Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo-
I wanted to simply say....you rock!
I've struggled the last three years with a blood disorder and because of
lack of insurance, have had to be my own health advocate. I've had to find
what foods work and don't work for my personal health challenges.
I noticed a rather large difference in my body and the way it reacted to
foods I omitted, such as gluten. Then about 4 months ago a family member had
suggested I try your "diet." Even though I had heard about you and your work,
at the time, I thought what I was doing was enough. However, after
incorporating a type A diet into my life, I can tell you I feel even better!
Of course, because of particular medical intervention I was unable to obtain, I
more than likely have residual nerve damage and other issues from my disorder.
But, because of using food as my medicine rather than my poison, I can say with
confidence, I have come a long way in healing my body. I ate well before I
became sick, but, eating foods that actually support my blood type, has definitely
So, thank you! Thank you for enabling others like myself to change their life
for the better, by accessing information you have made possible through your
Many blessings to you on your continued success in all that you do!

Quoted TextThank you so much for putting this book out. It has saved my life!
Foods were making me so ill. It was getting to the point there was almost nothing I could eat! I was packing the weight on.
Now, after reading your book, I know what to eat, what to stay away from, and why.
I am getting better. I'm losing weight, and my doctor is thrilled with the improvements. I'm so excited!
Thank you, again.
Quoted TextI learned about Eat Right from my Natural Path when I was feeling absolutely helpless about my sons health issues. I had taken him to get his booster shots prior to Kindergarten (feared into it). He has never been the same. But through the A type diet, he is no longer having the issues he was. He went from lights out to hardly ever getting sick! He detoxed from the diet and it was scary for me! He had a thick white hair like coating on his tongue, high fevers, sweating for almost 3 weeks. He was 5 then and now he is a wild 8 year old doing great. We know what we need to do if we see signals that he's eaten something not on the beneficial or neutral list ;) It has changed all our lives...now I use it for my second son he is 3, no shots and is an AB. I am just now looking into your supplements and I thank you whole heartedly for your research and help for all of our types!!

Quoted TextHello - I just wanted to Sincerely Thank you for giving me the knowledge to "Eat Right for My Blood Type". I have lost 23 pounds in less than 10 weeks and I feel Fabulous!! Everyone is asking how I lost so much weight so fast and I'm telling them all about this!
I initially tell them that it is not a "diet", it's a way of life and to me, it completely makes sense.
I just wanted to express my appreciation and let you know how this has changed my eating habits for the better. I will remain eating this way for the rest of my life because I know it's healthy for me and I feel confident that the weight will stay off!
Quoted TextI am going to be opening my own website soon. This will be an infoprenure site where I will be sharing my personal battle of dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis as week as eating for my blood type. Less than a year after getting this disease I was introduced to following your blood type diet. I will definitely be referring my readers to your website and encouraging them to purchase your books to follow this health plan for themselves. I would also like to send a personal "Thank you" for sharing your knowledge of this to the public. This has totally changed my life to the better.
Quoted TextI started the diet just 2 weeks ago,and the weight is just dropping off.I was actually able to get out of bed today!yay!(Ive had severe chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, etcetc.

Quoted TextI just registered for this site about 15 minutes ago. I was diagnosed in May 2010 with Celiac Disease via a blood test and an endoscopy. Went to my doc with stomach/chest pains and stinky gas (sorry folks!). I really had none of the usual symptoms which are diarrhea and/or vomiting. I'm Type 1 diabetic too (insulin shots) and I understand they are prone to celiac.
Anyway, I've been working pretty hard to get gluten out of my diet, and read labels to be sure there's no hidden gluten (and there's a lot of it...even in cosmetics!). The process is slow and I must be diligent...difficult for me because I like to give up easily out of sheer exhaustion or brain overload (one of the many symptoms of celiac). Even though I'm off gluten (as far as I know) I'm now experiencing symptoms that haven't really been there before. So that makes me wonder about other food allergies and if they can mimic the fatigue, anxiety, sadness, acid stomach and inside of mouth burning, blah blah blah.
I went to a dietition and she said to check out the BTD. Interesting I had the book about 8 years ago, even found out if I was a secretor or nor...but I don't remember my blood type nor whether I'm a secretor or non-secretor...damn! Looks like I have to start all over again.
So, until I get tested again, I just guessed I was Type O...the most common, just for starters (I remember being disappointed because I wasn't "special") but then thinking maybe I'm a Type A. The BIG difference for me is that one of them (is it Type O?) suggests I should be drawn to high impact exercising...NOT!!!! I'm more of a yogi than anything...tho I'm too tired to do that now.
So, I guess what I'm trying to share or ask is: If I'm off gluten...been very careful...do some of these other symptoms resemble other food allergies that the BTD might help?????
P.S. If anyone needs to talk about Celiac, you're welcome to private message me. Since I just joined site, i'm not sure when this can be done...or even when this post will show up in the forums.
Quoted TextJust to say... really enjoying following this plan (I'm Type A). Am feeling really good. Also, as an aside, I have lost the last bit of pregnancy weight (had my baby 3 months ago and had a few stubborn pounds to go) without even trying! I can't recommend this plan enough, and the support (from website and this page) is excellent. Thank you!
Quoted TextI have never understood, why some people claim that blood type diet has not enough scientific basis, or it were a fad diet. What I have read, I think ND. D'Adamo has researched this already before the publication of the first book "Eat right 4 your type" in 1996 and still continues his research and now not even alone. I have followed the blood type diet over a year and got good results despite the fact that I HAVE NOT followed it with 100% adherence, because I have mixed the blood type diet for type O, genotype diet for hunter, and also a bit low carb diet.
I almost believe, that without D'Adamo's blood type diet, I still might be a fat diabetes patient BMI over 30 when it is now between 25 and 27. Before I had a BMI about 38, so I am very happy to have found the blood type diet. I try to eat the beneficial and superbeneficial foods and avoid the avoids, even if it is not always possible as far as I DO NOT comsume the avoids on reglular basis everyday.
Quoted Text"Thank you Dr. D'Adamo...I recently read your book "Eat Right 4 Your Type"..changed diet for last 4 days & the fatigue is lifting & many other symptoms have started to dissipate..I am type O w/thyroid disease..have increased the protein which I never ate much of & I am reaching satiety faster & longer..I have cried with joy & look forward to a total health recovery...can hardly wait to drive-in to the city & buy your Genotype diet book....God Bless you & your father Dr. D'Adamo...for the first time in years I am filled with hope & promise...thank you so very much!"
Quoted TextI had to experience it to believe it: I've been taking the Fucus Plus supplement for almost 45 days now, and I've lost almost 15 pounds!! This has never happened to me before...I've loosely been using the O bloodtype eating suggestions, which has also contributed to my success. Thanks, Dr. D'Adamo!!
Yes, I have another 15 lbs that would put me at my ideal weight...there's no stopping now! Thanks for your encouragement!
Quoted TextHi Doctor Adamo -
I am very happy and enthusiastic to have found your website and all of your teories, and if I think that I have your book and bearly read, "Eat right for your type" since almost 5 years probably...., I don't know what to say.
I am studing your book, and now I will all of your website. I have a degree in Biology back from Italy, my country, where I was a Laboratory technician. You are my eroe, you are a genius, just like for "Bob" his psychiatrist, and baby step book, in "What about Bob", but don't worry I am not crazy like him! I do like and am fascinated from this type of personalities, and this is why I love watching movies like, this, or Rain Man(my prefered), or like now I am a pretty fan of the TV serial "Monk", and developing my obsessive compulsive disorder for hygiene and order even more!
I just read about my type, the type A, and ordered the basic pack; you have centered my type and personality, so it is true about this. I must to believe, and will make to believe all of the people that surround me. I am also so anxious to tell to my naturopatic who was trying to suggesting me, an italian , to avoid the wheat because of somewhat high level of gliadin antibody IgG, but still inside negative values. I understand now reading the book and the selection for blood type in the different of beneficial or to avoid food, but still I do not want to believe this. I am willing to understand that I must avoid animal protein, and of course to reduce my intake of bread and pasta, but I cannot live without!
Excuse me me if I have been so invadent and so long, who knows if you ever can read these messages, and forgive my excitement, but it's quite time that I am having all of the sort of problems, and I am so tired and exhausted being in the menopausa period too.
I can wait to start with your products and to try to follow my right diet type.
Very nice to meet you!
I am Type O, living in California and last Friday 08/27/10 diagnosed with some form of lupus (per my physician, "levels are off the chart high!") and no known symptoms. Discovered ER4YT Book ten years ago and immediately committed to change my diet and have experienced tremendous improvement. No more rashes on nose, ears, fingers and scalp. No more profuse sweating, shortness of breathe, coughing, sneezing, constipation and the list goes on.
Prior to ER4YT info for more than 20 years took alfalfa tabs and ate the raw stuff.
I truly believe that this dis-order appearing in my blood can be naturally corrected.
Quoted TextI am a Iraq (Combat wounded Veteran) I started this Lifestyle in June 2009. It literally saved my life. God bless you Dr. D'Adamo and staff.
Quoted TextHi i am following the type A diet spot on and it is working briliant. i am a professional cyclist doing 3 - 5hr of intense riding every day, burn between 2000kcal and 7000kcal a day
Quoted TextI started this new eating plan about two weeks ago, I am an A, my husbnad is an O. I have always cooked diffrent for my husband or incoorperate somewhat ate like suggested, of course I am now fine tunning and learning. I have been drinking Soy Milk for years, I am learning about other soy products. I cleaned out th...e pantry anything un open I donated to the soup kicthen. I stocked up on foods for A's & O's, I lost 6 pounds, without trying, I feel so much better already. I am regular with bowel movements. Some of you know, how uncomfortable it can be, if that area does not work well. A friend of mine suggested your eating plan. I purchased Eat right 4 Your Type, and also the pocket version for A for my purse for when on the road. I will also buy all others. I am giving away all of my other live & cook right for your type. This makes sense, I know I will stay healthy with eating right. What a Blessing, sorry I got long winded.
Quoted TextI absoultely live by the A type diet......I lost 35 pds about 3 yrs ago. Granted I do have to have beef now and again but bascially eat fish and poultry. I think cutting out potatoes and anything cabonated helped alot.

Quoted TextSo, here are the results! After one day on the ER4YT for Blood Type O I had absolutely no acid reflux after eating a meal. This was the first time in six years I could recall not feeling bloated and feeling like I had thumb tacks in my esophogas after eating."
Quoted Text"this is all so interesting to me. What was amazing to me was how the food I ate was making my body even more acidic than it already was. I can't even take vit C because of it. I was getting bladder infections monthly and was told by my doctor that I had to change my diet or I was at a higher risk for cancers...since I have changed my diet and cut out soda. Amazingly I have had no bladder or kidney infections since (about 5 yrs now) . WOW "
Quoted TextNonnies Rock! Because I love to cook and create it is great modifying and creating recipes that work for me. I think because I'm a B blood type I have quite a variety of foods I can work with. Now that I'm compliant with my diet I can afford to treat myself on occasion to a once loved "avoid" with little to no noticeable effect unless I REALLY over do it. And believe me, this is a wonderful thing because, before I had this knowledge, I felt I was quickly approaching "the other side". I just listen to my body, pay attention to how I'm feeling. There are SO many alternatives to eating what we have been trained to eat - really GOOD alternatives that taste so good and make you feel like ...dare I say it? A SECRETOR! There is also a lot of help on this forum from those who have gone before and are experiencing the same things I have. You can become healthy, strong, fit, energetic, sharp minded and enjoy life and pursue dreams you thought you could never chase with Dr. D's fabulous gift to humanity. I am!!! And I'm soooooo grateful
Quoted TextStill loving this eating plan.. I like to call it an eating plan rather than diet because for me it will be for life! :o) Have lost 32kg so far and have maintained that.. onto my next phase where I hope to lose another 10-15kg, am O rh Neg and ate mostly the Beneficial foods for the first month which boosted the weight... loss. Plus.. you can feel the difference of feeling way better and more energetic compared to lapsing back to the "bad" foods and feeling c**p! You soon learn what can trigger fatigue/generally feeling low... and how to boost your mood too.

Quoted TextHey, I just have to tell you I LOVE my SWAMI (Genotype) diet!!! I feel great on it. It's been close to a year now gradually moving myself over to Genotype-friendly foods and avoiding more and more of the not-good-for-me foods. I'm not religious about the diet, but I'm about 90% on the friendlies ;) I can feel the d...ifference when I eat things that aren't good for me, and I feel powerful and energized when I eat foods that are good for me. So, thank you so much! As a body of work, your diet and philosophy has been the best I've seen. For those people considering taking the plunge - DO IT! It costs you next to nothing, and if you're skeptical, just have your blood tested before and after. Your body doesn't lie.
Quoted TextHey guys..I'm on day 14 with this new way of eating and I have lost 10 pounds and went from a size 14 to a size 10! ALL PAIN in my joints, muscles and bones are GONE, no more neurological problems either! Pain free and loving life again...thank you Doc D'Adamo! Now to find more recipes for type "A"!! :)
Quoted TextI've lost 6 pounds in less than two weeks by eliminating the diary and wheat. I can't believe that all of my life I've been dieting wrong! thanks Dr. D'Adamo for educating me on how to eat for my blood type.
Quoted TextI find it very interesting that as an "A" I am not allowed to have tomatoes. I cut out the tomatoes and my insomnia is like non-existent....Not only that...I am not even craving them the way I thought I would. I still have some issues about what's allowed and what's not...but overall, I am really starting to feel bette...r. Everyday is a lesson. But for me the most important part is not stressing when I slip up. Cause the "A" naturally have higher cortisol levels....who needs that. I'm loving this diet and loving following it with my friend. We are having a great time texting each other back and forth asking if this, that, and the other thing is allowed...
Quoted TextI think this book is right on target. It makes so much sense. After implementing the theories 2 years ago, I've never felt better. Of course there is the occasional slip- up, but overall I feel amazing!
Quoted TextA year and a half ago I was totally broke after a business failure. I was miserable had major problems with wife and life was a total disgrace. Quoted Text"My Blood Type is an A (non-secretor). I love the foods on my diet it's everything I enjoy eating. And I'm also feeling much better with my intestines after all these years. How about that!"
Quoted TextAnother Dr. D success story: For the first time since 2004, I had to undergo a round of antibiotic treatment. I carefully followed my Warrior Receptor SWAMI plan, took 2 Polyflora As twice a day, doubled up on daily yogurt, and had no problems whatsoever with the antibiotic. I finished it last Tuesday and no problems at all. Go Dr. D!
Quoted TextHello Dr. Adamo! Thank you for accepting my friends request! I was doing a search on a famous person the other day..she had recently lost a bunch of weight and looks awesome and healthy, and I found your book Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type. I bought it yesterday and started reading it as soon as I got home..it is a very g...ood book and easy to understand I couldn't put it down! Today my life changes for the good! Thanks So Much!
Quoted TextDear Dr D'Adamo
I have been following your Eat Right for your Type and I must say that I am amazed at how great this has worked for me!
I have been treating myself in Singapore for Rheumatoid Arthritis and the doctor am treating with actually suggested that I take a full blood test and I was given a list of food and drinks that I cannot take but did not much notice of it, but when I got your book and applied it, I was so amazed. Why did I not find you 20 years ago? Am now 49, but after just 2 months, I cannot describe how good I feel.!
I have since been trying to advocate this in my small country Seychelles Islands in the Indian Ocean. Currently, I have to rely on someone going to Singapore to buy the books and products for me, which interestingly am just giving away to other people because I care for their well being and health. This is also creating quite a wave amongst the population.
Quoted TextI am O+ and have lost over 70lbs just by making smarter food choices. I have also quit having a lot of the chronic aches and pains I had before. Thank you Dr. D'Adamo!
I wanted to thank you so much for your ingenious research of the blood type diets! I've been on the blood type B diet for two months now and it is fantastic!!! I've lost 13 pounds and have more energy now than I've had in the past 10 years. Also many of my ailments have quickly disappeared including colitis, PMS cramps, joint pain, lower back pain, weak badder issues, mid-afternoon fatigue, mood swings, achy feet, heartburn, water retention, and mild rosacia. And I thought all these problems were do to age!!!! Wow!! I feel great! Thank you so much - and the doctor I had seen for colitis wanted to put me on medication for the rest of my life. I'm so glad I declined and pursued an alternative diet.
Quoted TextDear Dr Peter J. D’Adamo MD
Subject: Your Books “Eat Right 4 Your Type”
“Live Right 4 Your Type”
In August 2004 I was diagnosed with incurable cancer. I was told that I had three months to live and that I should go home and tidy up my affairs. The Oncologist said that if I decided on their recommendations to take chemotherapy my life could be extended by up to six months.
After a lot of research done by my daughters and my investigations after reading your books “Eat Right 4 Your Type” and “Live Right 4 Your Type” was that if you have cancer or any other degenerative disease you have a lot more options and choices than drugs, chemotherapy, radiation or surgery.
Next birthday I will be 80 years of age and I am happy to say that today I am a lot fitter and in better condition and feel younger than I did fifteen years ago.
Lucky some say, I call it blessed.
With your help and approval I would like to use some of your articles that inspired me and to be able to promote your books to help others like you helped me. As reading your books has in no small way played a very important part to my survival and good health and for that I thank you.
I hope you are keeping well and look forward to your reply at your earliest convenience.
Very best regards
Quoted Text"Ok, I am simply astounded by this nutritional plan. As I close out week 3 these are the marvels I've discovered now:
1. I don't have to use nasal spray at night for nasal congestion-WOW- I have used nasal spray nightly for at least 20 years. Hmmm, was it simply a dairy reaction all along?
2. I have not had a migraine in the last 3 weeks--and we had the lowest barometric pressure reading in history this past Tuesday. The change in barometric pressure was always a big migraine association for me. Could my migraines have been triggered by food instead? I'm inclined to believe so!
3. Our weather has been damp and switched from hot to cold which would normally trigger a flare of my fibro/arthritis. I have not had a neoprene sleeve on nor have I taken an Aleve!! Would my diet create such positive influence this quickly?
4. I sat with a basket of chocolate in front of me the 2 days of conference and wasn't tempted to eat it. (and didn't)
5. I managed to mostly eat right even while I was away :) I say mostly because I ate dinner Sunday night at the Cheesecake Factory and my chicken and pasta had a white sauce which I'm sure consisted of dairy (I ate as little as I could of it) I was not grievous of saying no to their cheesecake, which is to die for by the way. Previously i would seriously grieve if I felt denied my sugar!!!
Am I perfect at this yet? Nope, but I have the desire to continue and that says a lot!! I have eliminated all the avoids and a vast majority of the rarely..... I try to watch to be sure that I consume at least 1 super beneficial and 2 beneficials w/ my meals and snacks.
I am quite happy. :)"
Quoted TextI really think this type of deiting is a better and good way of living life. Just wanted to show my gratitude :)
Quoted TextI have lost 79 pounds changing my eating habits to the erfybt "o"...a great success for me ...it took 11 months to get where i am at now...I am always sharing with people how I lost the weight...most people who knew me as a heavy person cant believe its me ...Im in a good place right now...Thank You Dr. D'Adamo...I am another success story.
my story is in my blog
my before and after pictures are there...my husband also is a success story with a 40lb weight loss...this truly has changed both of our life
Quoted TextJust want to thank you. After reading your book Eat Right 4 Your Type over 13 years ago I have been a vegetarian ever since. I have always felt great, had energy and gained 80 pounds during each pregnancy and went straight back to a size 6 within 4 months after delivery and everyone asks "What do you DO?" and as always... I refer them to your books. My son has never been below 98% on the percentile charts...and yes he is a 100% vegetarian on YOUR diet.
I honestly got up to 205 lbs with each baby on a vegetarian diet and 4 months later I lost all the weight without any intensive working out, etc. I just stuck to my diet according to ER4YT, I recommend this book to everyone. It was a life changing book, my two children are also vegetarians. I cook meat for my husband who is a type O but I have left all animal protein as of 13 years ago, it really wasn't hard after I saw and felt the results. Thank you~
Quoted TextRecently I had my bladder removed due to cancer. I had intestinal absorption problems after the surgery, and became dehydrated. As I listened to what was wrong (really nothing) I remembered your book Eat Right for your Type. I came back home from the hospital and put myself on a meat diet with no bread (I don't do wheat anyway) assuming I would absorb meat best. Obviously, I am a type O.
I got home from the hospital still with major absorption problems on Tuesday and this morning (Sunday) I am having normal bowels the first time in over a month. If nothing else this certainly testifies to the truth of your book. I try to follow fairly closely, but fail some, but this has been a true life savior for me and I just wanted to thank you. N Deuel
Quoted TextFor me, there is a lot of sense in the blood type work/writing of Dr. D. I am an AB, and had intuitively been eating mostly along the BTD lines, but am doing better refining this by the book. The suggestions for lifestyle and stress issues are very helpful. I understand myself and family members much better (I am surrounded by type As)and am able to help them a bit with their health, food choices, etc. Thank you for all the super information. If I could be of any help to you, by virtue of being a somewhat "rare" bloodtype, I'd be more than happy to do so.
Quoted TextThank you so much for your tremendous contribution towards the health and wellbeing of mankind!!!!!!!! Quoted Text" I started this dietary change a little over 2 years ago. I was 25 pounds over weight and gaining. I was bloated had stomach pain irritable bowel, thyroid prob's, generally miserable, moody and had lost my zest I guess. Exercise wasn't working either. I read the book and it made sense to me. The first week i lost 10 lbs. Today I'm 25 lbs., lighter and have been told I look much much younger than I actually am.I contribute all this to my adherence to the BLOOD TYPE DIET and my will to be healthier by making better food choices. I have NEVER felt better I share with anyone who will listen!'
Quoted TextThought I should report on my progress since starting the Digestive Pack, Probiotics and now ProBERRY 3! The bottoms of my cycle are now a day or two max of discomfort instead of severely ill and a trip to the ER (for dehydration after several days of fluid loss) and horrible pains in my stomach and intestines is now moderate to mild. The Intrinsa helps the most but the combined effects of all the above is very noticeable and now I have added the ProBERRY 3 to the mix and would like to save enough for some Deflect next thinking that perhaps lectins in chicken and other "avoids" could be exactly what damages the mucos lining protecting my stomach. So the short chain fatty acids and whatnot are doing their job protecting me from high acid days. In-all a drastic improvement for the better already after only three weeks and after years of suffering! Thanks Dr D'Adamo for the fine herbal blends and advise mentioning specifics pertinent to my unbalanced (B+) condition.
Quoted TextI would like to complement you on your oustanding work. EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR OWN TYPE. THE INDIVIDULALIZED DIET. I am O . Thank you.!!!

