I'm wondering which plans people prefer based on blood type.  I've noticed several 'A's' who prefer the Genotype.

If my "expluntherer" title doesn't already suggest it, I go by blood type, not geno type. I still just can't wrap my mind around the fact that the only relevant physical measurement is my fingers, and in terms of other attributes, I'm across the board. BTD made me healthy, so I'm loyal. I have some weight to lose still, so I might re-evaluate GTD again, but BTD I've got down, so I might stick with it, and simply get back in the habit of working out.

I'm doing genotype, b/c I think that's what I should do, but I prefer the blood type diet.
So, how should I answer the poll?

first I was persuated to be an explowarionomad...... diminuative researches...I've been told that I'd be a warrior :o :-/ :P....(goofy)(goofy)(dizzy)(think)...never ever.... so far I decided to be a nomad with an explorer I am an 5/4 in the enneagram
meant here is.... sometimes my wing get grip over me??) ;) :X chuckle...and  a clearly no-acceptance of my body of any chemical bombes...called allopathic meds... :P >:( :( :-/...

but who cares in reality...not me coz I am going to stick to my A2B nonniefoodlists of lr4yt.... here I felt really ok and safe....and btw.. those recommendations given  on swami  in 07 are nearly those of the lr4yt book..... tell me...why shall I change ??)... ok I am on the track for the  menopausal booklet and issue coz of weight gain.... :P
and have to overcome my inborn lazyness for nealy no sports... :o :B ;D
but if I know that my tendencies of a nonnie for an overactive immunesystem will be even my beautiful teacher once showed me...(G.Uhlenbruck)... sorry here I am cautious and take care about myselve...even then with some poundis more ;) :D...

I voted for the GTD.

I feel the Teacher diet is so customized for me....especially since I got SWAMI'd..  And I
absolutely feel so much better on this diet, even though I'm only doing the Teacher
diet for a few days. (I did the wrong GTD for 18 months, due to poor measuring, and that diet felt wrong the entire time I did it)..I finally feel like I'm eating all the right foods.

It's not that I didn't like the BTD.  I did follow it for a really long time. It's a simpler
diet for many people because you can just follow the book by knowing your
blood type, read a list of foods and eat the beneficials and neutrals and avoid
the toxins....and on the BTD you can incorporate information from the library of
books written to address specific health problems. It is a good place to start if
you've never eaten foods for your blood type.  

BUT, I really feel that the GTD is the Rolls Royce of diets, a revolutionary way to eat....especially when the diet is so specifically customized for you with a SWAMI.  It's easy to do the measurements if you enlist someone to help you...

I voted GTD.  I did pretty well on BTD, at least better than on any other plan I'd ever tried, but I still had cravings for sugar and wasn't able to stick to it very well.  I did better on ER4YT, with nonnie specs, but still had cravings.  On GTD I lost sugar cravings, but had horrible salt cravings at first.  Now all cravings are gone.  I'm intrigued by SWAMI, but having a couple of explorer tendencies, I'm afraid I'd lose chocolate, sweet potatoes, eggs and beef, and that would make me very, very sad  :'(

But only insomuch as Swami is Genotype based.

To get the whole picture we really need a BT/GT/Swami by blood type question.

On BTD-A I lost 30 pounds in less than 3 months w/o much effort.

On a mistaken Teacher diet I promptly lost 10 pounds. I was following it closely.

I am actually Warrior... ran SWAMI and began to try to follow it -- but not doing as well as I followed Teacher or BTD-A.

So I have stopped losing weight.

It's HARD to cook and eat 6 cups of vegetables per day... I'm not a "recipe" person. I am too tired some nights, so I fall back on other Warrior superfoods (nuts, p-nut butter, avocado, eggs) that are probably not as beneficial for weight loss as 6 cups of vegetables would be. Also, I am still consuming some foods we had in the house that are low-carb, low-fat, but contain additives I probably should not have.

I guess I'm still in transition toward the full-on Warrior diet, and will know more about how it's working for me after several months.

After more than a decade of BTD, the GTD took me to a whole new level of wellness and stability.  I look forward to the Swami someday!  :-)

DGale....raw veggies and salads fill a cup up very easily...I could easily eat 6 cups of

15 months on BTD, 14 Kg down.
  6 weeks on GTD, 4 Kg up.

