Eating more oil will help greatly as it stills my desires- so long as I take it according to Shangri-la diet instructions.. away from food, in place of snacks and over eating.  That satiation factor is well worth the effort of setting a timer twice a day. Low cost effort of controlling cravings, junkfood (icecream) replacement and great bathroom problem solution.. (at least so far)...

Now if i find some answer for brittle nails, better eyesight to thread a needle, and better bladder control on issue since the hip surgery..I might need to try acupuncture?)-  or the new foods for aging overall .. maybe dandelions?/ Ha, I will be a near perfect 20 again?...   ;D

I'm curious as to why so many changes occurred. Might be a good idea to pore over your SWAMI settings... some strange things were happening a month ago to PC and Spring. As I recall, problems like data erasure when windows were collapsed. (Though I thought this was fixed).

Sections no longer collapse. So people are not losing new data from collapsing section.

Settings lost from when the sections did collapse is still lost.

The collapsing section feature was removed around April 18.

I agree.  Unless you changed a lot of the entries (or they changed on their own), SWAMI shouldn't overhaul your diet as you describe.  So what inputs to SWAMI have changed?

Nothing on my end..

I hardly ever change My input.  I did last year .. once trying to see what would happen if I dropped 40 pounds.. nothing changed as far as diabetes foods where concerned..

Before, I had used many entries of all the labels I had over my life time.. and again little changed, making me upset as I wanted to explore  ??) yet I am contented that by not changing, I was not making big errors..

Currently I only list Dads family diabetes as a concern.  I am less concerned with moms cancer history.

I would like to address some issues for the future but not today, for now I am still wishing to find magical answers for diabetes.  I know cinnamon is good. , but my foods don't ask for it, so I use little of it.  Same with other spices, I hardly use any, other than Cajun which I love an almost anything - containing some avoids.. I ought to make my own, just as salad dressings.. so lazy...

Decaf coffee is still a big issue, I can  not find any replacement for its taste.  

Icecream I have nearly under control.. but look forward to doing better.  
Fruit, I eat them when out of the house, so only on occasions.  At home I eat pineapple here and there.  

My oil consumption is making 'choosing' much easier.  I can wait to eat, and some times, I can chose to eat the better food.  A whole different way of life and better bathroom visits too.  What more could I want?

And now, some foods are less avoid/neutral.. life is near perfect.

After Goldie posted about her SWAMI changes, I checked mine again. There were a few changes but nothing major that mattered a whole lot to me. The ratings for a few things changed. String beans are no longer on both the superfood list AND the neutral list. Buckwheat changed a bit and some other stuff. I didn't change anything on my profile, etc.. I was glad I looked my foods over again, though, because I suddenly realized that I have hardly been eating anything at all on a regular basis on my carb list. So I had a huge spelt biscuit for dinner!! So far the gluten hasn't bothered me in the least. Maybe Chloe's James and his good feelings about food have some merit!

I have taken Gymnema 15 years ago... results not substantiated.. maybe needed a longer trial.. I need to research what it is made out of..

I like real food items better...  

The above link was extremely interesting.. a new supplement at low effort.. just buy two items and use them.. I like Trehalose and cinnamon both.  Nothing better than melted butter and a little sweet.. just enough for a treat, sin free and both in my SWAMI as beneficial, health providing too.