I have been eating right for my blood type for about 6 months and I am down to 156.4 lbs since I am 5'8" I think I am getting close to where I need to be. I have lost around 39 lbs and I feel great again thank you and Merry Christmas..
Quoted TextMy blood type is B-Positive.
Thanks for a very informative book.It has changed my total outlook to health issues.I am 45 years old and I stopped training consistently in 1998.However after reading your book I started training and eating right for my blood type in June this year.My weight has dropped from 106 to 94 Kilograms and I am excited with my newfound energy which has worked wonders in improving my spiritual, physical and emotional life.
Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo,
I hope I am at the right place to leave you some feedback.
I am AB positive and have been fighting with my weight since I was 10 years old and have tried EVERY diet on record from weight watchers diet to the cabbage soup diet. My mum had a cancer scare with the appearance of some pre-cancer cells a few years ago and after treatment a doctor pointed her in the direction of the blood group diet. She was very religios about this diet she had been advised of. She had 3 pictures of her blood taken over the period of the first year on the diet. The first picture showed up a lot of white blotches and as the year got on she had another taken showing significant improvement. This leads me onto say the final picture taken showed no remnants of the previous white blotches. Consequently she felt better, had more energy and lost weight as well as worried less about the return of these cancer cells knowing she was doing something to "help the cause". Even though I knew about this a while ago I doubted the weight loss being due to the diet and also reading up negative comments on line didnt help with disbelievers making the diet seem very hit or miss. However, it wasnt until recently I found myself really depressed in which my job suffered and my relationship with my partner and parents also suffered. I had a rock bottom low self esteem, I was feeling tired and stressed constantly as well as feeling fat and lothargic. At 65 kilos I started yor diet...
I am now 53 kilos, I feel great and I cannot thank the blood group diet enough. I have loads of energy, I dont think I can remember how to get stressed anymore, I wake up feeling great every morning and feel so much happier and confident in myself.
I have ordered every book you have released relating to my group and consequently have had friends and colleagues asking what revolutionary diet I had found (other than lipo) so I have spread the word and have been introducing this diet to everyone I know even hadvising those not in my blood group. I have told people to find out their types and order their own copies of your book as they wont look back.
I am so grateful someone like you has put in the time and effort to really research what I consider to be the best "diet" in the world only its not a diet in which you need to starve to lose weight but just eat "correctly" its truly amazing. I have made this a complete lifestyle change and I dont feel like Im on a diet. I have been doing this diet for nearly 4 months and havent looked back. I have lost 12 kilos and can provide photos of this.
From the bottom of my heart I thank you so much for the books and guidance you have put onto the market I have never been happier. The money spent on your books is the best money Ive ever spent.
Quoted Text''Last year I was diagnosed with hemochromatosis, a genetic disorder that my body adsorbs too much iron (ferritin). I had to go and get weekly blood draws to reduce the amount of iron from my system. I was told I would have to do this for the rest of my life, until I came across a book ...called Eat For Your Type. I am A+ blood type and followed the A blood type diet. My iron levels actually normalized from this diet and it has been a year since my last blood draw. My hematologist cannot understand how I am keeping my iron levels down with out blood draws and is skeptical that a diet can control this. I just keep telling him you are what you eat! I think any one who shoots this diet down should try it before they have an opinion. It is also saving me big bucks because I have a very high deductible health insurance plan.''
Quoted TextI was diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. My numbers eventually went off the chart (^600). I read online about the possible connection with food alergies. About the same time I learned of your studies and bought your book. That was on March 08, 2008. Since the day I became a vegan I have never had another flare up. In fact my doctor recently told me it seems to be in remission!
I am simply writing to thank you for your research and your time spent putting it into words. It makes perfect sense to me. It is my Bible.
I found the principles of the blood type diet really fascinating and have tried the diet on and off since March 2010. It is hard; but when I stick to it I realize that my digestion is perfect, I sleep better and feel more energized. I am Type O by the way.
I think Dr. D'Adamo is doing breakthroughs in the health field and allowing so many people to lead healthy, nutritional lives ... even if sometimes is hard to stick to the diet :)
Since being on the diet since July 2010 and being very strict by it. I have lost almost 50 pounds and went from being a size 24/26 to a size 16.
Quoted TextThank you so very, very much for your book, your research and giving your life over to save so many others by sharing this profound information. I am a 45 year old African American female.
I have found found not only your information to be accurate but very helpful. I haven't felt well off and on over the last few years and did not know why. I'd eat certain things I love like hot wings (chicken) with blue cheese or peanut butter out of the jar or with apples and have eaten popcorn like crazy since I was a kid and later I feel horrible, tired, drained, etc. I never ever connected the not so good feeling later with the food. I thought it may be something else, like the water, Laugh Out Loud. Now that I am educated about my blood type I can take the necessary steps to set my body in balance. Thanks so much again for all the work you do and have done. You are a blessing to many and I pray as many people you have blessed, that you and your family, company and staff will be blessed that much more and 100 times over all the days of your life.
Quoted TextHear hear!
And note: My brother's surgery is what led him to beg me for health/diet advice. I prescribed Dr. D'Adamo's cardiovascular program, and he recovered from that surgery (in his case also double coronary bypass) phenomenally. (His mother-in-law commented to me, "He looks as good as he did when he was dating my daughter!" --- 3 months post-surgery). His cardiologist was very impressed, too.
3 cheers for Dr. D!
Also: The cardiovascular book is a treasure-trove of information about the different routes to cardiovascular disease for each of the 4 blood types... I strongly recommend it.
Quoted TextDEar Dr. D'Adamo,
I am a true believer of Eat Right for My Type. I have followed the A Diet for over 5 years. I am A and I am a survivor of Non Hodgkins Mantle Cell Lymphoma being in remission for over 5 years.
I am truly a walking miracle; lap swimming every other day and keeping very fit. Sincerely,
Quoted TextI have read EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR TYPE which has helped a lot, because I have a syndrome, whose some of the symptoms preclude a lot of the BENEFICIAL foods. I can't help smiling when I read about Type Bs (BRH ) getting (mysterious) neurological illnesses. That's me! I keep the book by the cooker. Apart from the specific eating advice, it is fascinating to learn about how types came about - I have done more reading from the references.
Bless you for the work you and your father have done. I have no doubt that if I hadn't found your book, I would have remained an invalid, wheel-chair bound, with no hope of a life away from the four walls. And I'm only 63. I found your books four years ago.
Long may you live and carry on.
Quoted TextDear Dr.D, I am a 45 year old mother of 11 beautiful healthy children.I have been following your wonderful diet for just under a year. The results are amazing. My thyroid problems have disappeared as well as arthritis.I no longer suffer from restless legs, eczema, a constant aching body, foggy brain or grinding of my teeth at night, also carpel tunnel syndrome has disappeared. my weight has naturally returned to a healthy 59kgs and I eat so much and have so much more energy.Thankyou so much for everything you have done and for giving me my life back to be a good wife and mother.
I am an O non- secretor Hunter and have been following your diet on and off for three years. I had horrifically painful and debilitating hives for two years coupled with excruciatingly painful acid reflux. Everyday for Two years!!!! I saw seven doctors and spent nearly $11,000 out of my own pocket and no one could help me! I finally went to see a gastro- enterologist who did a colonoscopy and an endoscopy which found H.pylori in my stomach and Candida albicans in my esophagus. He attributed this to STRESS! I had an antibiotic reaction thirty years ago and had a terrible thrush of yeast im my mouth and throat which I now realize never fully went away! I told him I had read your book but he dismissed it as "nonsense"! I decided to try your diet. All my symptoms disappeared within one month! I just could not believe it!!! But after two years of good health, I soon returned to my old ways and sure enough the hives and Gerd returned. And so once again I went back on the BTD and sure enough, I was once again healed. Needless to say, I am now one of your strongest supporters and talk to anyone and everyone who will hear me! I have about six family members on the diet and still have so many left to help. I have been wanting to write you this testimony for years now and tonight I finally made the time! Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing your books! You have saved me from a long and miserable existence and I am forever in your debt! Thank you. Sincerely,
Quoted TextDear Dr.D'Adamo,
For years I have read your books and have tried to the best of my ability to stay on the Type A diet you prescribe. I also work at geting my Type O husband to eat his blood type foods.
Thank you so much for the books you've written and all that I have learned from you over the years. The foods you recommend for my blood type have been one of the main things that have kept me healthy and active, now at the age of 70. I also rebound regularly, do Do-In body work on myself and meditate daily. These four things are cornerstones in my "house of health."
Sending you loads of Gratitude for all the work you've done,
Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo:
I am a sociology Ph.D. student with a B.S. in biology and medical sociology.
I am currently a graduate student at the University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame, Indiana).
Not only have I seen the results of your amazing research, I would like to help others around me reap the benefits.
I have seen my lifelong allergies disappear and my overall health is improving. I had been so sick I was having trouble with daily activities, including school. Now, I am happy to report that I do not have any of these problems. I am a living testament to your research and the benefits.
Quoted TextHi there. My name is Lori and I just wanted to thank Dr. D'Adamo for his amazing brilliance. I have been overweight most of my life and exactly one year ago I picked up his book and haven't looked back. I have currently lost 100 lbs and have probably 30 or 40 to go. It was an easy journey.....Thank you so much. I promote this book any chance I get and I will always be a walking advertisement for this amazing diet. Take care.
Dear Dr. D'Adamo,
I could just kiss your whole face off!! I started your diet around four months ago out of pure desperation. I have Ehlers-Danlos and a Chiari malformation which both limit my activity greatly. Prior to diagnosis, my doctors did many painful and experimental treatments to address my symptoms (joint and back pain, and heart being the worst of the long grocery list of symptoms). I was given a steroidal spinal injection over 3 years ago, to which I had a horrific allergic reaction. In addition to the allergy, it caused me severe and rapid weight gain. I haven't been able to lose a single ounce since that wretched thing... even after six months of 500 calories a day! I went from a size 6 to a size 14, to give you some reference. I was wearing size 36 waist jeans when I started your diet... not comfortably, at that... probably should have been in a 37-38. I just tried on my old 32's and they fit!!!! It had been so long since I'd seen myself in anything form fitting, I'd forgotten what I looked like. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. :) THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You have no idea how happy you've made me!
There's a special place in heaven for people like you!
P.S. My mom started the diet the same day and has stuck to it with me. She has gone from a size 20 pants, down to a 14, and is still dropping, as am I!
Quoted TextI work at a ladies fitness facility as a weight management consultant & find that this amazing diet helps everyone who tries it! Not just to lose weight, but to become healthy! I was able to STOP my daily asthma puffers, salbutamol & cortico-steroids, after daily use for 35 yrs. JUST by eliminating wheat & dairy from ...my existing vegetarian + fish diet! It was THAT EASY!
Quoted Texttoday is my first day of eating the right way and to make this my life style thank you people like you make you realise life is short and each person owe this to him self to live better and healthier.
Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo, I was just turned onto your site by a coincidence of a meeting with a person. I must say, when I read you Blood Type A I was astonished. I eat organic and am a vegetarian, meditator, like spiritual, calm relaxing music, prefer a quiet life style, prefer light exercise. Years ago a chiropracter told me to turn vegetarian, because of my blood type. Now I finally learned all the details why. That was over 44 years ago. Your chart describes me perfectly. I was shocked.
Quoted TextI started the BTD on January 11th, 2011 after my first visit to a natropath. I had some health issues, well lots of health issues that were taking its toll on my body. I decided to open Pandora's Box and jump in with both feet a...nd go see the Natropath (I was a virgin with the natropath)
See handed me the BTD book ( I had the same one in my closet) and said "this is where we will start.) I came home and the next day, my life changed!
I am being treated for Leaky Gut Syndrome and I also have an AI disease called Lichen Sclerosis. This was the catalyst for getting in better health, plus the constant digestive issues.
I got the results of my GI2 test today, the stool samples show 2 types of Strep (Alpha Hemolytic and Gamma Hemolytic), I also have moderate levels of E.coli. Plus my Chymotryspin is low (marker for enzyme for pancreatic exocrine output).
She has stepped it up a notch on the healing for Leaky Gut. I need to research Dr D's site for a good digestive enzyme for Type A. It appears that gelatin capsules are not working for me, they are an AVOID.
I am feeling so much better, the redness on my nose and cheeks has diminished at least 80%, I have LOST 18 POUNDS! I FEEL AWESOME!
It took a couple of weeks to give up the pepper and other seasonings, and recently I have reduced the poultry consumption to maybe 3 times a week. I can see the meat going out the window or into the mouth of my O+ hubby!
Thanks for everyone's support!

Quoted TextI wish to thank you for the two books I´ve read: Eat right for your type and Live right 4 you type witch both have opened my eyes about eating. I´m 40 years old female from Helsinki Finland and O rh- type. Right after I left weath, potatoes and corn out of my diet I´ve felt much better. My stomach is flat after day at work (it used to be like balloon!) and I don´t suffer from constant heartburn as I drink only one cup of coffee in the morning with rye bread and not in the evening anymore, instead green tea. I eat more meat and fish and so is my family: husband and two sons. Husband and our oldest son are type A and yougest type O. My husband used to be very tired but now that he eats more rye bread and not so much wheat and he is not so tired and grumpy anymore. My yougest son was even more grumpier and mean and eating right food has changed his behavior and mine too. I used to be hot-headed but now I´m more calm. I love sports: bodypump is my favourite: ) I "pump iron" three times a week and swim once. After bodypump I´m not so hungry and I feel energetic for couple of days. But after swiming: hungry and hungry for carbohydrates!
I keep various vegetables at home and eat them after swiming. And yes, I´ve always been overweight. I´ve lost weight two times 10-15kg and got it back of course as I didn`t leave wheat out of my diet. I was always hungry and tired. Now I´ve lost 2 kg just eating right food and I´m not suffering from hunger and I enjoy what I eat!!!
Quoted TextI have lost over 25 pounds of body fat, following my type O. I also have more energy, no longer have stomach problems due to eating the wrong foods and I never feel hungry. This is a very simple plan to follow along with a good exercise program you will turn your body into a fat burning machine.
Thank you Dr. Peter D'Adamo.

Quoted TextYou've said this so eloquently. Thank you Peter for your books. A daughter of a friend gave it to her dad and he then gave it to me & in over 10+ years that I'll paid attention to the blood type guidelines ...(it is really NOT a diet), I've had great health improvements. Thanks so much for your books. I've given at least 4 away as gifts, gave my kids each a small one that was about their own blood type, and heard one book was then given to the girls mother and then the mother's neighbor. You speak truth.
Quoted TextI just wanted to say how much I like Genoma Cardia. D’r D’Adamo put me on Genoma Cardia not to long ago and the results are amazing. I have been taking Genoma Cardia along with the Fish Oil Formula for a couple of months now and I feel much better with a lot more energy and strength than I did before. For a while I was attributing my anxiety to lack of physical ability and this supplement has increased my strength and endurance greatly. I now enjoy a new level of energy and with it confidence in my health and physical abilities. Of the many supplements I have tried from Dr. D’Adamo’s line of supplements I would have to say that Genoma Cardia has been the most beneficial and I look forward to taking it for years to come.
My Testimony with Lichen Sclerosis
Dr D'Adamo...I have been following the BTD since Jan 11, 2011. My naturopath recommended this diet. I had never been to a ND, wishing now I had done this earlier in my life. My MD wanted to remove my gallbladder to fix my digestive issues. One of my ND's instructors in school worked with you on research. I just wanted to say how great I feel, I have lost 20 lbs now. 90% of my digestion issues are gone. I am healing my leaky gut issues. I also have Lichen Sclerosis, this was the catalyst to improving my health.
My LS is so much better on the BTD, i am hoping to be in complete remission once my leaky gut is cleared up. BTW, I am A-, still waiting to submit my secretor test.
There are thousands of women, men and young girls who develop LS. It seems that since my dx last August that hundreds of women in their 20s & 30s are now being diagnosed.
Thanks so much for your research, this has been the best thing I could do for myself. And quite easy too. The majority of my Avoids are foods that always bothered my digestion or I never cared for the taste. Interestingly, my daughter is A+ and I could never get her to eat beef as a child, she will eat chicken or turkey.
Enjoy your day
Quoted TextKeep in mind- you change as well as save lives! If not for your site rightforyourtype.com along with your amazing books, I would have died in a wheelchair. However, I walk around like nothing ever happened, people can barely tell....After ...a bad car accident my O blood attacked, but didn't know what to attack. A year later I had excruciating pain & problems with all of my major organs slowly shutting down, as well as serious issues with my blood sugar, thyroids, I was always lethargic, @ 29 I was put on BP meds ( within a month of my "diet" change I no longer needed them). I even started struggling deeply w/ things like concentration, understanding & focus - etc. etc...the list goes on for days! I went to 80 doctors in 100 days who were all baffled. I found your site, changed my eating habits, along with chiropractor, medical massage & PT 3x a week, I am now 80% better & on my way to being an even better me! No problems with my digestion, thyroids, blood sugar, BP, understanding & focus, my energy is normal-again the list goes on & on. I also changed my children's "diet" and they have had SUCH GREAT responses! They will never have to go through what my mother, gma, sister, aunts and I have had to deal with, never knowing it was an easy fix! I never knew about antigens, food intolerance's or what in the world it meant to be an O Hunter-you made this all extremely accessible, and simple to understand! I thank you everyday in my head for your work & passion! Sorry for such a long comment but I feel compelled to share a bit of my story & to thank you all the time, this time I went for it:) Thank you for dedicating your life to such a marvelous mission!!!! Thank you! Yes, yes it is- I can't say enough about the "diet" ( I prefer life style) or Dr. D!!! With only weeks to live, I never quit & found such an easy "answer" to all of my "problems"-too cool!
i just wanted to say that this book has changed my life. i have been trying to figure out why i was getting sick from food i was eating for almost three years. doctors were of little help and my nutritionist was helping where he could, but once i made the few small changes to my diet that the book recommended (i'm type a and had already figured out slowly about 90% of what the book said i shouldn't eat) i had my first day of no stomach pain for the first time in years!! it's truly amazing! i have been doing it for three weeks now and still am so excited to feel normal again. i am so thankful for dr d'adamo and think he is a genius. i thank god for him!
Quoted TextI've known about Blood type diet since the first book was published and went along with the Type A recommendations sporadically. Then, this Spring I had pneumonia, took antibiotics, and had an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin. Itched like fire; got prednisone and it cleared up before I finished the protocol(I usually finish it all, but I was already clearing up and haven't broken out since(two and a half weeks ago.) Anyway, I now have stomach problems I suspect caused by candida(killing off all the bacterial indiscriminately). Am following Genotype Teacher and the indigestion is easing off. Last night, my hubby and I ate with friends and she served beef, potatoes, white flour rolls, peas, and coleslaw. I suffered this morning with an acid stomach and am determined to stick with the protocol. I think he is a genius, too; someday the rest of the medical community will as well.
Quoted TextThis is a great book, so far I have based my food choices from the text and have lost 9lbs in 2 weeks without exercise... I have to say this is a good resource!!
Quoted TextType O+ and have been on the diet for one week. Lost 8 pounds and ate all of the right stuff that I wanted. Thanks.
Quoted Textno cravings. My Naturapath recommended the diet for my type. Its been a blessing, lost 36 lbs., lots of lymph fluid, lowered BP, less tummy troubles, and no cravings. How much better can it get.
Quoted TextThank you for this site and for this wonderful eating plan! While following your plan I have discovered at the ripe old age of 52 that I am gluten / wheat intolerant. My whole life I had "digestive" issues and always said I had a sensitive stomach and never knew what set me off! I carried pepto bismol tablets with me always and scoped out the bathrooms everywhere I went just in case! As a type O my plan states that I should avoid wheat so I did and switched to rye. After about a week my family decided to have pizza, yay, pizza! I had two pieces and a bread stick and started feeling sick just after I finished and was sick all night long. The culprit. The crust and the bread! I am happy to say when I avoid wheat that I feel so much better! My energy is up and I have lost about 15 pounds to date. Thank you, Dr. D'Adamo, you have made my life so much better!
Quoted TextDr. D'Adamo is my hero!
Quoted TextThank you, Dr. D'Adamo.
When I was 14, in the middle of a pasta dinner, I put my fork down and with tears in my eyes told my family, "I feel sick every time I eat." At 16, I was fairly overweight. While watching a family video of my brother and myself cliff jumping at Lake Mojave, someone asked which person I was on the screen. My dad replied, "Cant you tell? He's the one with the big belly." This moved me to start the Aktins Diet, with which I lost 20 lbs and felt like Superman, eating mostly steak, chicken, eggs, broccoli and zucchini (go figure, I'm type O).
At 18, my sister gave me your book, Eat Right 4 Your Type. It took almost 3 years to implement completely. I no longer felt sick when I ate. The foods that I knew I could not even smell were listed as avoids (canteloupe, eggplant, wheat, dairy, strawberries, cashews).
Then in August of 2010 after being on the Blood type diet for about 3 years, I decided to try to slowly reintroduce wheat into my diet. The week long stomach pain was gone, but the hair falling out, weight gain, ingrown hairs, acne and depression came back. In December of last year (2010) I found your Genotype Diet book. As of January, I have been on that diet 100%, lost the 16 lbs regained from reintroducing wheat into my diet in 6 weeks, and have NO physical problems at all.
This diet has moved me to try new things which have become my favorite foods, like buckwheat hot cereal, Taro, and duck. Just because I do not eat the five non-meat/sugar staples (wheat, corn, dairy, potato, soy) of the Standard American Diet which is abbreviated SAD for good reason, does not mean that I am limited. I have a world of new things to find and try that otherwise I probably would never have heard of, or would have been afraid to try in case they made me sick. In short, I cannot thank you, your father, or your team enough for helping me make myself well after over 20 years of physical and emotional pain because of my health.
Quoted Text"Thank You, Dr. D'Adamo".
I started with the Blood Type Diet in 1996. Had mixed results simply because I did not know I was a non secretor and kept trying the diet as is.
I was in such bad shape even good quality supplements were too much for me - my body was in rejection mode.
Finally got on line and found a legitimately educated Naturopath. One of two in this state at that time and she was close by. Her diagnosis was food allergies and we started treatments. My life changed! I could now eat and was getting the benefit of the foods I was eating!
The next few years were spent improving my body's acceptance of quality food then we hit a wall where I was not improving as expected. (During these years, without support for it, I had left the diet.) One day, out of the blue, Doc. casually mentioned Dr D'Adamo's diet and wondered if it would help. That was all the encouragement I needed!
I went right back to it and then found the Genotype Diet had come out. The BTD had expanded, I had to do the secretor test! I was a Nonnie! Now everything began to make sense.
The Non Secretor Diet helped but I still had problems! The Genotype Diet labled me a Gatherer - So, guess what, this diet works, I started losing weight. But I didn't need to lose weight. I tried to get help, everyone said to eat more. I tried to eat as well as I could.
When the Swami Express came available. I was among the first. What a Godsend! It took all of my idiosyncrises into consideration and I became an Explorer. Books are limited to their content. An online program can take in so much more information before it makes it's diagnosis. Swami Express is the best, Dr. D'Adamo, thank you so much
Lola, I too, tried to go back to wheat. About a week after I had truly eliminated wheat from my diet I thought maybe I would just finish up those wheat crackers I used to love for a bedtime snack. I did, and within a half hour I was climbing the walls! Had no idea that wheat had been bothering my nervous system so much. Never again! Swami Express took every bit of wheat off my diet. I never could eat much of them but I did like buckwheat pancakes. Oh Well, other than the weight problem, I am feeling good. And that is important!
Quoted TextI am brand new to this group and just want to share with you all out there that I have been using the eat right for your blood typebook for the past 14 months and have lost 54 kilos which is about 110 lbs i think. i live in australia and spreading the word like you wouldnt believe.
Quoted TextAlways check ingredients. I was looking for a vitamin C powder & had to email the co. to ask the source. All they listed was ascorbic acid. Corn based. I am a B type, so, I won't be ordering that. I was not even aware of vitamin C being made from corn. I have found that if I cheat & eat chicken or corn that my blood pressure & blood sugar raises within 45 minutes. I have quit being nice & eating foods just because they are being served. I am nice to myself now! I love Dr D'Adamo's lists of herbs, oils, & etc. Really helpful.
Quoted TextDr. D'Adamo, I just want to thank you so very much for all your work and your books. When I first heard about the idea of eating based on blood type I thought that it was a crazy idea. Many years later experiencing some health problems I went to see a doctor who had me buy ERYT. After reading the chapter about Type O, me being O+, I really made sense. I have been using this info for the past 3 years now and I'm feeling young again. I tell people this is the first book they should read if they want to experience better health. Thanks again.
Quoted Texthi there. Quoted TextBless you ! Not only have you vastly improved my immune system and some health problems, but also completely changed the lives of several other people that I know. One a type A who did not realize that milk was the source of her terrible IBS and arthritis, and her husband, type O, who cured himself of snoring and breathing problems to the great benefit of their marriage ! I will keep on recommending friends and family to read your books and I think that this science is the way forward for the future of the human race. It has even helped me to understand my husband better (he is type O), as I am a B and I know at last why we have different likes and needs and I vary our meals accordingly to suit our different types.
Quoted TextThe blood type diet saved my life and I feel better than ever, I lost 80 lbs and my recovery ability is amazing. I had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and bicep tendon and both the surgeon and physical therapist said they have never seen such a fast recovery.
Quoted TextAmazing things happen with this way of eating... Dr. D'Adamo is my hero! " I've lost over 200 pounds combined when I lost the weight twice from your book Eat right 4 your type. You have really inspired me. Especially since I've had Multiple Sclerosis for 12 years. I've found my CURE by following your diet for type A."
Quoted TextI too was diagnosed with RA in 1980 I was put on a vegetarian diet by a naturopath . I became weaker & weaker I was given D'adamo's book ...I am O type non secretor...started eating meat again gained strength ....Everyone should at least try this diet ....so logical
Quoted TextI'm type B and have been following the BTD for 13+ years now -- I even wrote an article about it for Newsmax after I had a fascinating experience :) enjoy!
Quoted TextI absolutely love the Bloodtype eating plan. It has worked out well for my family of Type O's though giving up wheat, corn and milk was an intitial challenge for sure. My daughter has struggled the most with her allergies and weight. Wouldn't you know that she is the only Non-Secretor in the bunch? And my sister, who always ate differently than us (she is a Vegan) turned out to be a Blood Type A. The Eat Right 4 Your Type "app" is great for shopping and restaurants!
Quoted TextWhen I first started eating steaks, I bought a grain fed cow, which I later found out that it was a dairy, grass fed cow. They are the worst type of meat to eat. I later found an other farmer... and tried the meat before I purchased it and it was completely different. I was a 33 yr vegetarian who was directed by my Naturopath to eat meat every morning for breakfast, which changed my life. I know that if I don't eat my read meat now, I get depressed since my body needs the B12 from it. My blood cells were literally dying before I started eating the red meat and only after one month they were healthy and back to normal and thriving. I had to choke down the red meat and tried everything to make t taste good. and I am glad I did. I still have days where I don't like to eat it but then it depends on where I am getting it. Good luck and don't give up. Try to marinade it before cooking which can give it some awesome flavoring as well. Or if you can, eat jerky. I have a processor who makes the jerky without the vinegar and corn alternatives and is wonderful to eat.
Quoted TextI have just finished reading up on my blood type and found your information spot on. Being a Clinical Hypnotherapist I have been doing some research and your site came into this.
Thank you for such an interesting look on how our blood is another source of why we are the way we are.
Keep up the amazing findings!
Quoted TextI worried and stressed over it too! I measured and re-measured, then had my husband measure LOL! But once you get the information down, Swami creates a plan that is just for you, taking in all of your information. It is fascinating. On...ce you have the program you can go back in to it, update as you get more information, or print recipes etc. It is really very special. One more thing, a few years back, I had my DNA tested, just was curious about some things and thought "why not?" So I ordered the test, did the swabbing of the inside of my cheek and returned it Fed Ex to the DNA Lab which was out east. When I got the results back they were almost identical to what Dr. D'Adamo had written in his books about B- non-secretor, Gatherer types! The DNA testing lab had nothing to do with Dr. D'Adamo yet their conclusions were amazingly similar. That made me a believer. My own physician scoffs at the blood type way of doing things, but I honestly believer the Dr. D is just way ahead of the pack. What he is doing and has done, is much further advanced than the typical old family physician, they will catch up with Dr. D's research one day, but as for now, we are the lucky ones!

