I need info on anemia and any advice fromm explorers who have experience with this would be great.

Its a funny story. My boyfriends cat was really anemic so he had been studying up on it for the past week. Yesterday he told me my gums were really white (one of many possible signs), I was looking pale, and my nails were all blue. I looked at my gums and he was right. They are normally pink toward the bottom and pale toward the top but I never knew that wasn't normal. I'm on my period so this is why it was so bad yesterday. I felt exhausted and spacy. I ended up eating liver, spinach, and prunes for dinner and today I feel more normal.

I'm afraid I'm severely anemic. I have had terrible fatigue and all these weird symptoms for so long and it finally all makes sense. The fact that I can't exercise without getting dizzy. Seeing spots when I get up from laying down for a long time. Passing out 7 months ago when I was on the wrong diet. Feeling like I never breathe deeply enough. Exhaustion from climbing a few flights of stairs.  I want to feel normal again instead of "my normal" which is not really that good. Putting myself on a strict iron,b12, and vitamin c rich diet

Rachel - I suffered like this for a few decades! My doctor was surprised at how low my iron was and supplementing with iron pills did not help. Also, if there is a possibility that you are celiac, anemia and celiac go hand in hand because of the damage in the small intestine, you can eat all the best foods and proper supplements, but you are not absorbing and therefore reaping the benefits. I did not eat red meat at that time also. For one and a half years now, since SWAMI I eat lamb and beef, preferring lamb as it nourishes kidney chi. If you do have damage to your insides from wheat and you want to fast track the healing process, may I suggest 2 Polyflora daily and 4 Intrinsia as well. I am doing remarkably well with this and the lines on my fingerprints are now about 80% improved. If you want, e-mail me.  :)

I am mildly anemic at times, low energy and what not.  Sometimes felt like couldn't get quite enough air and yawn a lot.

Iron rich foods help.  Dr. D says in the book that explorers should not eat as much red meat as a hunter or gatherer type (for O's).  

I like dark meat poultry and recommended poultry sources, with some servings of red meats, but do not eat it more than a few times a week usually.

Also good to eat other types of foods  recommended for explorers and do some aerobic type exercise (not anaerobic where you are huffing and puffing and can't talk smoothly:)
