I tried having one egg for breakfast for the last three days. Eggs are a super food but not a diamond. I felt groggy until lunch. I never felt groggy eating vegan. So eggs are out now. Turkey was only a a superfood and not a diamond - so 1 serving a week doesn't make much difference so I won't bother trying it. The market didn't have any seafood that looked good this week so I am back to being a vegan warrior by default. I am still taking the Warrior and A packs that I ordered. My weight just maintained when I added the eggs. I will keep you updated if things change. :)

You may not do well on eggs specifically. You also may not need a whole lot of animal products- a few servings of poultry or fish per month may be all you need.  Being "vegan  by default" this week doesn't mean you're a  vegan again, any more than one meatless meal makes me a vegetarian again!

You don't know- that one serving of turkey per week just might make a big difference in how you feel. It's worth trying at least once. I'd also suggest looking for high-quality canned fish. It's much more consistently found in stores than good quality fresh fish, plus it can be purchased in bulk and just opened up as you need it.

Eggs bother me-- I have to mix them with vegetables in an omelet in order to eat them. If I eat them sunny side up which I love I don't feel so good later in the day, but scrambled with veggies works really well. I suspect some genoharmonic thing gong on for me. I can also eat them hardboiled without a problem.

I only eat them once a week the rest of the week I eat a tofu scramble for breakfast.

Using eggs in other ways is probably better for Warriors. Making flaxmeal bread with eggs is a good choice. I have heard Dr. D spend a few minutes with people who do not eat any eggs helping them to understand that they need a few eggs and that they are good for them.

I worry about canned fish - mercury levels? farmed? how old is it? is it GMO ? and many times it has salt added to it - I am salt sensitive. I perfer fresh if I eat any. I live in a land locked state so you just have to watch for fresh fish - we have some eateries that have fresh fish or seafood. I was happy as a vegan - I loss over 80 pounds and came off diabetic, blood pressure and thryiod meds by eating vegan - so vegan does work for me. I just was tempted by some sushi and I felt refreshed after eating it and considered adding diamond seafood back into my diet. I went back and looked at my lists and saw eggs and turkey as superfoods - but not diamonds and thought I would try it. Eggs did not work for me. As far as shopping goes it is not worth it to buy only one serving of turkey per week. I don't like processed meat - deli meat - too much junk add to it and you don't see single servings of turkey fresh and it is not a diamond food. I thought about adding the diamond seafoods just to help loose the rest of the weight I need to loose. I am taking the warrior pack and A pack of suppliments right now.  Since fresh fish is hit or miss where I live - I am going to go vegan again - it works for me. I do get protien from vegetables, beans, nuts and seeds. I don't have to have animal protien - I was just trying it out after regaining my health. The sushi was delicous, but not something I will do three times a week. There are so many delicous choices out there that are diamond vegetable protiens for me. I am a happy vegan :)

All canned salmon is wild-- the farm raised does not hold up in the can.

I eat sardines and salmon from a can.

Sardines are really good for everyone.

I love fish.  It is the only animal product I crave especially if i have increased my weights at the gym.  Sardines on spelt or oat toast is my favourite breakfast, a sprinkle of peccorino or parmesean, pop under the grill & oh my! ;D (my sons thought this was a real treat when they were little)
I too can only have eggs with vegetables or feel a bit sick afterwards, a sort of heavy weird feeling :-/

Eggs can make me nauseous - unless I'm craving them.  At some point, I really feel hungry for them and I'll eat them a couple of times a week for maybe 2 or 3 weeks and feel great with them.  

Then I might not eat them for a couple of months.  I try and always keep a carton of farm eggs in my fridge because I listen when my body tells me to eat them.  They are not a daily food item for me, though.

issues with eggs could be an issue with sulfur or gallbladder. or both in my case.

Okay - most recent update - I ate some more diamond seafood at a restraunt today. Diamond seafoods do make me feel good - I did find a store - 45minutes away - one way - that has really fresh seafood - even octopus - which is a diamond I really love. So NO eggs - make me feel groggy - and not a diamond anyway - just beneficial. So I am a proud warrior not a vegan warrior. I am trying to focus on diamond foods right now. Vegan did work for me - I lost over 80 pounds and came off of diabetic, blood pressure and thyriod meds eating vegan. When my weight creeps up or maintains for too long - out of habit I will go back to eating vegan. I am finding that things I was not a big fan of before, I have taken a liking to lately. For example: I was never big on peaches, but now I am drinking peach green tea. Peaches happen to be a diamond for me. Maybe my improved health has improved my ability to listen to my body and my body really wants diamond foods. I will continue to update everyone on my progress. Oh, I am no longer taking the suppliments - I felt like a pill popper and it began to feel like I always had a pill stuck in my throat. I do take a mulitvitamin (vegan and raw) and Flax seed oil (to help lower my triglycerides). Flax seed oil is a diamond and has worked - I was 234, then 210 and last check in October 196 - so it is working. Still need to get it below 150 - but moving in the right direction. I will be rechecking my lists to make sure diamonds are my priority. I am on the journey to better health and there are twists and turns in the road :)

Woke up to a shocker, my blood sugar was up and my weight was up - I am back to being a Proud Vegan Warrior :) The seafood tastd good - but nothing tastes as good as heathy feels :)

I find it puzzling how you can interpret a change in your blood sugar and weight as meaning that a meal was not good for you a few days ago. Minor weight fluctuations probably have more to do with water retention.

DHA and EPA from fish oil/seafood are really valuable. Please consider finding another source as it is sometimes difficult to convert enough.

Also consider B12.

Also consider magnesium.

Also consider potassium deficiency.