Quoted TextMy sister introduced this diet to me several months ago (April 2011) and so far I have lost 22 pounds, feel energic and more alive than I have in several years. With the Blood Type Diet I also maintain a strict portion control system. I have purchased all the books associated with this Diet and have found each to be very informative for all my nutritional needs. By using the instructions, menus, and information from Dr. D'Adamo and maintaining this weight loss that was so very hard to achieve previously, I have been able to introduce others to the Blood Type Diet and they have been successful as well. I also subscribe to dr. D'Adamo's online newsletter, which directed me to this website.
Quoted TextSwami took me from a size um. 8 maybe six in some makers sizes to a size 4 quickly, six weeks maybe. AND that was after doing the blood type diet for a while. I started teaching the diet, which really made me start doing what I was teach...ing , so really the first part is the diet... Then following it... Then the genotype, then all I really, and truly did was... Add cilantro to my salads, carrot juice when I ate cod. And it's august .. Still a size 4 petite! Just do. It!!!

Quoted Textmy brother (nonsecretor O) first ridiculed me .. then later became the only one in the family who does the diet at about 90%... got his cholesterol tested- and his doctor said:" i have no idea what you're doing- but keep doing it" :D and now that im on proper thyroid meds (with t3)- my total # is down to 183... and i eat red meat every day!!! thanku Dr D :)
Quoted TextWhen I saw the avoid list, I was giddy that I didn't "have" to eat avocados and cabbage and almost everything on the list. I lost eight pounds of water instantly, no more stomach pain or bloating or gas. My skin cleared up. 'Twas amazing. When I stray, I pay!!
Quoted TextI too have a lot to lose, but as stated in the book this diet is for optimal performance, weight loss is just a side effect. I can say in the first 2 weeks I dropped 10 lbs. also the pain in my knees is gone and I am able to go back to exercising……So I do believe this new eating lifestyle is going to be the key for weight loss. Good luck on your journey!
Quoted TextI'm writing in to tell my story. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at age 33, i was going through a stressful time in life so didn't think much of it. I was on and off medication for a few years then after having my son at 35 the doctors wouldn't let me leave the hospital without getting and staying on something. I turned 40 this year and my goal was to get fit! I was never overweight but I just wanted to try to get of the meds. I went to my health food store and overheard a lady talking about this blood type diet. It made sense to me! I bought one of your books (I'm type O) and gave myself 2 weeks! With in 2 weeks my hands (I've always had itchy hands)were cleared up! My husband was blown away! He said he's never seen my hands cleared up. Being the hunter in the family he was okay with this "diet" because we could still eat meat. My whole family is type O which makes things a little easier! We've all become used to it! My son(5) has been taken off of wheat and he can breath again! He was always stuffed up! My daughter(11) is way beyond her years in how healthy she eats now! She went to a friends house for a sleep over and came home the next day feeling yucky. She said "Mom, I need to start bringing my own food to my friends houses." She reconizes how she feels now. So does my husband, he told me when he's around his friends he's like "you shouldn't eat that!" Our mind set now is we eat to fuel our bodies! Anyway, I've been working with my doctor and an N.D. and we've gradually taken me off the medication! I'm so happy and I credit alot of it to this diet! Which I believe is not a "diet" but just a healthy way of eating! Thank you so much! I have alot healthier AND happier family!
Quoted TextI just want to say that I am your classic A blood type and all my favorite foods give me horrible heartburn and now I know why! Your site is the very best on the whole internet! I have to get used to eating differently but in just 2 short weeks I have lost 7 lbs.! Hopefully I will lose my bulging belly (5'4" and only 140 lbs. with a big belly and skinny everywhere else)
I just wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for this site and for it being free! I've learned so much... GOD BLESS YOU!
Quoted TextI have your books which changed my life when I had typhoid and I bless you work. Thank you
Quoted TextThank you for the books you have written. I am a Canadien, female, 29 years old with an O positive blood type. I remain active as a tree planter and with lots of biking in the off-season. I suffered from pain in my upper abdomen for years as I eat a vegan diet. I noticed a great improvement in my health when I started with the recommended diet from the book, "Eat Right For Your Type". With your most recent book on the market I have noticed that some changes have been made. Sincerely,
Quoted TextI'm a( B-), I changed my lifestyle in February. I'm 48 yrs old and never felt better in my life! Good luck to everyone.
Quoted TextAs a vegan, when I was much younger, I exercised like a fiend every day and that was the only way I didn't have to fight my weight. After seven babies, I discovered btd and the weight issues are not issues anymore and I don't exercise like that. Avoiding the avoids were the ticket to my weight issues! It's amazing.
(I'm an O.)
Quoted Text"Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing the Blood Type and Geno Type diets to light! I've been reading your ER4YT and LR4YT books for years, and just recently read Change Your Genetic Destiny. This book has helped me tremendously!
I'm an AB+ who suffers from gluten intolerance, and has had parasite infections in the past, but now knowing that I'm a Nomad, I've incorporated the Nomad diet into my life and it's amazing how great I feel in just a few days. Western medicine did little to help me when I was at my worst, and all I can say is thank goodness for a very special homeopathic doctor who was instrumental in my healing. I will never, ever be without your book. :)"
Quoted TextMay not be much help b/c I'm a B. Saw a 90 yr old @ a Snr Center who looked like Jaime Lee Curtiss. She told me "ER4BT". Dabbled on-line and lost 15 in 6 mos and never missed a bite or broke a sweat. Finally bought the book. Wrote in the margins, took to grocery story and live by it w/ my 'A' husband. It goes everywhere with me. Read the book again and again particularly testimonials and find new info every time. You can do it! Mom's Dr's and Pharmisists ask me, "would you give me the title again/". I prefer Dr. D'Adamo's and his father's work to others. xoxoxo Hope a Happy O steps-up! Cannot find this book in used book stores, folk don't part with them.
Quoted TextGreat Type B testimonial: "Thank you!
I am seven weeks into eating for type B and I barely recognize myself. Every part of my being has improved, including things that I thought could never change. After playing sports every season as a kid, suddenly I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds. That has all changed and I have more energy than ever. I'm sending the link to this home page to a friend of mine who is battling various illnesses and I hope it works as well for her as it has for me. I am certain that I can't go back to pizza and pasta. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to leave my B diet. Thank you for helping so many people. I for one, feel that I have averted certain death.
Quoted TextOur journey: I found Dr. D'Adamo's books by accident about 5 months ago by doing a google search about blood type compatibility for giving/receiving blood. The search engine said something about a blood type diet, which I had never heard about. I bought and read the 3 Blood Type Diet books and the Genotype Diet book.
I'm a B+, who thought I was a Nomad, following the Advanced calculator in the GTD book for about the last 4 months. Last month I took the secretor test (I'm a non-secretor) and purchased the SWAMIxpress software and it told me that I am actually a Gatherer and blended the ER4YT diet for B's with the Gatherer GTD lists. I am having much better results. At first I just cut way back on my wheat, corn, chicken and tomato intake and that made my stomach feel better than it has in a decade, but I wasn't losing weight yet. I regularly (6 times a week) walk on hilly terrain with my dog for 30 minutes each morning, but never lost that much weight and had a hard time toning my middle section. (I'm 31, 5'4" and about 140 lbs. I have a good amount of muscle, just a chronically "pudgy" middle.) I was also developing aching knees that made it painful to use stairs. About a month ago, I cut my dairy intake to follow the SWAMI lists. This last week, I cut my intake of processed sugars and tried eating just one serving of beneficial raw whole fruit and 1 oz. of dark chocolate daily to help cut cravings. I've lost almost 5 lbs. (now 135lbs.!!!) and I'm feeling myself slimming where I usually don't...right around the middle, and my knees feel much better!!!!
My husband is an O-, he took the secretor test and is a non-secretor, also. SWAMIxpress told him that he was a Hunter. (He is 37, 5'10' and about 172lbs.) He lost almost 7lbs. (now about 165lbs.), and the "spare bike tire" around his waist, almost immediately without even exercising much, but starting to follow his SWAMI diet lists. He would "burn out" from the stress at his job very easily, had a hard time sleeping and had chronic migraine headaches and body aches. His chronic migraine headaches and body aches have all but disappeared, he's sleeping better, and he's got enough energy to start exercising again. He used to eat yogurt every morning with bran, just to try to become regular, but it always made him feel worse. Took away the gluten and dairy (including the yogurt and bran) from his diet and his gut is definitely getting better.
We've started moving our 11-year-old son's diet to the GTD Explorer profile since he's a B-and the GTD book said he was an Explorer whether he's a secretor or not. Big difference for him as well! I VERY HIGHLY recommend the GTD book and SWAMIxpress!!! It has greatly helped us all in our own individual ways!!! Thanks so much Dr. D'Adamo, and keep up the good work!!!

Quoted TextEat Right for your Type gave me immediate results with acid reflux and allergies. I no longer am taking prescriptions drugs for my symptoms. Since O blood type people have an enormous amount of stomach acid, DGL & bladderwrack are great supplements for preventing heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux, H-pylori, and promoting weight loss (bladderwrack). As long as I eat the beneficial & neutral foods I'm fine.
Quoted TextProof Blood type diet works.Sinus problems all my life, surgeries & antibiotics. 1998 ENT surgeon suggested allergies. Yeast and mold. Breadaholic & ate moldy food . Got allergist's diet. Friend said that is Type A diet, too. It was. Also eliminated gastric upsets! No sinus problems except seasonal. Dr James Braly says thousands lost weight eliminating delayed onset food allergies. ENT office confirmed! Type O cannot eat corn or gluten, daily fruits & vegs. Ancestry counts
Quoted TextHi, I'm a 50 year young female who's fairly active, stresses on the little things but has a passion for life. (I care too much) I've had long history of stomach disorders ranging from Gastritis, Gastro paresis, Hiatal hernia, Esophagitis and Iritable bowel syndrome. I've had a cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, apendectomy, bleeding disorders, Low levels of B12, tonsillectomy and bilateral hernia repair only to find the pain that I've experienced was still present post the numerous surgeries. After the experience of poking, prodding and dozens of tests, I've opted out of 99.9% of prescribed medications. Recently I went to a Dr. in Cool California for a recommendation. The Dr. at the Cool medical clinic looked at my records and instantly said "You're blood type is O correct"? I confirmed her observation and was surprised that she would know my blood type without knowing anything about me. She recommended your book to me and suggested I start eating for my blood type. After seeing her I went to my Gastroenterologist who is now ordering a small bowel Xray this week. In the meantime I've bought your book and started eating for meals for Type O blood. In one week I've slept without taking Tums that live on my night stand, I don't have the bloating and pain that was having in my bowels with the exception of the Esophagitis which I think needs to heal.My attitude has changed, my energy level is where it should be and I have you to thank!
Quoted TextI started the BTD for health reasons..but started getting on the scale and was amazed. I have been on BTD for atleast 8 years and have lost 150lbs. What I found was it was a steady loss. It took me 2 years and in that time because I was losing at at a steady rate, I had MUCH less skin. not even enough for surgery. I could have ofcourse for my stomach due to C-sections before the weightloss, but BTD has a wonderful way taking care of that. Remember truly BTD is about health, the rest will take care of itself.
Quoted TextI have just been told about Oil Pulling. I am AB blood group and the two oils recommended are to be avoided on the AB diet plan.
I do want to thank you for the diet it has helped me recover from cancer and also with bowel problems.
Quoted Textdear dr. D'Adamo,
I was given a food table by my GP (a list of foods to eat depending on blood type) and found the foods that i ate for my type, worked wonders and now i feel like a different person.
I love the concept and seems to have worked very well for me.
Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo
Thank you very much for making this website. I am a mother of three children, and I have been suffering with stomach problems for over five years. In over the past five years Ive had multiple surgeries to help with my stomach problems that I feel now may have not been necessary. After reading this information I feel hopeful that maybe with a change of diet and exercise it can be better for me. I am AB positive. After reading this it described almost everything I have dealt with. Once again thank you very much.
Quoted TextHi, I live in India,I've been on BTD since almost 5yrs. Personally, this has worked wonderfully for me. I'm highly thankful to Dr.D'Adamo for his novice research that has helped millions. God bless him.
Quoted TextGood Morning, I have blood type O. I have noticed that chicory is a super beneficial veggie. I was wondering about chicory used as a coffee substitute?
Also, my husband last year was having blood sugar issues. His A1C was 13.2. We found out about your program and started using it. His A1C a year later is now 5.5. Thank you for your time and research and may God richly bless your practice,
I must say that the first time I read the book, I thought, gee, it actually makes sense. But, how can it? So, nothing changed. The past few years the IBS symptoms have gotten unbearable. So, I said, this is it, I have to do something. My GYN doc said cut out gluten, I started following your book. First day, I lost 5 pounds of water-my legs were not swollen at the end of the day. How is that? 40 years of swelling, gone! In one day. I have not taken Imodium-I had been routinely using 3 in the AM, 3 in the PM-in a week-How is that possible! I will NEVER go back to the cramping, gas and pain of my previous life. Thanks for your time and breakthrough!
Quoted TextI can not thank you enough for providing the blood type diet...I have been following it for just under a week and I feel fantastic. For months, I had been feeling a great amount of fatigue, especially in the afternoon. Now, I have energy and feel much lighter...my body is happy!! I feel as though I got my life back, which is invaluable...thank you, thank you, thank you!
Quoted TextDear Peter,
I want to thank you with all my heart for the amazing health improvement to my body during the past 4 years. The blood group diet was a starting point of improved bowel functions and blood circulation. However, my following of the swami diet since June has been so wonderful in all aspects of my digestive system that I feel like a new person.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Quoted TextFirst I want thank Dr. D'Adamo for the research and knowledge he shares with us...I have all the books and love reading them.. I started this new way of eating to my blood type and feel wonderful... My blood pressure went down and I lost weight within the first four weeks... I didn't start the diet for weight loss. I started it because it made sense of how we should be eating... The first two days I was less bloated... I feel a unique satisfaction as I enjoy this new eating journey... For 30 years I read health books in regards to cooking and health benefits... When I got married I changed my eating habits to my husbands liking.. Well I gained weight, blood pressure went up , blood sugar went up... I was in a pet store and mentioned that eating with my husband has changed my health and I had to go back to eating healthier. An employee mentioned the book by Dr. D'Adamo.. I went to Borders book store and read alittle and knew right away this is what I wanted in my life.. The knowledge from these books is priceless. So now I continue to base my love of food on eating right for my blood type A.. Thank you
Quoted TextIt is a good thing I live in the south and not up north around Dr. D!!!! I would be arrested for trying to give that man a hug & a kiss every morning. It is so wonderful that when my feet hit the floor first thing in the morning they no longer hurt. I haven’t had joint pain in 2 months….Dr. D’ you rock sir!
Quoted TextI have been on the"Eat Right 4 Your Type" plan for over 20 years. I live and breath it and share with people who have used it with wonderful results. I was in a serious accident July 2007, In and out of hospital about 3 years. Head injury etc. The food they forcd me to eat caused adverse reactions, as you can imagine, and I know slowed down my healing process. This last year I am back on the plan and healing rapidly. Thank You for that.
Quoted TextI believe in you.
Quoted TextFirst time, I've heard of Dr. D'Adamo diet approach last year in Europe, and was given his book. I am happy to report that while making some dietary changes he recommends for my blood type, I've seen huge improvement in my health. I used to get nose bleeds daily, and since I started using vitamins and supplements recommended for my blood type, this condition has completely disappeared, as well as my allergies are reduced by about 90%. So, if you have any health concerns, it is worth trying it
Quoted TextMY FAMILY HAS BEEN FOLLOWING THIS DIET FOR 2 MONTHS NOW. WE ARE ALL ENJOYING IT SO MUCH. WE HAVE ALL EXPERIENCED MORE ENERGY AND MY HUSBAND HAS LOST 15 LBS. THANK YOU

Quoted TextI have been referring everyone I think of to this wonderful book ever since I first found out how great it was...never seen such true, honest, good nutrition advice before! All the years of Dr D's research that went into this book was well worth it!! Thank you again, Dr D!!
Quoted TextI have been on the O blood type diet for 11 years, I am 71 years old and never felt better in my life. All of my blood test levels are great. On blood pressure medication but taking off a few more pounds should take care of that. Have a great and blessed day...God bless
Quoted TextI would like to find out how to become a practioner. Your
book saved my life and I would like to help others.
Quoted Text"Not a day goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars that I discovered the BTD.
I've lost track now but I think I started around 8 years ago. I work in an office of around 400 people with all the sickness that implies. And I just float through it like a free agent, rarely succumbing to a bug, and if I do, knowing that my immune system has the goods to fight off anything.
The only thing I miss is the great leaps in health you get when you first start on the diet. Now I seem to have reached a plateau of good health that is the new normal.
But who's complaining"
I started the BTD June of 2005 and have been pretty faithful in eating mostly beneficials and neutrals. I have indulged in avoids when feeling sorry for myself and each time I do I pay for it. I'm sure now that summer is coming I will indulge in some Rita's gelati's but will restrain myself for as long as possible. I'm no saint but let me tell you...I firmly believe that the BTD is my life-long way of living and I'm so grateful for Dr. D and all you folks on this forum and for my friend Deb who owns the HFS here in Easton, Pa.
I survived flu season without a shot, picked up a small something that subsided in 2 days, which use to take months to go away. I can now use public facilities without wondering what disease I will go home with (to know me is to know I caught everything in sight and out of sight).
I would like to give a special thanks to Lola and Don. Many have been very helpful over these months but you both have extended yourselves with lots of care and understanding and never any sarcasm during times of concerns, too many questions and dumb questions. Oh yeah, questions that were already asked and answered.Again, thank you all!
For those just beginning, hang in there! This too can work for you.
Quoted TextType O GT4 Explorer, off potatoes, wheat and dairy almost 2 months. First time the weight has just fell off! Also, joints of fingers are not sore anymore. This is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Now...if I could just get my daughter and granddaughter on board!
Quoted TextI have been on my blood type diet for over three years. (A - became a vegan Mar 2008. I put my severe RA into remission. Thank you so much for you book. It is my bible.
Quoted TextSo very grateful for dadamo's blood type work!! I am a B blood type and you have saved my life and helped me grow younger. I am a non-secretor variant and cannot tolerate anything soy.
Quoted TextFollowing the blood type diet has led me to a destination I was not certain I would ever reach. It has been 14 months since I was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. The day I stepped foot back home a new battle slowly began to crumble my life beneath my feet. Mentally and physically my service was building up an unstoppable downward spiral resulting in only one option looking more clear as each day passed.
The research that has been completed for the Blood Type Diet so far has equipped me with a new set of tools to help me repair every aspect of my life I cherish now more then ever. I seek to become involved with this research to contribute all that I am able.
Quoted TextHello and Thank you, Dr. D'Adamo! I have been eating right for my blood type (A) for about 6 years now! It was a yoga teacher who first turned me on to Live Right for Your Blood Type.
I am healthier and happier than I have ever been and I KNOW it is because of the foods that compose my body. I have been a certified yoga instructor for a little over a year and anytime a student wants to talk about nutrition, eating right for their blood type is one of my first suggestions. I was excited when I came upon your website this afternoon and wanted to take the opportunity express my deepest gratitude for your dedication, hard work, and love.
You and your guinea pig family :) are forever in my heart,