Ok, maybe I lost a bit too much and GTD is bringing me back to a more healthy weight. The reason I say this, is because my Body Fat measurament has actually gone down to 20%, which means that I must have gained some muscle.

I think I need to give GTD some more time before I can decide which one I prefer.
I must say that I love my cheeses in GTD though.

I just recently switched from BT to SWAMI GT.  I tried GenoType for a while but didn't trust  my calculations and was a Gatherer that switched to Hunter.  
Finally on SWAMI I have my perfect diet and I'm happy and feeling good.

My experience with GTD was not very satisfactory.  I pretty sure I'm a Nomad, but that diet caused a lot of inflammation for me.  Then I thought I was a Gatherer, and I just wasn't getting the nourishment I needed from that selection of foods.  Being a nonnie with an arthritic back throws a wrench into the Nomad diet.  I'd be willing to try the GTD again if/when I get a SWAMI done, but until then, BTD is doing well for me.

I'm still experimenting, so I don't know... regular explorer diet didnīt work for me   :(
Then I i tried nomad ( as the book said I am)
I like that diet pretty much felt  pretty good but lacked the dairy)

Tried swami and first it said gatherer- and I was :o :-/ some of the food  was great (chocolate and nuts)- but me a gatherer  ??) ??) ??)nay...

Then I changed my jaw type ( I should have  at first  :B)
and got  a very nice Henriettediet
( read swami explorer mix with lots of B food and some nice diamonds like chocolate from gatherer and nomad diet as well)

I havenīt tried the diet  long enough yet to say which I prefer
f It doesnīt work well I just use my B diet I know that works after 10 years.

TJ - I would advice to let the swami decide for you.

Regarding weight loss, I think that too rapid a loss may cause some stress on the liver.  I believe the lifestyles here have been designed to avoid that and keep weight loss at a healthier range.  At least in my case, that is something I will be watching because my liver enzymes were a little bit higher than normal.  I am very happy the way Teacher GT is guiding me.   :) ;D

I chose GTD. The Teacher diet has been extremely healing for me, bringing my intestines into balance so much so that I am continuing to get some healing of my nerves (damaged from celiac disease and, it seems, poor absorption with a more meat-based diet). While using the Explorer diet erroneously, my feet had definitely worsened. That is thrilling for me.

I found that when I was on vacation and walked a ton one day, my feet were much stronger than they had been earlier in the year.

Moving from the regular GTD to the SWAMI one has shown me that food is often at the root of my asthma symptoms (not always, though), and that the Teacher diet (too much dairy) added to my asthma whereas the SWAMI diet has clearly improved it (less dairy).

I have lost a little weight with the GTD, but not much. I think that SWAMI will help me lose more, but at the moment I have plateaued. I did just return from being on vacation, so as I concentrate on compliance, I think I will continue to lose, but very gradually.

Mrs. T, I'm doing ok.  Except I had some egg yesterday and suffered for it today!  I guess that sensitivity is never going to really go away...

Henriette, I just have one worry about that: there is a lot of heart disease and other problems in my family history that I don't have myself, but the SWAMI gives those more weight than my own personal issues.  Well, that's what the BTD SWAMI did, anyway!

If my only choices were the published books, I'd definitely use blood type. I did well on that for years, and got worse during my 2 month trial of GTD. But then I got a personalized SWAMI rather than going back to BTD, and that's working even better than BTD alone ever did.

I attempted the BTD diet approx 7-8 years ago, but didn't keep up with it for good compliance levels for very long - working in the City of London - lots of lunches, running between meetings, missing meals, grabbing sandwiches or fast food, lots of coffee etc etc

I came back to the D'Adamo clan via GTD in May this year. (I quit smoking in February this year and promptly gained 4.5kgs) - I can't put my finger on it, but I MUCH prefer the GTD to the BTD - following the Gatherer diet is easy for me, and (to me) the BTD O values seem a little "clunky"...?

I'm having great results, found out I'm a Nonnie just this afternoon, next step will be to do SWAMI express, but I will probably wait until I get a weight loss plateau before doing SWAMI - I've lost 22lbs since the end of May.