Don't get caught up in the labels as Andrea suggested, leads to inflexible thinking.

I take flax seed oil - diamond for me - for omega 3's. I improved my health by being vegan - coming off all my meds and lost weight - it does work for me. I follow my health very closely because of my past health problems. I check my blood pressure, blood sugar and weight regularly. I do need to watch spikes - I do not want to have to go back on any meds. I had seafood on Saturday and Sunday - I get three servigns a week according to swami. I watch my portion size and I do not use table salt. At this point I do know my triggers. My blood sugar and weight were not just small bumps - but larger changes that send up red flags. I listen to my body - over the years I have become very good at it.  I don't know why so many people on this page are so supportive when I add seafood - but so negtive when I take it away. I am A+ nonie and warrior - we actaully do really well at being vegan - we are the best type for it. Even if I ate all my meat portions - it would only be one serving a week of turkey - not a diamond, three servings of seafood and six eggs - not diamonds. So even if I did add it back in - it really isn't much in the over all picture. I have so many wonderful choices in my vegetable protien catagory I don't really need three servings of diamond seafood - especially if it has negative effects on my health. How many people do you know that hav been able to stop taking diabetic medication, blood pressure medication and thyriod medication all due to following a vegan diet? Did I mention over 80 pound weight loss and not change in activity level?? Yes, I vegan diet worked for me. It may not work for eveyone, but it did work for me :)

I only see one person that even responded to your post.  I don't see that as "many people being negative"...

Personally, I am proud of the way you listen to your body and make changes in response to what you think it tells you.  I do know that what it needs can change through time as healing takes place, so I wouldn't throw any beneficial foods away for good, but definitely leave them out of the diet for a month or even several months, then try a meal including it isn't out of line...

I do wonder if seafood from a restaurant has some avoid ingredient included in the dish, so would probably buy a piece and fix it myself to do tests of this nature...  Sometimes, though, we pick the best choice when out and deal with whatever was included...

If you are wanting to closely monitor your health, I'd recommend never going to a restaurant.  For seafood, I'd recommend getting it from the purest source out there: Alaska.  I now purchase seafood only from VitalChoice.  They have 3.75 oz. cans that contain no salt which might work better for you.  My mom is a Warrior and in her prime on the BTD/GTD she thrived on tofu as her main protein source.  She'd have a little bit of canned salmon or baked cod, and that was about it for protein.  She was never a fan of eggs, and rarely had turkey or some cornish hen.  All the best to you. :)

I don't know why you would interpret my response as being negative because it is brief and I was stating concerns that I had for you. I was attempting to be helpful. Your post was brief. I do not read all posts on here nor all of your posts. Nor did I reread all of this thread before commenting other than skimming and seeing you say that you were "salt sensitive"- I do remember some kind of indecision. I may have been getting you confused with someone else who was clinging to veganism despite what her body was telling her. I also remembered something that you changed your user name previously and then I guess you changed it again.

There are things about a vegan diet that work wonderfully short term (especially one loaded with raw foods) for many folks (sometimes even our type O friends benefit greatly from that break and reset). I have seen too many vegan friends get into a dogma (when it becomes all about the animals and convincing everyone else that this is the way they have to eat or the best way to eat) and fall into ill health after a period of time. Several of the raw vegan gurus are rethinking their stance and recanting. I've had a type O who came on here when he started craving meat and understanding this way of thinking ultimately decide that he had committed to veganism. He said if he had heard about this first, he would have went with it. I still see him working on food issues and do my best to support him, letting him know he can always change his mind.

I don't have much time to put into long explanations of things. I used to do so, but I am prioritizing my time differently because I have to- so I am going more for Ms. Andrea's style. She has a lot of wisdom, but keeps it brief.

Please reread posts and assume the best intentions. I don't always get back to posts, but you can private message me. I actually read your other post and wondered what was said that upset you. Since I was the only response, I guess it was me? So I came back here to comment.

You have to do what's right for you.
Somedays I'm vegan. Somedays I'm vegetarian. I don't eat fish or dairy right now because I'm dealing with merc toxicity and I'm kind of questioning dairy in general beyond my IgG reactions. Somedays I'm all about my chicken or turkey. I have to be.  ;)

I wasn't referring to just this thread. I update my progress when I have changes that may help other people. I started back in the early 90's with the Blood Type diet - then updated when I found out my secretor statis and then went on to genotype and then to Swami. I admit I haven't followed the diets the whole time - it was on and off as I was trying to find what worked for me and all the other things that were going on in my life - moving, changing jobs, having a baby and life itself. Moving across counrty several times and all that goes along with it just didn't help my weight or my health.  At the height of my diabetes - I tried going vegan - I had read Dr. Neal Barnard's book on reversing diabetes - it worked for me. I am not saying everyone should be vegan. I am not hung up on labels. I am just saying it worked for me. It improved my overall health - My doctor had put me on blood pressure medicine because she was worrid about my kidneys with the diabetes. I was also on thryriod medicine because I was hypothyridic. Since I followed a vegan diet I was able to stop taking all those medications. My triglycerides have come down - still have a little more to go - but my health is going in the right direction. I have on sveral occasions tried adding things back in - so far it has never worked out for me. I listen to my body - which took me a long time to learn to do. I am not going to do anything to make myself go back on medication. I test my blood sugar, blood pressure and weight regularly. I know my normal fluxuations and when I have big changes. I am vry careful when I order when eating out. I had octopus - it was served ceviche style. I asked about all the ingredients. The second time I made it at home - so I knew all the ingredients. Octopus is a diamond seafood for me - so I thought it might work - it didn't.