Quoted TextI have stated the eat right change of lifestyle a couple of years back. I claim to be a 75% due to liking many of the things a type A should not eat, but i don't want to eliminate them 100% from my life...and even doing that much i have never felt so alive and awake for years! I am a healthy woman who has taken care of myself, but as i aged i was becoming lethargic and got hospitalized due to chest pains..so i searched you out and starting eliminating items from my diet, which I thought were healthy for me and ate more of what you said was healthy for me, and i feel young again! and people tell me all the time i look 45, and I'm 56! my skin beautiful! so thank you!
Quoted TextI kept sinus infections so bad that the infection moved into my jaw bone. I went through three different antibiotic treatments and none of them worked. Once I started the ER4YT diet my chronic infections left and the bone infection cleared up. Now when I have dairy or wheat I have serious reactions to them.
Quoted TextI just love the Blood Type Diet! It has been very beneficial for my husband, and my health. I wish I could learn everything about it, and become an expert in all the information about it. Thank you for doing this research and writing the books, and preparing all the products. I just wish everyone would believe it, and do it, because they would feel so much better.
Quoted TextMy husband is type O. He urgently needed to lose 25 Kg. as the weight started to affect his health some years ago. He followed Dr. D'Adamo's diet for blood group O religiously for a few months. In particular, during the first time he only ate foods from the Highly Beneficial lists, not even paying too much attention to the amount as he ate those foods till he did not feel hungry. We found that choosing foods only from the Highly Beneficial lists makes your metabolism faster. Do not forget, though, that type O needs a high expenditure exercise pretty often e.g. running as it makes a big difference. During the first two months under the new regimen it was difficult to recognize him: he had lost a lot of weight, had a nice skin, felt a lot of energy back and those health problems that he was starting to suffer from are only a memory...It might be a bit difficult to get used to it at the beginning but after you will see the results you will not want to go back to your old food habits. GOOD LUCK!
Quoted TextFor everyone beginning this diet-all I can say is do you best. All you can do is all you can do and it is enough. The first 12 months, I focused on subtracting avoids as well as adding beneficial foods. All my health problems went away and about 20 lbs. The second 12 months because my physical condition was better, working out, sleeping schedule became consistent, compliance higher, and I lost another 40 lbs. I was elated with my first year's results and each year got better!
Just a note to tell you what a change your book has brought to our lives! We changed our diet June 1st of 2011.
I have spent most of my adult life trying to lose unwanted pounds and have tried every diet that came along from Weight-Watchers, Adkins, South Beach, high protien, low protien and more and nothing seemed to work.
When I read your book, everything made sense!
I'm blood type A and I realized nearly all the things I was eating was wrong for me!
I have also been trying to recover strength and health after an extensive bout with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever which nearly killed me and had left me with extreme fatigue and frequent relapses.
The first 2 weeks was pretty rough and I realize now that it was probably de-toxing from a lifetime of improper eating.
At 1 month on the new eating plan, I realized I feel GREAT! So far I have lost 30 pounds without being "food-obscessed" which is mandatory with ALL other diets and weight loss programs.
I feel better than I have in 15 years! My husband is also following his food plan and has lost most of the extra weight he carries around his chest and belly.....and he has energy again. ALSO NO MIGRAINES since starting the new food plan!
So far I have given away 10 of your books and just purchased two more and the Cancer book on Ebay.
We both sing the praises of your food plan and want to thank you for having the courage to go against the flow and publish the truth about foods!
I hadn't realized how much of the American diet is CORN or corn based until after reading the book! It's no wonder that the average American is 30 pounds overweight and dealing with all kinds of health issues!
Thank you thank you thank you!
Your book has changed my life for the better!
No ammount of praise is enough compared to giving me my health back!
Quoted Text'I started the BTD for health reasons..but started getting on the scale and was amazed. I have been on BTD for at least 8 years and have lost 150lbs. What I found was it was a steady loss. It took me 2 years and in that time because I was losing at at a steady rate, I had MUCH less skin. not even enough for surgery. I could have of course for my stomach due to C-sections before the weight loss, but BTD has a wonderful way taking care of that. Remember truly BTD is about health, the rest will take care of itself.'
Quoted Text"2 weeks in ( to my blood type diet) and my RA is not noticeable. My Urticaria is only demanding antihistamines every other day and my Eye Pressures have dropped from 38 to 24. So happy."
Quoted TextI changed my life by eating right for my type. No more meds, no more depression, just good feelings and love of life. If we could get people to follow we would only need emergency medicine not treating man made diseases. I really believe this to be true. Pass it on.
Quoted TextI feel my best when I ERFYT. I had some healthy issues last year. I had abdominal pain. I had so many test done. No one could figure out what was wrong. A friend suggested that I purchase your book. I did after three month the pain disappeared. I have better digestion and lost 8 pounds without trying. I strayed every now and again. But 98% of the time this Type A+ ERFYT. Thank you and God Bless. When i count my blessings I count you twice.
I want to thank you for the work you have done. Eating right for my blood type has been the best change I have ever made to my diet.
Thanks again for the work you do!
Quoted TextI finally gave up black tea and sauces that have wheat in them. I've been hyper-vigilant and have been feeling great!! It was the tea, stevia (which is sadly an avoid for me), dates (which I had no idea were avoids for me till I learned I'm a nonnie), and incidental wheat that I was unaware of that contributed to my feeling blah so often. I bought some Yerba Mate tea at the suggestion of some other Os here and now I really like it. Green tea is growing on me if I squeeze some lemon juice into it. I'm even using agave and it's not messing with my blood sugar AND I am not bloating from it like I thought I would. I always bloat when I have honey or other sugar but the agave is totally fine. Dr. D is a genius. I am sleeping through the night, very deeply, too. I love this way of life. It's great!!
Quoted TextI read the "Eat Right" book in January, 2011 during a time that I was not feeling well physically. I was dealing with more health issues and was extremely overweight. I made the decision to try this eating plan for one month beginning February 1st. I had tried everything else. If it didn't work after one month, my plan was to go back to my old eating habits. At the end of January, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I discussed this eating with my physician and its suitability for my new diabetes diagnosis. He did not have any concerns and gave me the o.k. to proceed as I was planning along with his prescriptions for diabetic medications. At this point, I have lost between 70 and 80 pounds and have been able, with the direction of my physician, to stop all of my diabetic medication. I continue to monitor my blood sugar levels daily and am very pleased with my continued success in managing my diabetes with my new and improved eating plan. People see the changes in me physically because of my obvious wet loss and increased energy levels. I have told many people about the "Eat Right" book. I know of a couple of people who are following the plan today. The book I used is in our local library. I refer individuals to the library to check it out for themselves. I just wanted to share my story with you. I am not at my goal weight but I am very excited about the progress I am making with my health. By the way, I do not call this a diet. I think of diets as something short-term. I call this my new eating plan and new way of life because it is a change of lifestyle for me. Please express my appreciation to Dr. D'Adamo for sharing his knowledge with all of us who are benefiting from his research.
Quoted TextI was interviewed by my local news regarding my success with your program. I have attached the site so that you can see it.
Quoted TextDatapunk - did you coin that? Love it whatever it means. & you're a graphic artist too - literally twice over = haha! Dr. Peter - you are one of my heroes. In a lifetime one does acquire heroes (or mentors or sage writers or people that inspire) & I've a few. Your blood type research has allowed me to live a better life. What more can you expect from a hero ♥
Quoted TextI have to thank you for giving me my life back...or I should say my marriage.
I have seminal allergy to my husband and have had problems since the birth of my second and final child. We didn't know what the rash etc was, so the OB/GYN would just tell me to douche after each sexual encounter, produced massive hives, rash, breathing problems (I thought it was asthma related to climate and treated it with inhaler/antihistamines). At the hospital ER they said I was allergic to Kleenex (hello?). Problems continued to get worse until I was not able to sleep at night due to my "asthma" and had to sit up till several tablets of antihistamines could fix my symptoms. I was bone tired and sooo ill. I looked up "allergic to husband" and found my life on the internet. I had it confirmed at the hospital 'severely allergic to my husband', found me in the ER with anaphylactic shock! Epi pens became my bedside companion.Condoms were out as well - I have a latex allergy.
So my marriage was reduced to a gamble with my life every time we had sex.Condoms were out as well - I have a latex allergy.
So my marriage was reduced to a gamble with my life every time we had sex. That's went I went to the mat and looked for anything in your book that could help me. I had been a fan of your book for years, but now I was on a mission!!!
Nothing in the regular O diet book helped me, but when I looked at a tiny O diet book I found my first clue. In this tiny book you said to use Thyme or Fenugreek for sinus problem... Let’s see, sinus problems are allergy related...my health problem is allergy related...what if I dose myself with Fenugreek (Arabs use it a lot)? I started making a tea out of the ground Helba (Arabic) and noticed my reaction to the condoms wasn't as bad as it used to be. Little by little I built up the Helba in my system until I did my own allergy test (with epi pen at the ready). It has been 12 months symptom-free and a happy marriage!
Of course, you know I got stupid...I didn't take the Helba one night and it wasn't a real problem, slight rash, but nothing major, so I wanted to see how far I could go without Helba. After all, maybe I was cured? Yeah, I was STUPID - had to use the Epi pen the third night! Won’t be that dumb again!
Thank you for my life and marriage. You’re the best and may God give you what is best for you and keep what isn't far from you.
Quoted TextThank you very much!
P.S. We are a family of four "o's" one "B" and an "A" What a chore to cook! But I am so trying because I think this is the best way to choose what foods to serve every family member. Thank you and your Dad so much for bringing this out for all of us.
Quoted TextThis is just a note to say I HAVE FINALLY discovered for sure what my Genotype is and I feel wonderful. I have been working off of the O pos Nonnie Hunter diet and it is without a doubt me to a tee! Thank you thank you thank you Dr D'Adamo!!! You have changed my life! This diet (lifestyle) took me a while to tweak out and research but it was all worth it in the end! I am healthier and more confident. Also with the Genotype I was able to add a few foods back into my diet and that has been wonderful! So all n all I am very very pleased with my over all well being!
Quoted TextThank you so much, I am 73 and due to your book which I purchased in 1996 I do not have old age ailments yet...just in 1989 learned I was Gluten intolerant but that is nothing compared to what it could be. Thanks again
Quoted TextAfter months of struggling with acne and breakouts after going off the pill (just felt crappy while on it) and not to mention WITHIN MONTHS off my wedding, I finally went to visit a Naturopath after trying every imaginable remedy myself to get rid of the breakouts (which I NEVER had while on the pill). Naturopath told me about the blood type diet and I immediately started a food journal and was very strict about following the type A foods. My acne stopped within DAYS! I was so thrilled! The other benefits were just awesome, too. I dropped about 20 lbs (I didn't need to lose any weight, but it was a nice plus) and I had to get my wedding dress taken in! I wasn't sleeping through the night, but now I sleep awesome and have LOADS of energy throughout the day! I tell everyone I know about this diet :)
Quoted Text"Hi I want to thank Dr. Adamo for giving me my life back.
I have had psoriasis for four miserable years. I started on the recommendation for the type O diet. Within days of giving up Wheat and Dairy, my skin started to clear. This was right before Thanksgiving. Now, my arms are clear and my legs, almost. The last places to heal are my stomach and back side. I have avoided many social events during these last four years. No More. Thanks to Dr. Adamo. My girlfriend has just purchased the book because she too has psoriasis. We live in s. Florida and it's miserable in the summer covering up. I look forward to next summer for the first time. THANKS "
Quoted TextIt doesn't take as long as you might think. I was sick for years and years and within the course of this spring and summer am completely healed so long as I obey some rules and stick to my diet. Lately I have been adding things back in that I couldn't eat before at all and am just using the guide to know which ones to try to add back in (carrots, celery, fruit) and which ones not to bother. I am stronger and stay healthier than I have in over 20 years before. and the good news my LDL is only 197! I thought it would be much worse, it must be the gym keeping it lower.
Quoted TextI'm surprised at the items I found to avoid under the Blood 0 Type Diet because it matches 90% of the items I must also avoid after having done a rather expensive food allergy test.
It's quite a revelation, and I've never seen any other diet that matches what I must and mustn't eat as the items are quite varied and not only leaning towards dairy and wheat which are common culprits.
Quoted Text"Some things have to be believed to be seen."

Quoted TextGot linked to your conversation by a friend. I've been suffering for severe dyshydrotic eczema on my hands for over 3 years. I was the same, some days I couldn't even close my hands. Tried every cream there is. A few months ago I got introduced to the BTD, and it really made sense to me. I'm A, so I cold turkey cut all red meat, dairy and cut down on my wheat. Within a week my hands had completely cleared up! Just cutting the meat and dairy from my diet made that much of a change and I'm never going back to my old ways.
Quoted TextI have had no platelets for 21/2 years, receiving gamma globulin pretty well weekly. I have had my spleen out, been on prednisone, cellcept, and a few other meds, plus retuximab for my arthritis. They now want me to try a product called End Plate will I do not want to go on. I have been now trying to just go and get my blood tested every two weeks now to see how I am. My count is 2. I haven`t been getting any bruises latley or have much blood in my nose. I have your little book on Type ~O~ blood which I am. Thank You
Quoted TextI went off the pill & started breaking out horribly (in my 20's) and it was getting close to my wedding. I tried everything imaginable & finally broke down & visited a naturopath. I absolutely recommend it!!! I saw results with my breakouts in like 3 days, lost a little weight with no working out, and my energy sky-rocketed. I used to always be tired and sick before. Even though my wedding was in August, I still abide to the guidelines of this diet. I have the app on my phone and if I eat something I shouldn't, I feel gross. I always had stomach aches before & now I can't remember the last time I felt "sick" :):)
Dear Dr. D'Adamo:
I wanted to tell you that following your program I reduced my cholesterol 42 points in under 3 months. My doctor had told me this was impossible, since i was genetically stuck with an ever-rising cholesterol number, but eating right for my blood type actually restored my 2004 body (weight and cholesterol) - I actually turned back the clock on myself!
I am a 56-year-old 1-legged actress, singer, songwriter, musician, teacher, director & mother who lost her leg to cancer 30 years ago. Having always kept fit and healthy, peri-menopause posed challenges to me that I was told could not be helped or reversed. But in fact, your program proved those who told me that WRONG!
Many thanks for your incredibly valuable gift of life,
Quoted TextGood job on the weight loss! I went through the change at 38 (45 now), quit smoking, changed careers, ended a serious relationship and gained 130lbs!! Nothing has worked for me but the eating for my bloodtype. Of course, now I have had knee problems with all that fat I'm packing. I'm started religiously following the diet on 11/1/11 and have since lost 19lbs!! :) My energy (and moral) is way up and my knee feels better! Imagine that! Good luck and keep it up it's so worth it...Happy Holidays from a fellow B
I'm very happy I was able to reach you
id like to say thanks to you for try
Enlighten us with your knowledge
and to help us understand the essence of ourselves.
Every word you mentioned in your book
My mind was always pushing me to the options listed in your book
for the category of my blood.
Looking forward to learn through your extensive research.
Thank you for your time and concern.
Quoted Text....get started now and try your best. Even doing 80% will make a difference, especially for Os. Genotype is really good, get someone to help you and get going girl! The swami quickly took me from size 6 to a 2 in a year without trying! Each level is just more precise, however, all help and help quickly! Even between now and the New Year! So get with it! Oh, I used to be a 16 in 2007! Just saying
Quoted TextI am very interested in learning about my blood type AB positive. I have been following your book Eat Right for you Type for the past 3 years. It has helped me a great deal but would like to know more.
thank you Dr. D'Adamo you are a GEM!
Quoted TextI read your book and followed the diet for my blood type and was intrigued that it worked. I have been on many diets and this is not really a diet i just changed a few things that i was eating because i thought i was being healthy. I did not finish the book before i started the change so when i finished the book i found that my ethnicity is odd for my blood type. I am 1/2 native American Indian and 1/2 Filipino my blood type is ab positive and my brother is ab negative. Just thought that might be interesting to you. I have 3 other siblings to share the book with. Anyway, loved the book and appreciate you sharing.
Quoted TextI am so thankful to the Holy Spirit leading me to this book! Life changing. O+, don't miss coffee, feel more enlightened and energized! God is good! Thank you Dr. D'Adamo
Quoted Text.....a garland for Dr. D that is created from our expressions of gratitude to him. I suggest that we write these posts addressed to him, instead of about him. I know that we have all shared stories of how our lives have been improved because of him. These beautiful posts are scattered throughout the Forum, and I know Dr. D has missed reading a lot of them because he can't possibly read every post that we write. He is too busy doing the wonderful things that we are grateful for!
Quoted TextHi Sir,
I stumbled upon your book a few days a go only and you have touched I think something great .
I have been trying all kinds of cures without success ; my problem is that my lymph nodes are as it were stuck in kinda glue and I ve always been frustrated not being able to rid of that stuff .
At the reading of the intro in your book dealing with AB blood types ( that is mine ) I could discover this mention of glue ; as far as i am concerned, this glue was directed towards my nodes a long time ago ( I had it already as a kid and I m now 42 ) and even lymphatic drainage was of no effect .
I have thus started to follow your feeding recommendations in your booklet but I feel it is probable i am now on the right track .
I have always wondered how it was possible for a plethora of writers, authors and the like to publish books about the would-be optimal diet without taking parameters specific to individuals into account .
My particularity is i am a bodybuilder and this glue in the same time ¨pulls¨¨ the fascia in the immediate neighborhood which creates a feeling of compression . Not too long ago, I noticed the muscles in my case that are problematical in terms of development are exactly the ones located near the lymph nodes .
This blockage consequently alters and impedes the circulation and of course my digestion is absolutely awful ( sometimes flatulence for 2 hours ).
Anyway, it was a pleasure to chance upon your book and I hope you will read these few lines. It is still a bit too early now to talk about results but I will keep you informed .
In the meantime,I wish you a very happy new year .
Quoted Textmy daughter age 22 had adult onset of seizures...has made great progress as AB+ with ER4YT Diet!
Quoted TextI'm 53, have been on the AB Type diet for 5 months. Have lost more than 30 pounds & never felt better. Thank you!
Quoted TextI am a type O who was a vegetarian for 27 years, when the book first came out I made a drastic change to my diet and went from 150lbs to 125lbs - where I wanted to be or my 5'7" frame. Thank you!!
Quoted Text"I just ordered your blood testing kit. It was so simple to do and I have been putting it off for a while. I am an O but I don't know what my husband is and then I can find out about my children. I think he's an O also, so my children will be O's and it will make life easier and cooking too!! I have been on Eat right for your type for about 6 mo and what a difference my life is. I have never felt better!! And after years of Drs telling me to eat more fiber (which consisted of wheat) my stomach issues are gone!!!!! I just wish I knew about this 50 years ago! Oh well I still have 50 to go!!!!! Thanks to you!!"
Quoted TextMy blood type is A and my mother blood type is O We follow your food eating system, thank you Dr dadamo and god bless you. You deserve Nobel prize, we hope you win it soon. You changed my life, thank you.
Quoted TextMy goodness, I love the Geno Type Book! Had a hard time with the leg measurements, hope I did it right. I am an Explorer with O positive blood and I'm not left handed. However, do I totally disregard all I have practiced over the years with your BTD book??? I am a huge advocate of your book and have helped many people get on board with the diet. I am a non-secretor as well so the Explorer is good for me. I really want to get started with this GTD....and like the idea of eating some of the things that were an AVOID before. Does this diet over ride the BTD and I should just start from here and let go of the old and start new. Even with the vitamins? God bless you Dr. D'Adamo, you're doing an outstanding job for this world. I will be happy to share all my experience with people as I did with the BTD because I believe in your work. Thank you for your time.
Quoted TextI actually had followed this diet loosely nearly 10 years ago and had lowered my cholesterol by about 50 points in 3 months. I followed it for a while and then got away from it for whatever reason and pretty much forgot about it. Recently, my cholesterol is up again and I decided to lose some weight this year as well. I started following it loosely about a week ago and have surprisingly already lost about 4 pounds. I am very excited. I think this is exactly what I need.
Quoted TextMy youngest was very sick... at her worst point she was on 8 prescription meds and one of them was formula. Within 6 months of eating right she no longer needed her meds and started gaining weight. She is living proof that this works!
Quoted TextI am a 45 year old male, blood type A (don't know if I am secretor or non-secretor).
I was interested in the blood type diet many years ago and only incorporated a few parts for a few months and then was distracted and did not continue.
I've been slightly overweight for many years, with up and down bouts in weight control and energy levels, etc., indigestion, acid reflux, joint pain, back pain, colds and sinus infections a few times a year, low or fluctuating energy levels; but no major health issues. I should add that I had tried to eat more healthy in recent years, by avoiding fried foods or high fat foods and fast foods; but I didn't see a lot of changes, and in fact I slowly gained weight. I would try to get my weight down to about 180-185. but it always crept up to 190-195. And it didn't seem to matter what I ate under the previous diet regime, I couldn't control my weight or quicken my metabolism without exercise.
Last year, I went for an annual physical and the blood work showed an elevated cholesterol level (both parents are on cholesterol and blood pressure medicine, so I have a history to battle with).
My values were LDL 156, HDl 49, Triglycerides 143, total Cholesterol 234. The blood work was done in early February 2011. My weight was about 203 lbs, and I am about 5'9.
I was put on a statin medication to lower the cholesterol, but I had a reaction to the medication that was unpleasant. The doctor couldn't explain it, but it was clearly from the medication. Rather than try a different medication, I opted to try changing my diet and increasing exercise to take some weight off.
As of March 2011, I began the blood type diet and slowly eased my way into it over the course of a few weeks. By summer I was basically focusing on just beneficial and neutral foods, and more or less avoiding the avoid foods. While it was not entirely simple at first, it grew increasingly easier over time, especially with the support of my wife, who is also a type A. While she didn't follow the diet as strictly as I did (her cholesterol was elevated as well), she also ate along with me and changed her diet somewhat as per the Blood Type diet for Type A.
I began swimming about 3-5 times a week to complement this change in diet, and I tried to work toward a caloric intake of about 2400 calories per day when I was exercising and about 2000 per day when I wasn't.
When I went for my annual physical this past week (about 11 months after the last physical and blood work), the doctor remarked about the amazing change that was done without medication.
Not only has my body leveled out at about 166-168 lbs for the past few months, but my energy levels are amazing, I can sleep comfortable without back pain or other pains, I hadn't been sick in any way since last MArch until this Christmas when I got a upper respiratory cold that was going around; I have no more indigestion, no more acid reflux, and no more joint pains. I feel like I am in my 20s again. I should add that a new job has kept me away from exercise for the past 4-5 months, but that I am starting up again now this month. Despite the lack of exercise, my metabolism seems to continue at its current great rate and I've had no noticeable change in my weight or other areas of my health.
The thing that I was most concerned about, my cholesterol, showed a tremendous improvement.
You will recall what my blood work showed in February 2011 from above.
In January 2012, my LDL had dropped to 116, my HDL was slightly up to 51, my Triglycerides were down to 83, and my total cholesterol was down to 183.
I feel great; I feel the blood type diet isn't really a diet anymore. for the past several months it just became a part of my lifestyle, and I feel so great that I have no cravings for the avoid foods that I used to want to eat. I also don't overeat, because I feel satisfied from all the whole foods that I eat from the beneficial and neutral lists as a part of my diet in the appropriate quantities.
I attribute my success to the blood type diet, and I wanted to let you know and thank you for your ongoing work.
I have the the Eat Right 4 Your type book, and I received the Cook right 4 your type book for Christmas. I have the IPhone App and refer to it from time to time for a few of the foods that I have not yet committed to memory or when I am shopping.
Quoted Texti just ABSOLUTELY love your site! i never knew what was going on inside me before reading your book and info on this site. as for my diet....the funny thing is....everyone told me i was a picky eater when i was a child. but the food i would eat was, according to your info, the food i SHOULD have been eating! very interesting! thank you again for your site!
Quoted TextI am so glad that I read your book and found out about this way of eating. I have been bothered by heartburn and stomach problems for a long time and since I have been following the foods that you have suggested in your book, I have not experienced any of the symptoms and have lost 14.5 pounds effortlessly.
I have also purchased the cook book and make many of recipes and find them very tasty and satisfying. One thing I have found, is that I am not constantly "grazing". It has opened up a wider variety of foods that I otherwise wouldn't have tried.
Thank you for all your work.
Quoted TextWhen this is done 80% of the time (or more), the results are amAzing. It is most beneficial if the exercise program is partnered with the change of eating habits. Remember, this is a healthy way 'diet' not a weight loss diet but the weight loss is an added benefit.
Quoted TextDr. D'Adamo work on Blood Type change my life in a huge way. I was so ill 4 years ago I didn't think I was going to live much longer.
The impact of his work led me to find a career in the holistic nutritional field. As a result I am a student at the Institute of Integrated Nutrition in New York, for certification as a holistic health coach. As I study all the dietary theories I know that for the most part those theories are not working for everyone because they simply are not considering blood type. After I become certified I want to further expand my knowledge base in the blood type diets.
Are there any classes or certifications that one can obtain in the Blood Type Diet?
Thank you so much Dr. D'Adamo you work save my life.
Quoted TextOnly several million thanks and devotionals to Dr D for the amazing new lives people found after starting ER4YBT!
Quoted TextI made a "stone age sweetie jar" with foods on my beneficial list so i make a main meal of fish or meat and greens, then i know my snacksare good for me, I am now moving down the sizes of my stored clothes love this system
Quoted Texthave been following the A+ for about 7 weeks...feel amazing, no more bloating and have lost about 1 1/2 stone!!!! I have more energy and everyone is now wanting to know what I've been doing...i'm spreading the word about the blood group diet !!!what i love about this is there is no weighing/measuring/points counting etc as there is with all the other diets i've done over the years. i have to say i'm never hungry, my shape has totally changed from being pear shape to not ! I did have a specific reason to try and lose weight...my son is getting married in March and I had ordered a dress over the internet and when it arrived it didn't fit...the zip wouldn't go up the last 5" and i was devastated, I tried it on last week and it went up with ease and is now a little too big!!! Tears of joy that day...good luck with it and do stick to it...you will be surprised how quickly you see results..measure yourself at the start because the inches literally drop off you :-)
Quoted TextWe would like to just write a quick note to you to express our gratitude. We found out this book about 2 years ago. We tried to adhere to it but unfortunately did not succeed. My husband is O and I am an A. We had just had our first child and found it too overwhelming - the shopping, the food prep etc. 2/3 years had gone by and my husband was just not feeling "right". His joints ached, we were both unhappy with our physical selves etc. He decided to revisit the book and we have not turned back. Something just clicked. I find life is just so much easier now. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. The lifestyle change has been a wonderful experience!
Quoted TextFWIW i know fibromyalgia can be resolved by following the BTD/GTD. I struggled with it for years, within a few weeks of switching (and being compliant) my fibromyalgia improved dramatically (90%). I have had zero symptoms now for over a year.
Quoted TextGood Morning Blood Type O Friends. It has been two weeks since I have been on this new way of eating and living. I have not only lost 5 pounds, but mainly my tummy troubles have just about gone. I really do feel great. I use to want to eat all the time, but now I am not really hungry. I started drinking seltzer water too which I now love. A twist of lemon does it really good. These results are amazing!
Quoted TextThank you for this information and group. I am Blood Type O and feel 100% better now that I know why certain foods make me feel so terrible. I look forward to a lifestyle of feeling better by eating right for me. :)
Quoted TextMy husband and I are both Type A's. Husband has controlled (diet and exercise)Type II Diabetes. Great results following blood type diet (same or similar for diabetes). Wanting to add GenoType info(we are both Teachers); Thank you very much!
Quoted TextDear Mr. D'Adamo,
More then 2 years ago I bought your book about the blood type diet. Since then I am living and eat mostly according the recommendations of this diet. And I benefit from it – in terms of good effects for my overall well being, my health and last but not least – my weight. Thank you!
I very appreciate your diet and as a fan I recommend it to my friends and colleagues.
Quoted TextI couldn't believe the difference before & after "wheat" . Not just in big hurts but in Plumbing( no more IBS symptoms) and skin ( no more evil "blind, Killer zits that I picked any way 'cause they hurt). A work colleague asked how could I be looking younger every day...well not moving like an old lady and not spending every waking minute in pain seems to be showing on my face. By trying this life plan, all you have to lose is pain( and a bunch of fat but that's just a perk!)
Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo
I recently returned from a 14 day Habitat for Humanity volunteer trip to El Salvador with 12 other volunteers of various ages. At 68 I was the oldest. We were warned to bring medications for various digestive maladies while there. I have been taking your Type O Polyflora probiotics for several months. I am elated to tell you that I was the only member of the group that did not get sick with diarrhea or vomiting. I most definitely credit your probiotics for this and thank you for this and all your other great products.

