I am new to the forum and about to embark on the warrior journey. I don't feel like I fit a typical warrior mould as I am short in stature and of a muscly build, but I guess my blood type and other measurements tell another story. Is there anyone else who also has issues with gluten and dairy and how they managed variety in warrior diet? Thanking you in advance.

Hello there warrior in Brisbane! (i lived on the northside for about 20 years). I am so excited there are more Aussies.
I am not tall either and an ectomorph, it's the long legs and wide jaw that gets me into the warrior club. (i typed myself as a teacher in the book but swami decided i am a warrior). No gluten or dairy issues however for a time I did have heartburn which I thought was due to oats but I took the advice of the more experienced in this forum and did the digestive health protocol and haven't had the problem again :). Maybe give that a go?

Warrior here --- the more I embrace the Warrior diet the better I feel. I actually have a personal SWAMI which is a great fit.

Not all dairy is evil as a Warrior we do get a few choices Kefir, yogurt to name two.

Wheat is an easy avoid the diets provide so many other foods that I don't miss the things I can't eat.

Welcome to the journey.

Try and look at the glass as half full of the wonderful foods you can eat and not as half empty.

avoid dairy if you have allergy or sensitivity.

Heal the gut by quitting gluten (and dairy), then after a few weeks start slowly (re)introducing home-made kefir in your diet. Soon you'll be able to tolerate any dairy just fine again, that's my bet.

Thanks for the comments. I have been gluten free for 28yrs and dairy free for 15yrs. Consuming gluten normally results a trip to the hospital and dairy is like a sedative, also brings on asthma, eczema. So I prefer to avoid both at all costs.

Welcome fellow Warrior,

I want to tell you how much I respect your dedication and commitment to stay gluten and dairy free for so long. Even with negative symptoms resulting from ingesting gluten or dairy, not everyone is that self-disciplined.

My understanding of celiac is once you're diagnosed with it, you probably can never safely reintroduce it into your diet, even if you fully heal your gut, which the genotype diet and proper supplementation can assist in. However, I would think if you stick to your genotype diet and buy some good Dr. D supplements to heal your gut, you should eventually be able to tolerate a little dairy.

I have had a SWAMI since last spring and my genotype changed from Warrior to Teacher recently after adding updated family medical history and Meyers-Briggs personality test. I too have mixed characteristics, as others have, that make me a pretty close mix of Teacher/Warrior with a couple Explorer characteristics. I definitely have a Warrior head and jawline, as well as being tall and long-legged. But my ectomorphic build, sinewy wrists, RH negative blood, personal medical history, and personality parameters give me a closer association with the Teacher genotype.

FYI, I do not think the genotype calculator in the Genotype Diet Book is all that accurate for some of us. The book actually genotyped me as an Explorer with the strength test being very close to Warrior and the Teacher genotype coming in at a distant 3rd. If you're really serious about eating right for your genotype, I'd recommend buying the SWAMI. IT IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE!

To answer your question about diet, I like eating rice, millet, amaranth for grains, many different varieties of fish (not shellfish or bottom feeders), lots of almonds, pecans, walnuts, most fruits and vegetables, though a few are problematic. I eat turkey a few times a week, and eat a little lamb once a week, but I don't mind so much now not eating meat as the rest of my type O and B family get to enjoy quite a bit of meat. I know my gut feels better limiting animal protein, so I'm usually content with that.

I hope you eventually get more replies, but it is Black Friday weekend here and a lot of people are probably busy with their families shopping or preparing for Christmas.

Hi Coleen
Thanks for your response it was exactly what I was after. I have ordered the SWAMI so hoping that gives a more clearer picture as my strength tested 25pts as a nomad and only 9pts with warrior and 8pts wih the teacher.