I have been doing the blood type A diet for over a year.. I lost 15 pounds in over a 3 week period… My blood pressure went down and the Dr. took it a second time… I explained I starting reading all the Dr. D’Adamos books on eating right for your blood type.. I have gone off and felt horrible.. I am back on the diet plan and I am determined to make this a lifelong goal.. Basically for years I ate very much similar to the diet for type A. I always felt blah after eating red meat.. took a while to digest…Always loved salads, fruit , veggies and grains… I learned more about eating right with the many books by Dr. D’adamo.. The main thing I changed was that I drink soymilk now.. I was a big milk drinker all my life…But I love the soymilk with molasses.. I go to a thai restaurant and enjoy ordering brown rice and steamed vegatables with soy… I am so excited about the new cookbooks…A few friends of mine have just started this diet.. One person called me the other day and said she actually felt full after eating this way… She was a sceptic for one year.. She wasn’t feeling well so she started the diet… I believe this work by Dr.D’Adamo is like finding a pearl . It is very valueable information that I believe would help many people suffering with illnesses. Thank you Dr.D’Adamo . Thank you Kristin O’Connor for this new recipe book.. P.S. I had purchased the little pocket guide for many people at the Drs.Clinic where I have my check ups… They are great gifts.. Just recently I gave two books to a Dr. to look at.. I believe he will be blessed… God Bless you for blessing so many with your time and knowledge . We reap the benefits!..
Another TY note just came in: "Dear Dr. D'dadamo
This is a sincere thank you. I am from Ireland and I recently started your diet for blood type A. It is absolutely phenomenal. I have lost over 1 stone in a month but more than that, I feel amazing. I am 45 years old and a mother of 2 grownup children and had settled for the usual weight gain and general ill health that comes with it and it is only now I realize how bad I actually felt. I now have a new lease of life, and can't believe how amazing I feel. I will never go back to eating the way I did, because I have had a whole new world of food opened up to me.
Thank you so, so much
Quoted Text"To whom it may concern,
I have been on the blood type diet for about a year now and the results are amazing. It has completely transformed my life. I began with just eliminating a few foods, now I am trying to follow it at about an 80% rate. I have lost 50 pounds and I feel great. I am a huge advocate of the plan, and recommend it to everyone that I come in contact with. I want to be a spokesperson for this amazing lifestyle. Is there any way I can send pictures of before and after, or talk to someone about it. I am a 35 year old man that went from 245 to 190 lbs in a very healthy way. I just want to be involved in some shape or form, and remember Jarrod from the subway commercials, you need a face for this diet. Thanks"
Quoted TextI'm type O, and after I started following the BTD, I lost about 100 pounds and have ZERO GI distress anymore, MORE energy...endless list. Saved my life!!!
Quoted TextI am A type to and had lost 2 stone in under 2mths and at going to be the big 50 in May i feel the best I've felt for years..
Quoted TextI am so pleased with my results by following eat 4 your type that I have sent it to several people and have told everyone I can about you.
Thank you so much
Quoted TextNo more digestion issues!!! My skin, hair and nails are much healthier. I feel amazing! I started the diet on January 1st and lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks, body fat percent from 20% to 16%. My hubs is on the diet also and doing great! Not a challenge really on foods and we are different types. I am A+ and he is B-. I recommend this to everyone!!
Quoted TextI'm not on the BTD to lose weight. In fact, this is not a "diet" for me but rather, a way of eating so I can be healthy. If I lose weight while eating this way, then that is a bonus. How could I deny a way of eating when I felt undeniable results within the first 12 hours? When I ditch the plan, I feel like c**p. When I stick to the plan, I feel like a champ. Some may see it as a hoax...for me, this is no hoax...this is a way of life!
Quoted TextIt can be confusing with all that's out there but I can say for me it worked in 2010 I set out on a journey to get healthy I was over .235 lbs.in less than 1 yr I lost 85 lbs and have maintained my weightloss to this day. If eating clean foods, minimal preservatives and fresh real food is bad for us then I don't know what could be better my story is on my blog... 'successfuleatingwithsandra'
Quoted TextYou have to understand that the medical & pharmaceutical companies make their money from us being sick! The BTD basically takes money out of their pockets because everyone on the BTD hardly ever goes to the DR or needs chemical meds. It works wonderfully and I have never felt so great!
We heard about the blood type diet from a friend of ours. While we have always enjoyed a " Mediterranean" type of life style and eating habits this diet seemed to be attractive so we have been following the type"O" for the last 3 months. Lo and behold, our latest blood/urine work results showed marked improvements; our Doctor confirms that: "whatever you are doing , keep on doing it!".
The most surprising fact about this diet is that I have had a liking of food that is recommended and mostly a dislike or no interest at all of food to avoid. This a major aspect why it is so easy to follow. Avoiding potatoes, white wine, bread/cereals (or all flour), dairy products (except the odd Camembert cheese and parmigiano) and others has been a cinch and we will keep on doing this. There is not one food I have trouble getting rid of.
Like the Doctor said: keep on truckin'...
Quoted TextI have been on BTD for over ten years. I started the BTD at 265 lbs. BUT that is not why I started it. I was one sick girl, I hadn't left the house for 2 years:Diverticulitis, fibromyalgia, migraines, colitis my cholesterol was 325 etc. I was on so much medication. One day someone gave me the book..and so the journey began. I LIVED on the forum, without them the first 3 weeks I would have killed myself from withdrawals....gradually I started feeling better...when I got to the 3 month period, I thought this has to be c**p! so I stopped within 3 weeks I was right back were I started..we back and never looked back! With in 1 1/2 years I was a new person I lost 150 lbs. (not trying), was off all my meds. , I VERY seldom have a migraine and if I do it's my own fault. IF this is a myth, then I am a monkeys uncle. Perhaps medical science (and I am an RN) doesn't want to admit that medicine doesn't fix everything. Go slow...I went cold turkey and like i said it almost killed me, take worse offensives out of your diet first. then keep going. I suggest you join the "community" on the website. there is lots of help there.please don't think it is always easy and I haven't fallen off the wagon a few times...but ever time I do it's a reminder for me of where I came from. Please please do this for yourself.. no matter how may people demand "you"..let this be a year of taking care of your temple. the medications for diabetes like Metformin and all the others are so toxic!! they do far more damage to your body than you can think of..you can do it! I truly am not any different...just a person who was sick and tired of being sick and tired!

Quoted TextQuite a testament to the Blood Type Diet; one of our documentary subjects, Marley (Type A), can't eat wheat or corn, and loves bananas, coconut, mangoes, and peppers. Just found out today that she's a non-secretor! D'Adamo, you amaze us all :)
Quoted TextDear, Dr. Peter
I have had your book for years and have lived by it. Out of all the studies I have done on health and staying healthy yours is what I live by....and my whole family...when we were ill and had problems they all changed for the good following your book...I got my husbands cholesterol down in one year and the Drs even asked him: "how did you do it?"...he said: 'my wife'...he was at 300...no pills he is down now. It truly is like a car our bodies...we have to put the right fuel in to function properly. I am so thankful for your study and your blood type book and I just wanted to let you know it has made such a difference in my life and my kids and husbands life....I believe in it 150%. Thank you so much
Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo:
Most grateful to you. I'm AB and know myself much better now. You've made an amazing impact on my mom's recovery from stroke, diabetes and kidney disease; she's A.
I am a Baha'i and my faith states that the "food of the future is fruits and grains" and that diseases can be cured by means of foods!
God's blessings to you.
Quoted TextI wish to thank you for your book Eat Right for your Type. I am Blood Group B and already I am finding that I do not have the hunger cravings I used to have. The tonsil stones i was plagued with have almost ceased. (My GP nor a Hospital Consultant could help me with these...apart from telling me to have a tonsillectomy).
My blood sugar levels are beginning to stabilize ...a real problem for someone with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
What this diet has also invited me to do is to get back to basics and cut out all the rubbish convenience foods. I do have more energy but have not begun to loose any significant weight yet.
I am learning to live without chicken, tomatoes and lentils which were stock favorites...
I am probably a Nomad of the secretor type re the Genotype.
Quoted TextMyself, my wife and sons are type 'O'.
I have seen some reports that rave about it's health benefits.
PS. Your ideas greatly benefit the health of my family and friends. I can only hope that our government would put aside some of the 'junk-science' and get on board with your ideas.
Quoted TextI started the O diet in the 90's and always felt and looked great...then I fractured my shoulder and fell off the wagon so to speak. I also have developed Hoshimoto's...so after three years of eating horribly, I found my much used book, reviewed all my highlights, cleaned out my entire kitchen and I now feel like a new person. Giving up Gluten and sugars and adding exercise has brought me back to life!

Quoted TextA thank you to Dr. A'Dadamo - my husband is Type A and in 2009 had a cholesterol of 5.1 (HDL 1.74/LDL 3) - it spiked in late 2009 to 6.7 - around that time we began following the blood group diet and by April 2011 it had dropped to 5.8 - recently 2012 it spiked again back to 6.8 so under pressure from family we made an appointment with a Cardiologist and booked an ECG (we are in Ireland) - the cardiologist said nothing to worry about as his HDL's are at 2.33 and the LDL's at 4.2 - onto the ECG and my hubbie was told his heart health is in the top 2% of people his age (42 yrs) - so even though his cholesterol is showing at 6.9 he is in excellent health - I firmly believe this is down the BGD for since 2009, when he began the diet, his HDL's have increased steadily - thank you once more - a shining light in the dark !!!
Quoted TextA Year and a half and... Hey! Where is that 50 POUNDS? I had it right here and I have no idea where it went??? ...Let this be YOUR story also. Love, Health & Well being for all!

Quoted TextWanted to thank you for having the blood type
information available. I am type A.
I have changed many things in my life such as not eating meat and not longer having a TV because I was able to listen to what my body was telling me.
However to have my blood type help explain why my body was reacting to these things gives me better insight in understanding what my body needs, along with the why. I will now be able to further respect and honor myself by trying the different things listed to see if I can be the best that I can be everyday.
Again thank you
Quoted TextI live is SW Miami, Here for 28 years. 54 years old, I don't call it a diet eater. I eat from my food list as for what is highly beneficial foods for my type "Type O" I was 235 and rising and had been a pound or so each month for a few years. I've learned a lot about my body and blood type because of your book and the blood type diet. It just really works. It helped me lose weight and live healthier. You can use my testimony if you wish too do so.
Many thanks again Dr D'Adamo.

Quoted Textsoy/tofu products, lentils and various other beans, vegetables, fruit, nuts, a wide variety of grains, etc. It was a very well balanced vegan diet... i had assistance from other vegetarians + a vegan mentor and i took a class on it and proper food combining, etc. It turns out that some of the important foods for veganism are huge avoids for me (all soy, lentils, most beans, a large portion of nuts, most grain). Once i eliminated the soy products, beans and grains, and started following more closely what was actually beneficial for me, i lost about 60 pounds. I have had 1 migraine in a year. My fibromyalgia is almost gone and i don't have significant anemia any longer. I do have to watch it though as it is generally borderline a lot of the time. I'm a B+ Non-Secretor Explorer and while i don't gorge on meat, i do require it to keep me balanced. Thank you!

I weigh 135 lbs. and I am a healthy and do not take any medications. I'm 51 and healthier than I was 20 years ago thanks to you. Quoted TextHello from Australia! Two months ago I was fortunate enough to find a copy of eat right 4 your type on the ground in a park. I phoned the number inside the cover and I was thanked and then told I could keep the book. I was also told to consider reading it that it might change my life. The book was loved it was dog eared and there were notes scribbled everywhere. I purchased my own copy. As I looked at the foods to avoid it became apparent very quickly that there were a great deal of foods listed that my body had always had a reaction to. My weight has always been a challenge for me. Since committing to eating totally right for my blood type from the information found in the book I have dropped 20 kilos in 2 months! I have gone from walking like a sloth for 15 mins once a day to walking for 20 mins twice a day with pace and passion. So, thank you Dr D'Adamo you have impacted on my life in a very positive way. I feel fantastic and I wish you well. Warm regards,
Quoted Text" Dear Dr. D'Adamo
I would like to inform you that I had read your books Eat Right 4 Your Type, Live Right 4 Your Type and Change your Genetic Destiny. I have followed your instructions for the past 18 months. I have been a glaucoma suspect for the past 6 yrs. I have been seeing my eye doctor every 6 months for those 6 yrs. My latest appointment was this past Tuesday with good results. My doctor noticed that I no longer have macular degeneration in my right eye. At the last three visits I have had, my eye pressure has reduced a little each time. We have been seeing some progress most recently. My eye doctor made a comment about he wished people would eat based on their genetics to be healthier. I informed him that I had been following information from your books. He was happy to hear this as he mentioned everyone looks at him like he has ten heads. I informed him I could vouch for him. I thank you for all your hard work in your profession and wish more will read your books to educate themselves so they can be healthier. I look forward to my next 6 month appointment to see what other great results will come. I have promoted your books to many individuals so they may educate themselves.
Thank you very much for your dedication and information to help us.
Quoted TextFirst I want to thank you for all the hard work and time you have spent doing such beautiful research regarding blood type diet and health...
thank you again for blessing me with such amazing knowledge...
Quoted TextWhats up guys! Thanks for letting me in the group. I just wanted to let you guys know that I've gone on many different diets and this one is the best. I was in constant search for the right diet for me in order to elevate my jiu jitsu. I've been using my training in jiu jitsu as a testing ground on how my body reacts to certain foods during the rigorous training and strength and conditioning workouts. Most people go about their day oblivious to how certain foods affect their mood, health and overall performance. They've lost the sensitivity because they are bogged down from every day stress and misinformation out there. Even though I've taken more than a year off training, I've been able to sustain my energy levels plus my thinking is much clearer during training.
I'm O+ and currently i've been blending a mixture of spinach, kale, and blue berries in the morning and evening. In between I eat beef, lamb, and some sardines during the week. I snack on plums, pears, and seeds in between meals along with the occasional quinoa. Also I found that sweet potato is the best before my training. I'm boosting my weight training soon and will supplement some pea protein powder. I used to use whey protein and it made so bloated. lol. Good luck guys, God bless!

Nice note from a very well-known researcher.
Dear Dr. D'Adamo,
I am a huge fan of your books and again of this great database. Most pathway databases are badly curated or mix up human with animal pathways. Your database is so good.
With very best regards,

Quoted Text" Dear Dr D'Adamo, I had been ill almost all my life with stomach problems and fatigue illnesses. My doctors were treating the symptoms but not curing the problem!
I eventually realized that it was a food problem, so came across your site.. wow it was a revelation.. I am a healthy and happy 50 year old with the energy now of a 20 year old. I thank you from the bottom of my heart..
Thanks and kind regards "
Quoted TextI would get very bloated, fatigued and pains in my lower back and knees. I told a friend of mine my symptoms and she suggested that I have Celiac disease. I came off wheat and flour products and noticed a reduction in the bloating. Not one for accepting a disease prognosis I did some reading and asking around...only to be asked by another friend "what is your blood type?" I told her that it was O positive and she smiled and told me to go online and read Dr. D'Adamo's book. I was blown away to see the very same thing that caused Celiac disease...Happy to know that I just had a special blood type made me feel much better and am now eating very differently.. my waist size is slowly being reduced... I just need to up the exercise and get some more advise on the recipes/food that can make my diet more dynamic.. I live in Jamaica so fresh fruit, meat and vegetables are easy to come by.
Thanks Dr. D'Adamo!
Quoted TextSo, I've been on the diet in one form or another for about a year. Started with BTD for B, then GTD as a Nomad, and now SWAMI since September when I also found out that I'm a non secretor, which now makes me a B+ nonnie GT2 Gatherer. Before this I had verged on being vegetarian for about 5 years and the only meat I ate was occasional chicken with some cheese and eggs and a good amount of soy. (Not good for a Type B, as I now know.) Back then I had my cholesterol checked and it was a very low, almost unhealthy total cholesterol of 109. I thought I was being "healthy" then. A year ago I went back to meat while trying to follow the BTD, omitting the chicken completely, and starting slowly at first with turkey and fresh fish, and slowly adding beef back into my diet. I now eat two hard boiled eggs for breakfast every morning, and other meat (beef, turkey or fish) with my other two meals. My cholesterol at my wellness check-up yesterday, was up to a whopping 146!!! The low side of the normal range is 140! I guess my body was missing the meat, as I feel much better now than I did then. Everybody is different, but the D'Adamo approach works best for me!!!
Quoted TextI thought I would jump in and share as well. I am BT O and a NS.. so I have to be more careful than the secretors do. I follow Dr Peter D'Adamo, who I have a lot of respect for.. the man is a "genius" and we ALL are fortunate to have a connection with him. I have had his book, Live Right 4 Your Type, for 10+ years. I follow the BTD 75-80 % of the time. I also take the BTD supplements and have been doing so consistently for the past 10-11 years. I have not been seen by a doctor for at least 12 or 13 years.. since my last physical exam. I very recently have found a woman doctor that I like a lot... I am picky about doctors, dentists, etc., and she and her doctor husband know of Dr Peter D'Adamo :) In fact, her husband knew Dr "D" in medical school :) I have passed my recent and thorough physical exam! I turned 62 on my last b-day. I feel good.. I am healthy! I am grateful to be alive :) Blessings to ALL ♥
Quoted TextI wanted to share my positive experience from eating for my blood type for well over 10 yrs. First off - NO ONE believes I'm the age I am. Everyone thinks I'm at least 10 to 15 yrs YOUNGER. I have great energy & I have never been on any meds for any reason. I rarely see a medical doctor for any problem because so far I have never had any. Most of my friends around my age (and younger) are on meds and have had various surgeries. My family had early heart issues, so far nothing in that department. Diabetes was also a family problem - mine is slightly above normal but I am control it by a great way to eat --the blood type diet. Thanks Dr. D'Adamo for writing your many books and much research.
Quoted TextThank you, to Dr. D'Adamo, and all those involed in his research. I have seen a 100% improvment in my quality of life, thanks to your diet. As an AB-, Ive always had a finickey diet, but i never new why. Food was just gross! So my loving mother always had a side stash of pepperoni hot pockets, cheeseburgers, and macoroni and cheese for me. Looking back on what couldve been classified as IBS, Ive always saught to get myself proper nutrition with various diet guidelines, trying to find a plan that fit me and my overlysensitive stomach. Then, someone mentioned the blood type diet. I found on paper what my body was telling me all along. And it makes so much sense! Down to the personality traits, too! Its easy to adhear to this diet when you know how good your body can feel. So thanks again! Im off to save the world with my new super powers! :)
Quoted Text"dear Dr D'Adamo,
i bought your book in '97 actually started seriously following my type B diet only since 2000 (!). since then I've lost 32 lbs and hope to lose another 5 to get to my normal level (I'm now 120 lbs). not only do i feel much better, my health has much improved (incl seasonal allergies to pollen that i don't need prescription meds anymore). i tell everyone about you and your program and encourage family, friends, even acquaintances to give it a try.
thank you so much! "
Quoted TextI am fascinated by Dr. D'Adamos' work and I must say, as much as we have incorporated it in my diet the results have been amazing - brain fog/morning sweats, mucus cough
GONE, mood swings better (pms is still an issue) weight loss was rapid 12 lbs the first month, not much since, I started this March. 26th of this year.
I have bought Eat Right for Your Type and have read it multiple times, trying to learn more with each read. Also I should add, I am 39 yrs. old, 40 in July. I have been reading about the genealogical types also, and am pretty sure I am a Warrior type, hoping we can soon get this test done soon also.
Any information you could provide would be most appreciated!!!
Thank you all so very much for your great work!

Quoted TextHello there,
I came to you in 1993 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I would just like to let you know that I am still here , celebrating 19 years of survival!
I appreciate it.
Thank you so much,
In 1999, I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis. It did affect my thyroid to a certain extent.
I exercise regularly and am on what I call an elimination "O" diet. I test "O" type foods for any bodily reaction and eliminate them based on negative factors.
I experience hypoglycemic reactions after eating certain foods (which I did not understand fully until I read the book mentioned above).
I wanted to learn more, so I am reading all about your findings online as well.
My next step is to purchase copies of your books, as the area of brain health and bodily nutrition are very important to me.
Also, 3 of my four boys have been diagnosed with Gifted/ADD and one with Gifted/ADHD. This is a genetic condition, however, diet can complicate it tremendously.
I have it as well, but can hyperfocus on things I love. So here I am!
Thanks for making sense of the obvious but overlooked simplicity of blood based diets.
Also, I recently read that there are other countries that use this blood type technique, and realize now that this is routine in their culture and it just makes so much sense.
Thanks for being a leader in America's health an wellness.

I have 2 different types of Leukemia, Myeloblastic and Acute Lymphatic and a few other health problems (heart, circulation, cardiovascular issues). TY!
Quoted TextI am so excited about this diet I can't help but tell people and they just don't seem to get it most of the time. I guess you have to be ready for major changes in your life before you look for something like this.
Quoted TextType O and have been gluten & dairy free for 6 weeks now and Lost 10 pounds! Still tired but at least functional. IBS has been minimal and face is clearing up. (also Hypothyroid & chronic Epstein Barr) :)
Quoted TextI am pleased to announce (after going back onto the BTD properly again) that I am back to the weight I was in my 20's and 30's. This proves that we don't have to just accept weight gain in our 40's and 50's. Am now feeling fitter and healthier than I have in years. Thankyou Dr D !!!!!!
Quoted Texta quick testimony. I have agoraphobia (some of you may know that I am fearful away from my home). So this past December I found a lump in my already cystic breasts. I have not yet gone to have it checked BUT....since I started this diet a month ago the lump has shrunk and my anxiety is getting better. I took a test drive today to the place where I am getting my mammogram done. I made it all the way there ^5. I am really happy about all of this !!!!!
Quoted TextI m doing great with my weight loss, i was 200lbs 19 weeks ago and now down to 153. I have changed my diet completely with how much i eat and what i eat(started BTD 19 weeks ago) & walking almost everyday. I cut out breads, salt & fat, i eat meats & veggies for my BTD. I have Lyme and it mostly affected my knees, high blood pressure now is perfect and the top arches of my feet don't hurt, they used to feel like someone dropped a huge rock on them. I have had 6 children their ages are 19 down to 5 and I m 38 and i actually feel better now than i did when i was 20. The BTD does work!
Quoted TextI'd like to thank you profoundly to Dr. Peter D'Adamo ( the Doctor, the author of ER4YT ) and Karen Vago ( the Nutritionist , the author of MMSVGS ) for helping me, showing me, saving me , guiding me , and leading me to be ME ( O+ NS - Hunter ) now today... I will never make it without you both... THANK YOU
Quoted TextI tend to think some of the hormone discussions in the media are a bit exaggerated. Even many organic meats/eggs contain significant amounts of naturally occurring hormones. However, I think type A's do best with soy products and less so other blood types. I've had infertility problems all my married life and less than consistent cycles. But as soon as I started eating right for my type and eventually converting over to the genotype diet my cycles have usually been very predictable (except for one time when I was traveling for almost 2 weeks and not always eating right it got thrown out of whack). Just following your correct diet plan should help a lot.
Quoted TextI really Love this way to eat for years been feeling sick & slugish been going Good for 4 1/2 months the wt Fell off have Great energy all my Blood work looks Great! everyday I Roast or BBQ Vegies and just find it so Easy... Salmon & Rice bread for Breakfast with Fruit. The more you read the Book just makes so much sense, so Thank you, from a much healthier Happy woman...
Quoted TextHi, Firstly, I would like to say how fantastic the blood type diet has been for my rheumatoid arthritis! I declined taking the disease modifying drugs when I had my diagnosis 3&1/2 years ago and spent the time trying all sorts of dietary changes, utterly convinced that diet was the key. I had the blood type diet book in my cupboard for years, loved the concept, but didn't want to give up all the healthy foods on my avoid list! Once I did, all the pain disappeared and I have been really well ever since, and have recently set up a support network for people looking to manage the condition more naturally, helping to encourage them to educate themselves about how food can help them and have directed them to the diet. I got the Arthritis book too and have been following the supplement protocol
as well as the Complete Blood Type Encyclopaedia and have been looking at menopause protocol. TY!
Quoted TextI have reduced my blood pressure from hypertension 2 & now I am pre-hypertension all in the 3 weeks since I've started. No drugs just ERFYBT diet to thank! I'm down 18 pounds too...woohoo! TY!
Quoted TextDear Dr. D'Adamo,
I am a Brazilian woman, type blood O and two weeks ago I bought your book Eat Right for Your Type.
I decided to follow your diet, and even though I've been vegetarian for over 20 years, I've included the recommended fishes in my daily menu and cut off milk and dairy products. It is amazing but I felt the results in the first week! Today it's been two weeks and my husband and friends have noticed the difference in my body shape! But the most important, which is the main reason that lead me to your book is that I was suffering from bronchitis, asthma and allergies and today I'm feeling much better!!
I want to keep on with this positive change. There are so many other Brazilian people following your Blood Type Diet.
Thank you very much for your breakthrough.
Greetings from Brazil!
Quoted TextMy sincerest gratitude for the great work! Having suffered for many years of headaches consuming numerous medications including amitriptyline and forced early retirement, I was surprised to learn my solution was in print. Thanks to a friend who had a copy of your book and shared my pain. All I had to do was forgo chick peas, peanuts, corn, cashews, pistachios and some others, my headaches are nearly gone. When I do get an occasional one,I can almost almost always diagnose. These few words are no match for your many but they are heartfelt and appreciative. May God bless you and your work and grant you long life to rescue many!
Quoted TextI am an O non-secretor. Thank you for making me feel so much better. I'm not taking the purple pill any more and my eyes have stopped watering constantly. All this from eating for my type!
Quoted TextI'm just really amazed how feeling so good has enabled me to keep eating right. No diet I've ever been on has done that, it was all about "being good" this is about feeling well, which, for me, is a much more powerful incentive!!
Quoted TextIf you have medical issues (as I had) you only have to try the BTD (followed correctly as prescribed by Dr D) for a very short while before you become aware of just how right this way of eating is for each blood type. The first time I read the book everything just fell into place for me, too. It all just makes sense - it's so logical, and best of all, it works.
Quoted TextI want to thank you for this book which was introduced to me by my sister. I am A , and had a persisting nose and throat allergy, which has is no longer felt since I started following the blood type A diet. I have eliminated beef, pork and fresh cow milk in my diet, what a relief.
Quoted TextI found Eat Right 4 Your Type several years ago. I know Dr. D'Adamo's research is true, because I tried the diet, and I was able to experience a relief from stomach pain just by changing the foods I ate. I am type A.
Thank you so much for the knowledge shared which has impacted my life in such a positive way.
Quoted TextO+ Gatherer here. Loads of vegetables, beans, fish, some occasional lean meat, turkey, and a low glycemic way of eating too. I have stopped all wheat, dairy- I'm 90% there- big improvement here- and I gave up all coffee, which was hard, but it was hurting my body in a lot of ways. I eat only gluten free grains now too- a lot of quinoa, amaranth, millet, brown basmati rice occasionally too. It is hard for me to keep my figure under control, but I feel great and I'm getting there slowly with out jumping around with yo-yo dieting. :)
Quoted TextMy 1st contact with Eat Right.. was at the health food store, 2nd a friend told me how her husband with prostate cancer was contacted by a friend with the same telling him how with this diet the cancer was no longer detectable. The husband did not understand anything and pitched the book.
"The friend is alive and my husband is dead", said my friend. THAT MADE A BELIEVER OUT OF ME!
In one week I went from size 14 to size 6, a few months from 120 lbs to 108 lbs.
Back pain, an arched back, head aches, loss of breath, tiredness, etc all disappeared. The 24 hour/day taste of rotten food is gone too.
I pass this diet along to everyone I know. Thank you and God bless.
Quoted TextI lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks after starting this lifestyle. I'm still losing but now @ a reasonable rate...2 lbs a week. I've been soooo successful that I have people in my church getting the book & changing their lives....about 6 of us so far with more showing interest.
Quoted Texta friend told me about this. Immediately I bought the book and started the "diet" for type A-. I looooove this!!! It's so easy for me to do this! I'm feeling great only after being on it for about 5 days. My capri's are quite loose on me. I need a belt! I do not currently have a scale at my house to see if or how much weight I have lost, but the loose fitting capri's say enough! I am so grateful for her telling me about this. I love feeling good...FINALLY! I'm looking forward to seeing the continued positive changes as I progress!
Quoted TextThis new lifestyle isn't JUST about weight loss for me. It's about getting my body healthy and letting everything else fall into place.
I wasn't going to step on a scale at all during this, but now that I'm noticing that I can't wear my favorite pair of capri's anymore due to them being too big, I did step on the scale today and I'm down 7 pounds in just 4 days!
I've also noticed that I'm craving healthy foods, certain ones at that. Today I had fruit (alot) but I didn't have any greens or any other kind of veggie.(not feeling well...allergies) Later in the day I CRAVED veggies. I listened to my body and ate some and I feel so good!
Quoted TextI have been suffering headaches every day for the past 20 years or so.
so I had my blood work done 3 weeks ago, and i am a B blood type
i downloaded the Blood group diet app for my IPhone and i have been following it quite well, and i must say that i have NOT had a headache in 3 weeks and counting, if it doesn't work for anything else, i don't care, I am headache free for the first time in years.
4 weeks and STILL No headache. my mum says it's a miracle, i starting to believe her :)
Quoted TextI would just like to say I was a skeptic. Having dieted all my life and then the last 1 and 1/2 years gaining 60 pounds. I tried the low fat, no carbs, eating 5 healthy meals, no bread, no this and no that. My gynecologist also put me on a estrogen-testosterone pill (had a full hysterectomy 5 years ago) due to my rapid weight gain. I have always been very active, but had lost my energy, and moody. My boss read the book and came to work talking about it. I thought to myself, yeah, another quick fix to just gain it all back. But then I noticed his moods changing, for the better, and his gut getting smaller. Then my snl told me she had lost 5 lbs in one week. So I bought the book and have been playing with it for two weeks and now for two weeks I have been abiding by the right foods. I have not weighed, but the first two weeks I went from a 38 to 36 bra. Thank you lord. And now my "big" gril pants are getting too big. Of course growing up in Texas and my family have being in the cattle industry, the limitation of beef is mentally a hard thing. But I have not craved a steak. Although talking about it is making my mouth water for a ribeye. haha. But I am excited to learn more and experiment.
Quoted Texttestimonial: "I am currently a medical Technologist. I have always been curious since the moment I entered my field and started working on the blood bank, what were the effects of food on the blood. To my ignorance was the fact that many people had already asked this question before and studies had already been made. I started the diet and I must say SOOOOOOOOO very grateful I have placed it on my wall on facebook. Great Work!!! I think this is the future of health."
Quoted TextI've found the BTD corrected my thyroid problems when the meds didn't, though my doctors still refuse to believe that my thyroid healed itself without the use of medication even when my labs verify the results (silly doctors). Dr. D. wrote in the BT books that when Os follow the recommended diet, they'll naturally get enough iodine, which is needed to help regulate the thyroid. Chucking the carbs and adding in twenty minutes of walking twice a day almost instantly did the trick for me. I lost 30 pounds in two months the first time, and have had the same results this time around. The biggest thing is to listen to what your body is telling you it needs. We've been so conditioned to think that red meat is like the worst thing we could possibly eat, but if your body craves it, it's because it needs it. And for us Os, it's because it helps our thyroid.
And don't be afraid to stand your ground about your concerns with medication. Your doctor should be open to what you have to say about YOUR health. Medication should be the last resort in normal cases, not the first, used when all other approaches have failed and there's no other option left. Get second, or even third, opinions if you continue to have concerns, and if you feel that your doctor isn't listening to you and is forcing a course of treatment that you don't agree with, by all means: find another physician.
Quoted TextMy first day on the eat 4 your type. I am excited. Glad there are folks to talk to. Yesterday went grocery shopping and in my head kept passing the yummy and oh so addicting cheese.... shouting in avoid in my head. It was freeing. Also, the word BENEFICIAL!!! Change your thinking ... thus your actions will change. Thank God for the eat for-your type. I too am type O. Stay tuned for results. I am very excited.
Quoted TextJust a note to say
Its been nearly 18 months since my wife has complained of any arthritic pain! thanks to following the eat right diet for her blood type!
We have been married nearly 24 years and this has been the first time we have had rain and NO pain!!
As you may be aware it has rained nearly every day for June and July here in the uk, and No Pain!
Quoted TextMay you be blessed with many more wonderful years ahead! We are very lucky for being blessed with a person like you in life, your great knowledge has brought so much benefit to the believers out there and i am so very thankful to you for all that you have given us & helped us with.. I am one of those who have witnessed people curing themselves from sicknesses even major ones through your books which made me swear by them & would always be one of the first books I'd refer to a friend , You are a part of our daily life Dr.Peter :)God bless you.
Quoted TextYour body is going to regulate what it needs to first - what is most urgent, in order to establish homeostasis. This may be in the form of healing the gut first, then the endocrine system, then when all that is good, the other stuff will follow. I've been doing this since January of 2011. I started SWAMI in December of 2011. I have not lost weight because of this plan per se yet. However, my allergies are gone and I've eliminated 8 medications. I haven't been to the doctor since December of 2011. I haven't had cavities. I haven't had insomnia, PMS, etc. the weight must be the final step. I am finally starting to notice my body change, but it is slow. And those white lines are going to take a long time to go away. TY
Quoted TextI have eliminated the following medications: prescription allergy medication, nasal spray, eye drops, steroid inhalor, albuterol inhaler, steroid cream, painkillers for headaches, proton-pump inhibitors, laxatives, etc. I had acute GERD my whole life - GONE. I had environmental allergies since I was 6 weeks old - GONE, I had headaches since I was a toddler - GONE, I had atopy - GONE, I had depression on and off - GONE...All Hail SWAMI.
Quoted TextI recently took the saliva test and it came back telling me that I am an ABO se (non-secretor).
I am new at this and finally at peace with food allergies. "Eat Right 4 Your Type" is my food bible now. SMILE.
Thank you so much for this book. It gave me peace more than you know.
Quoted TextI haven't been to the doctor since December of 2011. I haven't taken any pharmaceuticals since January of 2012. I have no GERD. I have no depression. I have no headaches. I have no atopy. I have no wheezing. I save $120 month in medications. And $200 roughly per year in doctors visits.
Quoted TextI spent 4 years re-searchıng after ı was sıck and tıred of beıng sıck and tıred. I fınally got the answers I was lookıng for. I'm now paın free, 2 years and goıng strong! I dıved ınto the blood type - genotype, Lıve rıght for yr type books etc and many more people well known for theır food and supplıment theorıes. My results were as follows: Allergıes and ıntollerances are migraın and mental ıssue trıggers ın most people, provıded there ıs no underlyıng head trauma or condıtıons. That wıth the approprıate genotype dıet, and you wıll NEVER suffer agaın. I guarantee you success. Ive battled wıth huge problems for the last 10 years of my lıfe. Migraıns, lower back paın, stıff neck, and shoulders, chronic urtıcarıa\hıves, depressıon and mood swıngs etc and ıt was just gettıng worse. Now ım completely paın free, I lead a hıghly stressed lıfe (whıch I choose)and juggle more than most people can ever cope wıth. I have my dıet to thank for ıt. Before the dıet, I was takıng 6 myprodols a day just to maıntaın. There were tımes ı could no longer take days off work as ıt was lookıng bad, and I took up to 11 myprodols on those days just to keep my eyes open or keep my head up and not throw up from the paın. It sounds excessıve - but ıts 100percent true. These paınkıller doses were defınatly excessıve. Not a wıse decısıon at all! Im 38 and I was becoming a paın kıller junkıe and started to notıce my symptoms were very sımılar ıf not ıdentıcal to that, that my mom had years ago. I dont want to end up lıke my mom and started to worry when ı showed sımılar early symptoms of her aılements. Besıdes the blood and genotype dıet (whıch ı swear by) - somethıng was stıll problematıc wıth me. I stıll got migraınes. I decıded to run allergy tests to dıscover ım hıghly allergıc to daıry (ın all forms) - sugar - yeast and 48 other foods of whıch some were consıdered benefıcıal to me on the blood type and genotype dıets. Some of the foods were benefıcıal to my genotype - however my allergy test showed otherwıse. If I can make a suggestıon: Run an allergy test fırst. These here ın SAfrıca, test on about 290 odd food substances. Im not sure how thıngs are where you are based, however, ıts the BEST way to go about ıt. Then elımınate those allergıc trıggers and then stıck to your genotype - blood type dıet guıdelınes. I often trıed to test the theorıes and re-ıntroduced the foods that my blood tests saıd were allergy ıssues. I was man down ın mınutes after consumıng those foods. The migraıns set ın, ın a matter of mınutes. Once you clean up your dıet and re-ıntroduce the foods after a clean perıod, ıt becomes evıdent whıch foods do the harm. Even foods that were not allergıes but were consıdered avoıds on the genotype dıet, quıckly reared ıts ugly head and hurt my body or made me bloat and become sluggısh and ırrıtable. The blood and genotype dıets are ın my opınıon the way to go - however due to each of us all beıng ındıvıdual and dıfferent - ı would take ıt a step further and do an allergy test to elımınate allergen foods (as they mıght appear on your benefıcaıl lıst).
Quoted Textmy dad - dıagnosed wıth dımentıa. He suffered wıth severe hallucınatıons and forgetfullness. No doctor could fınd any problems and they decıded to gıve hım psycotıc meds. After 2 years of thıs 'maddness' and hallucınatıons, I ran an allergy test only to dıscover he too has all hıs mental - braın ıssues due to daıry, yeast and sugar allergıes. He ıs also gluten ıntollerant, so we removed those ıtems from hıs dıet. For the rest he ıs followıng hıs genotype dıet. It took dad 2 weeks to reverse hıs dementıa (whıch ı was told to accept as there ıs nothıng they can do to help hım anymore). Hıs neurologyst ıs shocked. He ıs 100percent and recently went through a full knee replacent at 70 years old. Dad went off to bed just now has he ıs up and about and preparıng for an ıntervıew tomorrow. Yes - he was approached to head up a constructıon sıte at 70. So much for hıs dementıa. To conclude - what you consume, dırectly affects your bodys workıng capabılıty. Food allergıes lead to chronıc condıtıons later ın lıfe - so ıf you know of any of your famıly members wıth cronıc condıtıons, the chances are you too wıll get them as .... Allergıes are hıredıtary NOT the condıtıon. So run a test and elımınate the allergıc foods - whatever they may be, then stıck to your genotype dıet. All the best. And know - you wıll be paın free.
Quoted TextToday, my mom a paın kıller junkıe ıs bed rıdden and cannot talk, walk or eat, after havıng had multıple strokes. She ıs peg fed (a tube that runs dırectly ınto her stomach). I ran the allegy test on my mom a month ago. She has been on a strıct O+\ gatherer dıet the last 4 years. I cook and blend the food and pour ıt ın her stomach. She showed even more mass ımprovement on her health when I changed to hormone free and organıc foods, yet her psorısıs was hectıc even on the dıets. Hence, the allergy test showed she had the same major allergıes as me but the odd one beıng egg whıtes and ıts benefıcıal to her geno dıet. She also showed sıgns of candıda ın the blood stream. I elımınated the egg whıtes and treated her for candıda and wıthın 2 days moms one lame leg has started movıng agaın - slowly and weak - but movement after 4 years. We were freaked out as you can ımagıne. Even her bowel ıs now ın her control. Sugar yeast and daıry trıggered moms megraıns for many years.
Quoted TextI recently bought your two books "Eat Right 4 Your Type and Live Right for your Type" Although someone talked about blood group and diet in the past I did not get into it until someone I follow for nutrition advice and exercises posted your link on her blog. After I read the book and decided to try the nutrition you suggest for my blood type which is group A, I have experienced several positive changes. The mucus I used to produce is almost gone and my digestive problems have almost all disappeared. These changes have taken me by surprise since I was always a fairly healthy-conscious person both in diet and exercise. I come from Cameroon, a country in the West Coast of Africa closer to the central African region. Most of the food items in your GT diet reflect the variety of foods grown in my country. Wish to help my people who live back home and do not have this important knowledge. Thank you for your work and for giving me a chance to experience feeling well. Gratefully,
Quoted Texttestimonial: " I have just started taking Trehalose complex.I hope to fend off neuronal damage. I do exercise every day and I definitely plan to continue. I am 64 now and I have been following Dr. D’Adamo’s blood type diet(for type A) for 11 full years now.I also have been diagnosed with both Multiple Sclerosis for 31 years to date and asthma for 12 years now. Both conditions are stable for me right now. I am ambulatory with a cane and/or a walker and my asthma is totally under control.I am very fortunate to be able to exercise at least 30 minutes” every day”. Along with following the blood type diet for ‘A’ blood type, and my exercise routine, as well as following Dr D’Adamo’s strategy of living well, they have all deeply influenced me in my life’s journey.I have only taken Trehalose for a short time but I do plan on continuing it’s use to help clear any cob webs that ‘tend to accumulate’. Thank you for reading the shorter version of my story. "
Quoted TextI'm such a fan of the BD. been following for 3 months and lost 20kgs and feeling great. I use the book regularly an the iPhone app, I brought the 'Cook Right for Your Type' book yesterday and would highly recommend it. Great ideas especially when your stuck for variety.
Quoted TextI am an+ wasn't easy living with a O that does all the cooking. I have not had beef or chicken in over a year and have never felt better. I recently. Tried some veal and was so sick later on. Best thing I ever did. I took it slow and a year later I am religious about it. Weight just falls off. I feel south better and I did t think I felt that bad to begin with. Now I know what it means to truly feel good.
Quoted TextI have 2 different types of Leukemia, Myeloblastic and Acute Lymphatic. Its in my bones, lymph, blood, liver and spleen are enlarged, and its in my spine. Leukemia is different than all other cancers and does not go by stages, but they told
me on a scale of 1-10, I was a 2 with both types of leukemia with 1 being the worst. I have done the BT Cancer Diet and I must say it HAS HELPED IMMENSLEY with my pain levels! I've also lost 50 lbs as an added plus, which takes me down to my goal weight! I had tried the BTD, GenoType, Cardiovascular prior to the Cancer one and could tell a noticable difference in my pain levels when I made the switch. I've now purchased the Swami to refine my results even more
Quoted TextI am a B, and was diagnosed with epilepsy 21 years ago, at age 14. My seizures had been well controlled for a while, but I still got a lot of auras when I went gluten free and started the blood type diet a couple of years ago. Doing that got rid of the auras and I have been able to decrease my anti-convulsant to a level that is considered to be sub-therapeutic. The Epilepsy Foundation of America now recommends that all new diagnoses be tested for Celiac disease, because gluten intolerance is a well documented cause of seizures. Not many doctors/neurologists follow this recommendation, though, which is a shame.
Quoted Text7 months since starting ER4YT...at 5'5" weighed 144lbs, now 125...cholesterol from 270 to 150...its been a long haul changing out NO foods over time...still have a ways to go, but not turning back to my old way of eating...feel TOO GOOD to regress back to my old ways...
Quoted TextWhat I like about this life style is I went to the web site and got all my information. I only purchased a small book to keep in my purse 5.99. My blood pressure is down and my blood sugar has been amazing! AND I've lost 17 lbs!! I refuse to spend money on books etc. I've spent years doing that just to yo-yo diet.
Quoted TextI just wanted to share my great experience with you! I have been following the blood type diet now for more than a year and a half and it has been the only thing that has kept me within my goal weight consistently. I'm not going to lie and say I've been perfect but I try to stay within my neutral to beneficial foods about 90% of the time. I created a new weight goal for myself three weeks ago and have only eaten beneficial foods with one neutral cheat a day....and the results have come quicker than I thought!!!! Even with exercise i still thought i had weeks to go. I haven't reached my ideal but I'm so excited to see some change because everyone knows the last five pounds are the hardest to lose :) thanks again for sharing this lifestyle change with me. It's a genetic given that I will inherit high blood and high cholesterol (ten years ago I did) so anything I can do to reduce my chances is great.
Quoted TextI am type A and have eliminated dairy and gluten and have lost sooo much weight, so quickly. I have always had issues with irregular thyroid...I'm excited to go to my doctor in a few more months and have her take new blood tests!
Quoted Text"I have been inspired to become an O eater again! I have been off the wagon since I got pregnant with my now 17 month old. I believe eating this way was why my husband and I conceived a baby after 12yrs of infertility issues."
Quoted TextMy hubby grumbled for Years about the Book, and then One Fine Day--became one of 'The Enlightened' He has now lost 42 pounds & I told him the other day "You'd better look out--someone's going to 'jump your bones' and He just Beamed" We are talking about a man who exceeded 300 pounds over the 17 years I've known him, and now he is weaning himself off the High Blood Pressure Meds, as they will Soon Be Unnecessary. He used to Love eating Chicken, and the Alopathic Doctors(Western theories) told him he had 'Irritable Bowel Syndrome' well, I guess So !!! Loose BM Everytime, but it is Not About Educating your patients here. I had a Gastroenterologist as a patient for more than 6 years, and one day he said "Ya know, Patricia---if all my patients read those books, I wouldn't have any patients" PS: Have a Good FriDay !
Quoted Text"I have bought and read and followed all of your books, and they've turned my health completely around! Thank you for your great work. I am an O and a Hunter and since I stopped being a vegetarian some five years ago I am regaining the vitality I had when I was in my twenties...slip up sometimes but it is easy to recover just by eating the foods that are beneficial and getting out on my bike or with my dogs. Your books are easy to read and the programs are easy to follow and truly life changing. lots of charlatans out there, you're not one of them!"
Quoted Text" I can relate. People do not want to hear how a dietary CHANGE (Not just a diet) can be so empowering and beneficial. It's like they feel threatened by the knowledge of something different that they know nothing about! I have taken the Blood
Type Diet very seriously and feel better than I have in 35 years.(I'm 51 now) 6 years ago I was sick and 30 lbs. heavier. I have a very petite build and I'm under 5 feet tall. so weighing 135 lbs and a size 10 pant was miserable for me. I tried everything to loose the weight, nothing worked. My doctor found I had a thyroid problem( typical of type 0). I take Levothyroxine now, everyday and coupled with this dietary change, it did the trick. People think I'm crazy....they have made fun of me,all because I refuse to eat like everyone else. Some do listen, mostly the ones who are sick, or have loved ones who are desperate to try anything because conventional medically prescribed methods just do not work. DUH! This is my 6th year and if anyone wants to lock me up for it......I'll turn the place upside down.......and tell anyone who will listen!!!! I wish you all the health and support in the world. And THANK YOU Peter D'Adamo for enlightening us with your wisdom and for your continued research that makes such a difference in our lives every day. God Bless You ♥ "

r felt better. I downloaded the app to my phone so I can check foods. I eat only beneficial and neutral foods and I never count calories or portion. I just stop when my body says enough. I've lost and kept off 25 pounds. Good luck. You will not regret learning and living by this food plan.
Quoted TextChanged my lifestyle because of your book 15 years ago! What a blessing!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your hard work and dedication, it is life changing.
Eat Right for Your Type Helps Fibromyalgia Symptoms
I have to believe one of my most pivotal points in the road to self healing was reading the book Eat Right for Your Type by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo. I had implemented a new diet regime, thanks to an elimination diet, but was still warding off the daily mini flare-ups that were bringing disdain to my life. And you know when you are in pain, negative emotions and thoughts begin to rule the day. I began implementing Dr. D'Adamo's benificial foods to my daily regiment and what I found was astounding. These simple additions to my diet decreased my flare-ups by 90%. Hence the truth, diet is 85% of fibromyalgia suffers pain. I can't state this enough, it may be time consuming, but your overall health is worth it.
Quoted TextSWAMI automatically calculates your genotype (less chance for error, which happened to me with the book).
I noticed a significant change in my hay fever allergies. For the very first time I didn't have to rely on over the counter medication to control it, my weight is more stable (clothes fit more looser) & menstrual cycle is less painful.
Quoted TextI LOVE your blood type diet. My husband & I were introduced to it in April. His daily heartburn ceased immediately. This has been a 15 year problem for him. His instant heartburn cure, made my decide to also incorporate the blood diet into my life. I had been diagnosed with IBS in the early 90's. I have always been interested in organic options, so never took the prescribed medications for IBS. Little did I know, the only thing I needed to do was follow your blood type diet! Since I have been following your diet, I no longer have IBS.
We are both non-secretors. Thank you!
Quoted TextIf, like me, you were quite ill when u 1st started the diet u notice an improvement after about a week. 95% of my symptoms disappeared completely after 10 days and never returned - 5 years worth of doctors, tests, etc didn't even scratch the surface. Dr D got it in one!!!!!
Quoted TextI purchased your book, 'Eat Right for Your Type', on October 13, 2001. I no longer suffer from Acid-Reflux.
I totally stopped eating chicken and bananas. I now eat ice cream in spells. I used to eat a pint of ice cream 365 days a year.
My blood type is AB NEGATIVE. I am an African-American female(60 ), and I have a thyroid condition.
I was already managing my diet due to my thyroid. However, after I read your book I refined my diet even more.
Your analysis of the AB Blood type is working for me.
Thank you for sharing your insight.
God Bless you
I live in Oshawa, Ontario Canada. I was recently discharged from the hospital for my third major Deep Vein Thrombosis. I am currently on Warfarin to help maintain therapeutic INR. I am also currently on Dr. D'Adamo's Type O diet and have been since I got home three weeks ago. I am happy to report that the diet is working fantastic and I'm already down 12 pounds simply by following the guidelines in Eat Right For Your Type. I have developed a more focused and health-conscious mind-set since being in the hospital and Dr.D'Adamo has been a real inspiration for me. Thank you for the guidance.
Quoted TextHello everyone! I am new here. I have not actually read the Eat Right for Your Type Book, I have just found information about it on the official website and in various places around the net. My friend suggested I check it out when I found out I had a dairy allergy. I find it quite interesting that type O should not eat dairy! When I cut out dairy, a wonderful miracle happened to me. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about ten years ago, and, when I cut out the dairy, my entire ( and I do mean entire) symptoms from bipolar vanished!!! This is better than any medication could ever be for me! Also, when I took the other set of advice from the website, by cutting out wheat, I feel even better!!!! It is amazing the clarity in which I see life now. And, finally, the scale is starting to move concerning my weight. I still need to get the book from the library, but I do have the basics..lol
Quoted TextI am a Type O as well and started following the diet eating mostly beneficial foods) about 4 months ago. I also started a vigorous exercise program as well jogging at least 3 miles everyday. I was always tired and sore before but now I average about 6 hours sleep a night and feel great. Just had my physical and my cholesterol level before was borderline high but now it is at 170 and blood pressure is also good. I just wish I could convince more type O's to try this diet because it sure has helped me. Forgot to mention losing 30 lbs. also
Quoted TextTestimonial and TY at dadamo.com: "Dear Peter'dadamo& Father 'eat right for your type',
I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for your research into this amazing detailed insight to give people the knowledge and power to help themselves!
I have been avid follower for over ten years and recently checked my secretor status. Made a lot of sense Blood group 0 & non secretor. Had large intestine removed and under active thyroid which I corrected when I became a Homeopath.
I suspect my father is non secretor who lives abroad and has had heart bypass, and sent him also to do the saliva test!
My Hats off to YOU and YOUR Wonderful Brilliant in-depth research you have given Mankind Generous GIFT!!! L., London UK"
Quoted TextI started the "diet" back in May and have lost over 20 pounds, thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! I need to find a Dr in the Milwaukee area preferably one that works with my UHC insurance. I'm 51 and on my way to losing my extra pounds, and my next step is smoking, I am exercising 6 times a week, I joined the Y so I have options to staying in shape but I don't want a Dr to supervise my health care using traditional methods. I want someone who understands your principles and will help me adapt to my body needs. I want to make sure I am doing " all the right stuff" to maximize my health and well being. Please add me to your mail-list for flyers, events etc. I want all that I can get out of this!!! Thanks you and Have a great day!
Quoted Text"I have been a blood type diet follower for years and love your research and products. I want to share with you how your vision has crossed over to my pets.
I have two dogs, one a pure breed Viszla and the other a rescue part Shepard, part retriever, etc. I had been feeding them the same food and the same amount. The Viszla has maintained a very good weight, but the rescue got so overweight that he started to limp when he walked and was miserable.
So it made me wonder if dogs had different blood types, and if the same reason I felt better on my diet might apply to him.
I found out there are 3 different blood types for dogs and since I had been feeding them a dog food that had rice as a first ingredient - I started to feed the rescue a food that had mostly meat and no grain.
Within 5 months he lost 20 pounds and is no longer limping and is not only healthier, but a much happier dog!
Thank you so much for all you do- human and canine"
Quoted TextMy husband and I both love your blood type food. I'm B, he's A. We are both non secretors. Your diet has changed both our lives and "cured" 2 common issues. His, heartburn. Mine, IBS
His heartburn was changed instantly, which made me decide to try it. I never expected it to "cure" by IBS.
Thank YOU Thank you. I am amazed that this is so unknown.
It is a cure all, I am certain.
Quoted TextI started the Eat Right For Your Blood Type mostly because I was having such terrible skin problems. 2 Weeks ago I committed and decided something had to be done. I didn't realize how much losing weight would be a side effect of the diet. I have lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks. The weight is just pouring off and I am excited because I could never get the scale to tip in my favor. I know this is the right life choice for me! Also, I already see changes in my skin!
Quoted TextI'd been dabbling in the ERFYBT for years when believe it or not, I got diagnosed with Crohn's disease....it finally explained my need for so much sleep! Buckling down and changing what I ate got rid of my symptoms. I hope my next colonoscopy shows what I suspect: that the ERFYBT is saving my GI tract. Cutting out wheat and reducing dairy for some of the rest of my family has made a big difference in their health as well. The fact that my kids know about the Blood Type Diet means that they know that they can make choices as they get older about how they want to eat. They already see the benefits in themselves, and in Mom. I find that coffee, wheat, dairy, and peanuts are the things I have cut out most successfully, but boy do I miss coffee! Now for the rest...
Quoted TextI've lost 10 pounds eating red meat for the last 2 years and have kept the weight off. I found that it is almost effortless keeping the weight off when I eat red meat. My stomach doesn't feel bloated or ill like it used to when I ate wheat products, peanut butter, and pork.
Quoted TextTestimonial dadamo.com: "Dear Dr. D'Adamo,
Thank you for your hard work and for your years of research! At the beginning of this year I had a number of health problems, mainly a bad uterus (fibrods) and severely anemic. I've had several surgeries with the doctor wanting me to return to the knife again.
I prayed to God and was directed to Eating based on my blood type. What can I say!?! I sleep all night, go to the bathroom at least once everyday, my blood sugar is regulated, my blood count is up, and no heartburn or acid reflux. My skin cleared up, hair is growing, I think clearer and without trying I am down 4 dress sizes and taken off 8 1/2 inches off my waistline. I lost over 30 lbs in my first 30 days!!! I have shared this information with over 50 people who just want to feel better.
I just wanted to share my 5 month journey of faithfully following this program, 8 months now and even though I wavered in the bread and sugar... I'm determined to make it a lifestyle change for my life.
I write my own recipes, but I've tried the listed ones also. Several family and friends want me to write a book about what I did.
This blessed my life and my husband and son encourage me daily by telling me 'avoid it' and that sounds so much more appealing than saying you can't have that.
Quoted TextCeliac was negative but I had inflammation markers. Since April, I have lost 30 pounds by just cutting out all gluten and dairy!
Quoted Text"Dear brother,
I appreciate the contribution you are doing to the globe. Since last week I came to realize eating according to my blood type plays a lot, after i had discussion with my chiropractic doctor, Selam, here in Ethiopia. she told me to read your book and yesterday I found and started reading. I found it very amazing and encouraging, even it changed my understanding and opened my inner eyes to see differently than before. now I am writing to you to have some help regarding written documents, specially your book. I am reading the Amharic version.

Quoted TextWOw what can I say I have been on the A diet I call it lifestyle and my wonderful partner is A also MY Italian fiance/ he has always had meat but has wanted to do this for many reasons, my thyroid swelling is going down his migraines are ceasing and our best friends (couple) are losing weight and one is starting to see her Hives slowing amazing. it is so much for us and fun to work out what to cook when we have each other over for dinner :) THank you ♥
Quoted TextI've been on the blood group diet ( type A) for 5 weeks. My Christmas stomach that Ive had since over indulging last Christmas has totally disappeared and my psoriasis is clearing up.
Quoted TextI went on O type diet in April this year due to very high blood pressure. Bought Dr D's book: Live right for yr type, ten years ago. Only started diet now. Lost 3 dress sizes and feel and look amazing (at 56 yrs I need it). Good luck!
Quoted TextHello Dr. D'Adamo. First of all thanks to you and all your people for this extraordinary work that you are doing; it's amazing how much this is helping to a lot of humans .I will start from the beginning; I'm a 44(45 in December)years old woman, virus c positive(diagnose in 1991 with a normal level of transaminase always), that I'm breastfeeding two little girls; one is 3'9 years old and the wee one is 13 months old. I'm a O rh - gatherer(i guess secretor) trying to follow your guidance since January this year. Well, I'm sure you have enough work with all of us, Thanks already, Mercè xx Love and health xx
Quoted TextHi, and thank you for your work. After being diagnosed with celiac disease, I stopped eating wheat, then since I was not bloated and in pain 100% of the time, I started noticing that other foods hurt me and after about a year I learned about lectins and then the list made sense ! You are definitely the best source of information I found on lectins. Your book is great.
Quoted Textguess I should add my two cents...2 years ago, I came out of a hemorrhoid surgery with a surprise. The general surgeon said I didn't have significant hemorrhoids, and he certainly couldn't operate on them because it was highly likely that I had Crohn's disease, and suggested I follow up with a GI guy. I had already dabbled in the ERFYBT diet out of interest, but once I got this diagnosis, I re-read the books and went strictly on the diet. Within a week, my symptoms were gone. Since then, I've paid attention to symptoms I didn't know were symptoms, like chronic fatigue, and saw that my diet really made a difference. So now I have SWAMI, and am working on adjusting my diet according to Dr. D's suggestions, and my body's cues. I hope to have things in working order when i see a new GI guy in December, and am hoping for a good colonoscopy (sorry if TMI) after that. I'm still not perfectly following the diet, but getting closer...chocolate? that's hard to give up.
Quoted TextType A
I have been on the diet almost what, six months now? Am almost completely compliant, don't miss meat (yuk!), nor dairy, not even bread. And that was my weakness. I would take butter on toast over a steak any day. But cutting the bread was what I needed to do away with my arthritic pain.
I had heard about this years ago in my twenties and tried it for a bit. But when you're young you don't often care until you gotta pay it back when you're older. So glad I "re"found it and don't think I'll ever go back. I feel too good. ;D
Quoted Texta massive hello to all my fellow A groupies!!!!! just joined not long ago and its so nice to know im not the only one who eats according to my blood group!!!
ive been eating like this for 2 years now and have lost almost 40 kg's. (after 2 kids)
Quoted Text"Dr.D'Adamo, I have a couple of your books in my personal library and they take pride of place amongst the many I have on health and fitness. Your explanation and reasoning, supporting your ideas is very logical and refreshing from someone with the letters of Dr. in front of their name. Obviously you are more interested in real health and helping man than in the support of the Drug companies.
Bravo to you sir, you Dr.D'Adamo are a revolutionist and I can only hope that more persons interested in healing do so along the true line of natural means than that which is the norm. Thankyou."
Quoted TextDear Dr. Adamo,
since more than 10 years I am enjoying the benefits of blood type diet. Thank you. This diet changed my life and helped to get rid of a lot of health challenges that I was busy with since my childhood.
Quoted TextI heard about the blood group lifestyle many years ago (2004) but got the result back wrong from dr's thinking i was B. Ate wrong piled on weight and decided this isnt for me and left it alone. In 2008 had my first boy, rocketed up to 105kg from 75kg. Knowing we wanted more kids didnt really do much to loose weight.
We were blessed with another baby boy and once again i rocketed up to 105kg. But this time there were a few problems. One morning i woke up and remembered the 'blood eating thing' so got off my tushy and googled it etc. Had my step mum who has lived by this for almost 20 yrs to help....Obviously i was cleaning my blood. I had massive headache for days. A lot of mucous in the mornings. But then as of the 4th week it was refreshing! For the first 6 months i was loosing 2.5kg a week!!!! I am now very proud to say im 70kg and happy with it esp after having 2 gorgeous boys. I went from size 16 TO 10 in 2 years. i want everyone to be happy and healthy!!! Thank u xo
Quoted TextI have tried. I have seen my fathers and sisters health diminish with the introduction of excessive quantities of chicken (and tomato and corn.) I grew up not eating chicken because my father (the B) never liked it and my mother (O) thought the hormones in it made children go into premature puberty. My family has even witnessed my health improve because of this lifestyle - this coming from a woman who grew up as a very sick girl. I was always in the doctor's office, always on antibiotics, etc. My sister tells her doctor friends about me, how I reversed GERD, allergies, depression, anxiety, fatigue, etc. She tells everyone. My mother does the same. Yet, they cannot find a way to do it for themselves.
Quoted TextI also started taking magnesium about 3 weeks ago, am fighting, and believe winning the battle, against MS. Had speech, vision & balance issues, found the GenoType diet, started it and added magnesium and noticed an improvement in 20 minutes, but it would wear off after several hours.
Now, about 3 weeks later, I notice a lengthier gap between taking the magnesium and symptoms, my voice is improving, vision is way better, I believe I will have to go for an eye exam very soon, and I no longer feel like I will fall down all the time, and I feel less 'passing out tired' in the daytime, it had got that bad!
A thousand, no, million, thanks to Dr. D'Adamo who I believe saved my life.
This way of eating is definitely the way to go for health. And such a simple change too.
Such a pity I wasn't taught all this when way younger, just glad I know now.
Quoted TextAs a newbie to the blood type diet I went out to dinner tonight just to an all you can eat off course that sounds so hilarious now.being a type A was good as gold and headed for the salad bar to find nearly everything had mayonnaise in it or was deep fried so still sticking to plan I ate fish grilled veggies followed by lettuce red onion and cucumber and squeezed lemon on top.quite nice.i must say after a day a d a bit of trying this I can't believe I went to an all i can eat and was a good girl.conclusion I'm not bloated and for once didn't have to undo the button on my jeans what a miracle
Quoted TextI, too, have MS and have been blessed that mine had been intermittent for most of the 20+ years. These last few years, as I crossed into 50, I was active far more often than not which led me to find the Genotype diet. After a month on it I can also say that I am stronger, better balanced and my sight is clearer. I sleep better, wake up with energy and don't become exhausted by midday as before. My headaches are gone and I feel amazingly better. I have not used any magnesium supplement - only the three suggested for the Warrior Diet and they have made a great difference.
I never actually thought I could go back to feeling like I did before becoming so sick..it had been awhile. Many thanks to Dr. D'Adamo and his staff for doing this. What a great way to make a difference in this world.
Quoted TextI have been eating for my blood type for the last 2 months. Prior to discovering this diet, I regularlly excerised and watched what I ate, but still had difficulty maintainng my weight. Anyhow, when I woke up this morning and weighed 162 lbs. (8 lbs. less than when I was discharged from the US Army 18 years ago), I knew that following blood type diet was the reason. I was so
happy, that I wrote a poem (I've never written a poem before today). It is goofy and I apologize for the language, but I just wanted to thank you. By the way, I am an "A".
‘Twas the year after ought 11
Leigh & Bryan were full of leaven.
A special diet they did need
to make them thin as a reed.
The Blood Type Diet they did find
one that neither did mind.
Less wheat and dairy
made their bellies merry.
And in no time they both could pitch
look at me, I’m a skinny b__ch!
Quoted TextHappy 1 yr ABO diet to Me! Last Nov my vegan friend told me about the ABO. I read the book, bought the app, and saw a consultant. I hit the door running and havent looked back. We are meeting up tomorrow for lunch too.
I encourage you all to keep at it and continue to feel Great!
Quoted TextI've been following the ER4YT since January. I haven't followed it exactly, but have cut out what I consider the big no nos: wheat, corn, pork, potatoes, vinegar, and dairy. So far with minimal exercise, life seems to get in the way of regular exercise this year, I've lost 25 pounds in 10 months and minimized the chronic headaches I had last year. I'm grateful to be able to make changes that allow me to feel better and improve my health.
Quoted TextI Love me some Dr. D'Adamo!! After being vegetarian for nearly 20 yrs. when I met Dr. D' & he told me I needed to eat red meat 3/4 times per week, I freaked out. We went back & forth w/pros & cons for about 12 mins. But he was very convincing. I no longer suffer w/ chronic fatigue, strep throat, my thyroid levels are normal & so is my weight. I still struggle with eating enough red meat, but I've eliminated oranges, dairy & wheat gluten, my most damaging poisons.
Quoted Text"I have been following the blood type eating right lifestyle for 13 years and the GenoType for the past 5 years. It is amazing how our bodies begin to teach us what is right for it and especially, what is wrong for us. I highly recommend trying it for 1 month. I believe you will see a difference and will begin the healing process."
Quoted TextI'm O...I had gotten away from eating red meat because they said red meat was not good for people...3 years ago I cut way back on eating red meat & I was always tired...since January 2012 I have been eating red meat most days for breakfast & lunch...I now have energy to do things...I now longer get so tired in the afternoon that all I want to do is sleep...but each O is different...what works for one does not work for another...you can try slowly eliminating meat from your diet, but I do not know any O who has good results with a no meat diet...peace of mind is very important
Quoted Textoff of sugar now...and pain in my arthritic back disappeared. Not surprising bc I found out that sugar and simple carbs cause inflammation. So, no dairy, wheat, gluten, corn, peanuts, tomato, sugar, soy, potato, breads or processed foods, even if they are gluten free.. Still finding plenty of yummy things to eat, and my GI feels a WHOLE lot better : ) Somehow not eating chocolate either. But red wine? yup. Got wine. Got probiotics. Got onions, green leafies, and meat, so I'm good.
Quoted TextIn 1998 I found out that I was wheat & yeast sensitive. I had severe case of chronic fatigue - functioning abt 4 hours a day only.
Then I watched a late night pbs program, went to see dr J in brentwood and adhered to her very strict system and Chinese herbs til better. However, after that - I had NO QUALITY of life on that system. Couldnt go out for a coffee tea or cocktail or eat at restaurants etc. It wasnt until I discovered Eat right for your blood type book that Ive been happy healthiest and most balanced! I believe Ive been following this system for abt ten years or so and have shared with most friends seeking advice. (I dont proselytize). Anyway, something popped up saying there's not enough evidence of this? BS Im living proof this works to the endth degree! Thank you Dr D'Adamo for all your hard work! Please continue!
Quoted TextA good friend loaned me the book, EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE, upon hearing that I had just broke my ankle and had time to read.
6 weeks into the type O diet, I realize that this may be one of the most important events in my life. I was just over 250lbs before the accident and I am now 215lbs and have not lost muscle tone and strength but have gained it. my blood pressure was about 155/95 (with medication)and is now 147/77 with half the medication. I have not been able to do much cardiovascular training a only very limited strength training due to my condition. When I am back on my feet, I may have a more shocking story to tell. I enjoy the diet and am fully content with no cravings of the so-called 'healthy foods' I once lived on. Truly a miracle, this is not a gimmick.
Quoted TextI've been following Dr. D'Adamo's diets (first the Blood Type Diet and now the GenoType Diet) for many years. I was obese and not only have I lost 96 lbs and have kept it off for several years now, I am so profoundly more healthy, I couldn't even begin to describe it in one comment. But yes, lectins and how they interact with one's blood type, are a huge and classic part of Dr. D'Adamo's blood type diet recommendations. The GenoType Diet is his latest work and takes into account other "hard-wired" characteristics about you, as an individual, too, in addition to your blood type. Basically, the diets are nutrigenomic, in that they are about how specific foods interact with your specific genetic hard-wiring. Dr. D's diets teach you which foods to choose that will minimize your genetic weaknesses and maximize your genetic strengths. I highly, HIGHLY recommend both the Blood Type Diet (this is the one to start with, for beginners, in my opinion--it is simple and the foundation of everything) and the GenoType Diet.
Quoted TextI am now concentrating on the Geno-Harmonic combinations -on page 30-31 of my report - and my brain/system notices the difference practically daily, plus the items are so easy to get, like pecans, colby cheese, green tea or carob, BS molasses, sardines...Sticking otherwise to the SWAMI superfoods or even Neutrals. e.g. dinner tonight was ground beef (N, had run out of ground turkey, but have an O+ Hunter husband) with onions & celery & green peas in a no-tomato pasta sauce (carrots, beets, sea salt & spices) with brown rice pasta spirals with shredded cheese on top. And I had a Unibar for dessert as the banana bread had finished..It's 1 Day At A Time here but I am very hopeful of a complete recovery.
Have told my sister, insulin diabetic, about the BTD, GTD and SWAMI, and going gluten free, listed the Gatherer Superfoods, which she likes, she's trying them and says she feels HOPE now. And, by the way, both hubby & me lost 35lbs each and are maintaining. Think this is more than I've eaten in my entire life!
A very Happy New Year to you!
Quoted TextSince starting ER4YT in January 2012, I have lost 15 lbs., cholesterol had dropped to 160, my arthritis pain is gone & I'm no longer wearing braces on both my hands, I have no pain or burning in my feet from the Neuropathy, I no longer fight to stay awake in the afternoons and I no longer have what I thought was year-round allergies [it was due to gluten]...Thank You all for your support, encouragement and answers to my question to get me to where i am today...God Bless You all and Happy New Year!!!!
Quoted Text" I just read the Wikipedia article on secretor status. I found out when I read you first book that Blood Type O should avoid wheat, corn and potatoes due to the lectins affecting the pancreas' production of insulin.
When your GenoType diet book came out, I looked at the characteristics of a Hunter and knew right then, with the adrenaline, weight gain of aforementioned foods, long lower legs, longer legs than torso and ballistic immune system, that that was me and have tried to follow the diet. Due to the fact that I don't remember what food is super, medium or avoid, I do stray. But once I refresh my memory, I avoid that food from then on.
What irked me is people like me are being positively affected by your books, but the medical community (Hippocratic oath notwithstanding) won't back you up. They wouldn't get behind Dr. Batman when he proposed our medical problem is due to dehydration, either.
I think it is time we happy Hunters, Gatherers, Teachers, Explorers, Warriors and Nomads take to the media we can and get the word out. The medical community is largely on the bandwagon of the NIH and their mantra "it takes a pill to cure it". "
Quoted TextThis doctor saved my life! I am so glad I found out my blood type 7 years ago. I am type B, and I stopped eating chicken and corn, which is toxic for my blood type. It made a dramatic difference in my health in just two months. I had been on Prednisone for 20 years every day for allergies. But 2 months after avoiding chicken and corn I was like a different person. I NO LONGER needed Prednisone for inflammation. My allergist could not explain it. You can get a test in the mail to see what your blood type is. I got one for my husband from Amazon.com, and found out he is blood type A. The test cost about 5 dollars... go to amazon.com and then search "Eat Right 4 Your Type Home Blood Typing Kit with Eldoncard"
Quoted TextI am studying physio and there is loads of extremely relevant research which is not taught in the degree course and used by professionals in hospitals. That info and following this diet has cured my scoliosis, whereas conventional hospital treatment made me worse, by inserting metal rods in my back and covering up the painful inflamed areas I so needed to address.
a common problem I see includes research only focusing on each health professionals own specialty and often only one treatment on it's own. Dieticians do not seem to have very high status in the NHS and the degree is incredibly hard with so much complex biology
Quoted TextHi Doctor, You saved my life 7 years ago when I stopped eating chicken and corn. I am sure I would not be here today if it were not for what I learned. I had been on steroids for 20 years and my blood could no longer tolerate it. THANKS! TO YOU AND YOUR FATHER! I AM NOW HEALTHY!
Quoted TextI was at my last resort when I found the diet. 50 pounds overweight, sleeping all the time, and the depression was getting worse. I will never go back to my old eating pattern. After I started, I found out that I am gluten intolerant that I didn't have before the tubal. It was proof that the diet was the right thing to do and as the weight started to come off, every doctor said oh the meds must be working. When I told them I stopped my depression pills and said its all diet, they were shocked. It's amazing what an effect surgery can have on your body and how food can heal. My thyroid I still take medication but a low dose, hormones are still working themselves out and 20 more to lose. I am a completely different person than I was a year ago.
I just wanna thank you.I'm in South Africa.I bought the book "Eat right for your type" and followed the O blood type plan.It has helped me a lot.I noticed the difference within a week after eating the right stuff and going to the gymnasium.I was always tired, having heartburn, the body pains.I was taking pain tablets everyday.Since I started that's all history.
I'm feeling healthy and well and I lost weight. I'm was wearing size 42 but now I wear size 38.
Quoted TextOMG - I can not rave enough over the meal planner/ recipes/ type beneficial listings/ easy to see compatibility of foods for different blood/geno types/ shopping list a whole weeks worth (or more) instantly! Having 2 different types this is incredibly helpful, if SWAMI determining your genotype is the "cake" this is the icing and cherry on top! Quoted Textas soon as I removed "all the grains" containing gluten, the diagnosis for Fibromyalgia and under-active thyroid went away and the MD "refused" to write a prescription for my thyroid med's. She said I was over dosing on the smallest script she could write!
Honestly, I became pretty worried about not having the thyroid med's because I was terrified of symptoms returning but I feel better now than I have in many many years.
Quoted TextJust wanted to thank Dr D'adamo for turning my life around in only 5 months, i lost 35 pounds and have more energy. i had severe arthritic pain, that now has lessened by at least 60 percent. Thanks again for making total sense with the whole "eat right for your type" idea.
Quoted Text"I have MS and have been blessed that mine had been intermittent for most of the 20+ years.
What a great way to make a difference in this world."
Quoted TextJust wanted to give a shout out to whoever came up with the BTD. I'm an O...and being chronically sick and having a difficult time eating just about anything, everything seemed to make me worse...I gave lamb a try and for the first time in a long time, I actually felt really good after eating....so a big whoop whoop for the BTD, and thanks creator of! ♥
Quoted Textyeah .... seventeen months of hard work and sacrifices......... result -30 kg .......... I'm proud of myself..........I love myself .....♥♥♥ thanks thanks thanks to Dr. Peter D'Adamo ♥♥♥
Quoted Text"I was trying to follow the typical low fat, high carb diet and was miserable. I remembered seeing your book ER4YT. It made sense but I didn't do anything about it. But the more I thought about it the more sense it made. I remembered reading in another book that there is a mushroom that is poisonous to some people and not others. How could that be if we are all the same? Anyway I purchased the book (ER4YT) and have been following your recommendation for about eight months now. I feel about 15 years younger. Thank you."
Quoted TextDr. D, you have my support. I'm a healthier person thanks to your teachings, and I spread the word as I go along.
Quoted Text"I have been on the Type B diet for 2 weeks, and am already seeing and feeling amazing results. My Lupus rash that has plagued me for decades is going away. My varicose veins are improving daily. Visibly. My mind is clearer. I do miss chicken. I am learning to have new favorite foods. My youngest daughter, who still lives with me, is an O and she is more reluctant to give up the things that are bad for her,but she is trying. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge with the world. "
Quoted Textfrom one B to another...this diet saved my life.
About 4-5 years ago, i was a mess. Chronic migraines (3-4 a week), chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, allergies, UTIs, brain fog, blood sugar issues, digestion problems, sinus issues....just to name a few. It was so bad that i was unable to work.
When i started to follow BTD, i started slowly, by increasing my beneficials, and i eliminated an avoid or 2 every few weeks. And within a few weeks, i started to feel better. Once i eliminated CHICKEN however, wow what a huge difference!!! Within a few short weeks...my fibromyalgia WAS GONE... it was so noticeable my massage therapist actually stopped the massage to ask me what i had done. She described my muscles as previously being lumpy and ropey and hard (like the rumble strips on the highway) and my skin was puffy and inflamed all the time. Now I had normal, supple muscle tissue. This inspired me to follow super compliantly (ie no wheat, no chicken, no corn, etc etc)
I am now a completely different person. Last year i had only 3 migraines... compared to the 3 - 4 per week that i had been having for years. I no longer take any medications. I do not have any of my chronic issues like CFS, Fibromyalgia, Depression. My allergies and sinus issues are almost non existent. I have no chronic health issues now. I am healthy and more active than i have ever been. I think better, i am less overly-emotional, more grounded, happier. I even look different now... much healthier, younger looking.
I live a busy and stressful life (long distance relationship, a lot of travel, i run my own business, etc) but i handle the stress so much better than ever. I am enjoying being able to actually LIVE instead of EXIST.
Thank you to those who thought, really thought about the information and user friendliness of this software - save up and get your SWAMI!
Quoted Textlast summer I was wearing hand braces due to my arthritis...I followed Dr. D's book for Arthritis. Today I am pain free and no longer wear the hand braces...I cut out all nightshade plants
Quoted TextI met an md compounding pharmacist who told me that "nothing" has ever made more sense than blood diets. My wife's doc uses this diet and she has survived a terminal illness long past her "end" date.
Quoted TextIt's only been about 2 weeks and I've already noticed a remarkable difference!!! The pains are gone (except when I cheat) and the gas has subsided significantly. Thank goodness a fellow therapist turned me on to this info----- for I was really concerned about professional and social issues regarding my digestive disorders.

Some of my glasses are too strong now. My joints are experiencing WAAAAY LESS pain much MORE free range of motion. RollerCoaster moods thru high stress are balanced & near non existent when stress heightens. Started Pilates. Lunch seems to be the buggers... Also important as center of day. I'll get it the other benefits are awesome. Looking forward to more & enhanced have to get back into swing of nothing from can, box, or bag. LOL
I'd say SCORE!!
Quoted Text"Dr.D'Adamo, thank you for all your research. It has given light to why my body behaves to terribly to certain foods. For several years, I have been able to stop eating most of my "avoids". I have been greatful for my improvements, at the same time I have gained this great feeling of personal empowerment! I am a pharmacist, and have recommended your books to many of my customers. I see them taking so many pills to treat things that they could possibly eliminate, by only adjusting their diet. Drugs can cover up provlems that could easily be avoided on our own. Why not avoid such ailments by simple nutrition changes? We have this choice.
I thank you again for your work, and bringing light to why I was the only one in my circle that got sicker than a dog eating crab or lobster. It was clearly not an allergy........ and now it is explained. I'm that lucky 5%!"
Quoted Textyeah .... seventeen months of hard work and sacrifices......... result -30 kg .......... I'm proud of myself..........I love myself .....♥♥♥ thanks thanks thanks to Dr. Peter D'Adamo

Quoted Text"Walked into a resale boutique this morning that I frequent, and the Owner said he did not recognize me at first glance because I look much younger. I told him it's the GenoType diet I'm following, and before I knew it, he and all other patrons were inquiring! I had all their interest and attention."
Quoted TextAll I have to say is, a "diet" that allows me to remove 10 plus pharmaceuticals from my life is amazing. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Quoted Textfollow-up colonoscopy today two years after the first (which is when I decided i better go on the type-O nonnie diet, bc my colon looked like I might have Crohn's Disease). Looked great according to Doc today...if that isn't an endorsement, I don't know what is! I haven't been perfect, but I've been very good about this diet. Thank you Dr. D, and all of you for your support!
Quoted TextOver two years ago now I had to compare different diets in an assignment for my natural therapies course, as soon as I saw blood type diet I was drawn to it! Within a few days i found the genotype then of course i had to get swami!
I asked my family to try it for a month.... just give it a go, during the first week my husband (type O+) asked why we couldn't continue eating this way forever! (bless him, I wasn't going to tell him that was my intention or he may have felt overwhelmed & i thought he would be the hardest to convert:)
Quoted TextI had heard about it but not until my second baby was starting to get colic behavior did I try it. Within a couple days of me eating this way her colic symptoms stopped and that was enough for me. Then over the last 3.5 yrs I've been hooked. Feel much better when eating swami vs just O nonnie.
Quoted TextI wanted to say that my life has been forever changed thanks to your diet!!!! Thank you!!!! I have had heartburn for over 30 years, took tons of medicines and had no relief except for when i was on nexium but then heard the horrible side effects of bone fractures caused by all the heartburn medicines on the market. Then a friend told us about your diet and we bought the book. At first we were not sold on the idea that the right food would make any difference, plus there would be lots we would have to give up. The heartburn became sooooo unbearable, no matter what I tried; I was willing to try anything. It has been a couple of months and I can honestly say the diet works!!!!! I have lost weight, feel healthier, but most important, I am not constantly feeling heartburn, I can sleep at night, and my body is beginning the true healing from eating right!!!!
Quoted TextI did the ERFYT diet (A type), moved on to genotype (A + type Teacher), then found out my secretor status, as it really does make a difference. I was pretty sure I was a secretor (bananas killed my stomach), but had to know. Now SWAMI helps to hone all this down.
Quoted Text"I am an O+ nonnie Hunter and for me it was a progression. I started with the Blood Type Diet, but I knew I still needed more. I then went to the Genotype Diet and again felt like I was still missing something. Next, I invested in my SWAMI, but still I wasn't feel as well as I thought I should be. Finally, I did the secretor test. Once I had all of the information and began to follow my individualized program, the way I felt improved by leaps and bounds. My worst symptoms disappeared and my energy improved."
Quoted Textour son is a diet controlled diabetic with NO health problems all thanks to the B T diet and now the geneo type .....O hunter, he is 21 and sticks to it
Quoted TextWeightloss, stomache issues-gone, headaches-gone, skin rash-gone, stinging feet-gone, joint pain-gone, reflux – gone, chronic sinus infection - gone….shale I go on?
Quoted Text"I am O and I started the blood type diet45 days ago.
I was having extreme skin problems. I have been to dermatologists, allergists and general doctors. Nothing seemed to help.
so my friend Karen bought me a book and a kit.
after 45 days of eating beneficial foods, eliminating the bad foods my skin has cleared up, I have lost 9 pounds and I have more energy and sleep better at night.
Quoted TextI am a true lover of the ER4YBT supplements. I have been on and off of them for over 1 year now. I just got my blood work back from the doctor and I am no longer anemic, glucose is normal , blood pressure is normal and chorlestrol. I am all good!!!! These supplements work if you take them!!!~ Eating right and exercise helped as well."
Quoted TextHello there,
I came to you in 1993 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I would just like to let you know that I am still here , celebrating 19 years of survival!Thank you so much,
Quoted Text"I have been eating according to my blood type since the first book came out-- and have been following along with all of the innvovations. I currently use a personalized SWAMI. Living with this way of eating and taking care of myself has changed my life tremendously for the better... my health, my state of mind, my ability to cope... and I have recommended it to countless friends."
Quoted TextGood morning,
I love your books and the concept of eating "right" according to ones blood type! I've been on this "diet" (lifestyle CHANGE, I like to call it), for several months now, and the "fat" weight has been dropping like crazy, and my energy level has soared...once you learn your foods, it's EFFORTLESS!!! I am always content (hunger-wise) and my weight is EXACTLY where I want it to be (after struggling with the 40-something tummy tire/hormonal issues for years!).
Quoted TextYes the A type diet has stopped my allergies in their tracks. Six months ago I was so bad I was going to have allergy shots again (had them over 12 years ago and they were great) anyway havent had one reaction to painting/dust etc during renovations or garden stuff or pollution whereas I was having a sinus/flu type reaction at least once a week so from that point of view I am wrapped. Have only lost a kilo or so but have lost quite a bit of flab from the rear end and had to drop a jean size! I was a huge red meat eater and although I had limited most dairy and wheat over the past few years I have now changed my grains and put back a bit of yogurt/feta. I love yoga and tai chi and like so many other As dont know why I forked out $$$ for gym memberships for years that I didnt enjoy. I think for me the A type diet is the way to go and will do the swami in a few months
Quoted TextAlmost twenty years ago, when I was in college, I came across the blood type diet and tried it (strictly for weight loss). It was fantastic, and I loved it! Then I met my husband, and caved to his love for bacon and steak and all things meaty. Now, 15 years later, I am about 60 lbs overweight, I am diabetic, and desperate to get healthy again. I was going through some boxes in storage last week, and I found my old Eat Right For Your Type books. I convinced my husband to try it with me (he is also a type A and overweight). We have been eating the type A diet for about 5 days now, and we both feel fantastic! We have a long way to go to get "healthy" again, I know, but we are determined to stick to it and make it work! Thank you for welcoming us to your supportive community here - I am looking forward to meeting you all and sharing new ideas!
Quoted TextMy nails have always been very brittle and dry. Within a months time, they are thicker, fuller and shiny. ....now that, is a wonderful side effect!!!!
My ankles are normal again, I've learned that wheat keeps my hands and ankles inflamed and that's the culprit that has kept me from losing weight. I have eliminated wheat from my system since February 2, and I've lost 16 lbs. Me! having no thyroid and nine months smacked into menopause. The good news...my doctor is just as astounded as I am and has been reading ER4YT!
Quoted Text"I want to thank you for giving me my life back. I first started the diet about two years ago when I was suffering from the effects of multiple medication including oral, nasal, ophthalmic steroids. I was in the middle of a rigorous academic program and could not function for more than 2-3 hours a day. I ended up leaving the program due to my faculty mentors moving on to different institutions. Due to the GenoType Diet improving my health drastically, I am able to continue on my journey and participate in an even more rigorous academic program as a fellow in a highly competitive scholarship program. I literally owe you my health, life, academic career (and future career path), and well-being! Thank you thank you thank you! Even if I am about 80% compliant on a daily basis, my health has improved so much I am much better than when I first started the GTD!"
Quoted TextThanks To Dr. D., SWAMI and the BTD/GTD, YES, I really believe I am on the mend now, especially as I am being real careful to stay compliant, and it's not hard to do'
I love the 3 meals a day, not counting calories or sizes and losing weight down to what I'm meant to be.
My younger sister and my mom seem converted too, mom and sis have been to the clinic in CT, guess it's my turn next, I am just resolving some big computer problems at my house and recovering a bit before I feel ok to travel.
SWAMI really works, especially the Geno-Harmonic combinations, weird though some of them seem!
We were not taught when growing up how important WHAT we ate was, if it tasted good we'd eat it. And for a normally extremely healthy person, with not even a cold in about 4 years, I had such a shock! MS, an incurable disease! I guess after the shock, and a LOT of prayers, my detective instinct kicked in, that's how I stumbled upon, or got 'Sent to', the BTD and GTD books and diets.
It's a pity it isn't faster, but I didn't get this way overnight, it just seems like One Day, One Cell at a time!
With no effort I am now at my early 20s weight, and my O+ husband also lost 40lbs. It's very hard not to preach when people see me after some time and notice the size difference! And I am having fun learning to cook in a totally different way. (I love my banana bread with rice flour and agave, so do son and hubby!)
Oboy, Easter's coming up soon, that's more recipe hunting!
Quoted TextType O: I have stopped eating wheat products, eg. bread, pancakes, pasta, etc. and no longer drink coffee. Within 3 days swelling & pain in my knees (diagnosed as arthritis) has been reduced greatly. I am in the process of trying to make Ezekial bread and Essene bread. TY!

Quoted TextType A- Beneficial and Neutral since January. Lost 20 Pounds so far. Feel Great... I miss Spaghetti today,, no true substitute for the tomato but it's not worth it to cheat. Instant inflammatory response, misery for days... thanks Dr D. You're the Man, truly
Quoted TextThe most insightful theories, and proofs, about nutrition that i have come across. If it works ..it works...what more do you need.
Quoted TextI began the ER4YBT about 20 days ago. As a type O Positive, I naturally follow the ease into it process. I am almost 70 and I have gone from having to take a laxative 3 times a week to not having to take one at all. This is a big plus for me. Of course I am also doing whole foods blending in the morning, however, I can tell when I eat something I should avoid. My body has an immediate reaction. Thanks so much for your time and study.
Quoted TextRice pasta is great! Then when I cheat use an organic sauce with turkey or meatless meatballs...never thought u would like them but they r yummy
My husband & I have been eating like this for a year now I have lost 54 lb. my husband 27lb. TY!
Quoted TextThanks Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo! I've reached my goal of loosing 50 pounds on the A plan and never see myself looking back. Thank you for the proper info for an awesome lifestyle change.
Quoted Textmy experience: I am A+, I went from 185lbs to 140 eating like it was my last meal at every meal. I had plaque in my carotid and femoral arteries that is now gone. I was anemic my whole life (but no more). My cholesterol has gone from 210 to 141. My triglycerides went from off the chart to 110. Every single blood marker that was out of range is now in range. any questions?
Quoted TextI was about fifty pounds overweight with chronic joint pain and frequent bouts of gout. When I learned from an oncologist that I "needed a complete hysterectomy" I finally faced the need to make smarter food choices. I never went back to the oncologist but I kicked the cervical pre-cancer, along with the joint pain, general overall inflammation, gout, and body fat. I now weigh about 125-127 every morning, about the weight I was when I graduated high school, and I'm 69 now. I really am a true believer in the BTD. I'm a Type O Non-secretor.
Quoted TextI cannot believe how much my skin has cleared up! Without makeup I feel normal and I no longer have painful, inflamed acne everywhere! My confidence has been boosted significantly. I literally cried with happiness the other evening after washing off my makeup! I looked in the mirror and saw ME, not my ugly skin. Anyone who has ever doubted Dr. D'Adamo's theories and scientific studies is crazy. He is a genius, because his research helped me to feel beautiful again. Even my boyfriend has noticed and commented that my skin glows.
Quoted TextHello, I just want to let you know I am B and everything you've said about my blood type does fit me physically and my personality. It's very fascinating...from the 'easy going and fluid' all the way down to the hypothyroid and autoimmune (vitiligo).
So add another person to your stats!
Thank you for your knowledge,
Quoted Textswitched cold turkey (type 0, many years vegetarian). I started with mince that evening, yeah it was a cultural shock to purchase it - let alone eat it! But next morning when I woke up wide awake like never before, I was convinced.
Quoted TextI am type A, not sure about the scientific evidence... But 4 months after following the diet for A's faithfully, and after 6 years of hubby and i trying to get pregnant... I was able to finally conceive!! I am a strong beilever in the diet. Just my opinion....
Quoted TextI am on day 4 of an O+ diet and after 31 years of incorrect consumption, i've never felt better!!! I'm so glad to have found all this information!
Quoted TextI have been following eat right diet since 2011 when I came down with mono. Mono triggered chronic fatigue immune deficiency & fibromyalgia. The anti inflammatory diet was so helpful for my body to be able to concentrate on getting well rather than use all it's energy dealing with the wrong foods. Gut (IBS) cleared up first & arthritis pain was under wraps. Then last Dec. I started the Swami genotype diet as well as working up slowly to an aerobic exercise and have improved to about 85% or more on good days of energy back.
Quoted TextTears of gratitude and joy as I realized I am now 26 pounds lighter!!! Thank you Peter D'Adamo for the Blood Type Diet AND A big thank you to God and all of my support system as I continue this journey to being healthy, happy and allowing my body to discover what size I'm really supposed to be!!!
Quoted TextI just had to provide a testimonial to the wonders of living on the Blood Type Diet. My blood type is B+ and I have been on the BTD for about two months now and I have noticed that my monthly cycle has shortened, cramps have reduced and I no longer have blood clotting. I am truly amazed I have been suffering from severe cramps (I've almost passed out) my entire life but since being on the BTD I have not experience those pains. I am so truly thankful.
Quoted Text" This article has answered a lot of question I have had over the yrs 20+. I have psoriasis in 3 locations on my body I have been treating with a medication for yrs. It has become difficult to obtain the medicine recently. I began to display arthritis symptoms. In December I required assistance raising from bed /chair, walking very short distance. Had to give up my 2nd job. I experienced severe cramps in all my limbs even my upper arms and thighs. My sister told me about the BTD almost 2 months and I have seen changes major. They Dr wanted to do a Total Knee Replacement on my right knee. I declined because I felt no more cramps and very little knee distress after 10 wks on the BTD. This is my answer. I am testing different foods now if a breakout occur I will eliminate that food from my diet. Calcium is the worst right now and a Dr told e not to take many yrs ago but not because of psoriasis.I am So grateful for BTD. "
Quoted TextMy husband had had a heart attack and had 3 stints put in 1 yr. ago. The 1 artery was the aortic and he had 100% blockage and 99% blockage in 2 others. Drs. said his arteries were that of a man 30 yrs. his sr. and were so calcified it was 1 of the worse cases they've seen. Well, I took the heart diet list, the cardiac rehab diet list and his Nomad list and for the past year if it was on all 3 lists he could have it but if it was on the 1st 2 but not the Nomad he couldn't. He went back for his 1 yr. follow up yesterday and the Dr. was speechless! My husbands BP was excellent and his cholesterol was 124/75...perfect, and the 1 artery w/ 60% blockage that they didn't stint is clear! This is the Dr. who argued w/ me about the use of BP meds, Statins, and diet to the point that my husband threatened to leave me home after his check ups. Guess who got the last word!!! Dr. D'Adamo is as we already know, a GENIUS!!!! The genotype does work if you give it a chance and follow it 100%! My husband just looked at the Dr. and said,"well, my wife gets the credit cause I fought her every inch of the way and she fought back!"
