Some forum members have expressed a desire to continue socializing after Dr. D'Adamo closes the blood type forums on this website.

We have setup a facebook group for this purpose. Murshid SWAMI will be administering the new group called "Dadamoforum Expat Group"

Because several forum members were concerned about security/privacy on facebook, the group has been set up

Since the group is a secret group you will not find it if you search for it in facebook.  Even if you know the group address: https://www.facebook.com/groups/353825171667409/
You will not see the group, if you are not a member.

You can only become a member if an existing member invites you and your membership request is approved by the group administrator.  Or if the Administrator adds you.

So if you would like to participate in the  "Dadamoforum Expat Group" send a facebook message to Murshid SWAMI with you forum name and your blood type. Once Murshid verifies your forum name, he will add you to the group.

Here is a link to Murshid's facebook profile: https://www.facebook.com/murshid.swami

There is a message button on the right side of the profile to send a message to Murshid (or use the message tool in the facebook navigation to create a message for Murshid SWAMI.

The secret group will keep messages posted to the group from being seen by people on facebook that are not members of the group.

Once you are added to the new group:

If you use a different name on facebook than on the forums, you may want to post an introduction identifying what your name is on facebook.

Murshid asked me where the new Nonnies forum would be on FB; I have not provided the link yet for that
It is coming also.
P.S.: Murshid lives in Germany
I hope to get to know him better after our migration.

Greetings:

It would also be helpful if people that want to join the "Dadamoforum Expat Group" ,  would also send me a friend request at the same time as you send me a message with your forum name and blood type.

If you are not a friend of Murshid's, I have to invite you to the group using your email address and some of the email invites are not getting through.

Sorry for the difficulties, thought this would be easier than it was.

After I have added you to the facebook group and the membership seems to be working, I will unfriend you so your friend list is not too cluttered (feel free to unfriend me  after you have been accepted in the group if I am too slow in unfriending you).

I am also compiling a list of people's characteristics.  If you would want this information shared with other forum members, you can include rh, secretor status, Genotype, and whether you follow a blood type diet, a GenoType diet, or a SWAMI diet.  This extra information is optional. You do not have to include it in the message, if you would prefer not to.

Thanks everyone!

We have setup a facebook group for this purpose. Murshid SWAMI will be administering the new group called "Dadamoforum Expat Group"

Okay, have not even read further in the post but HAD to say immediately that I love, love, LOVE the name!  Board expats!  It's perfect.

...Okay, I've now read the entire post.  Thank you, this will be just the ticket so that our community can continue, in a comfy cyber-living room of our very own on Facebook.  The other FB BTD-related groups (listed in an excellent, informative post by C_Sharp in another thread here...edited to add:  I just noticed that he also helpfully posted that list here, too, in this thread--woot!), are great, too, but this one sounds to me like it might be akin to a Little Fishes-type forum, wherein we can all really cut loose and swim up a storm, in whatever direction we like--and discuss very personal aspects of our journeys, since it will be not only a closed group, but basically one of those "secret" FB groups, no less, which are--as I understand it--the most private groups on FB.

Twitter version:  good going!  Off to "emigrate" now.

P.S.  Do you want us to start adding other BTDers we are friends with on FB, once we are added by you?  I have many on my friends list who may be interested.

Or do you want to be the one to add people, so you can put in all their stats, as you are?

Thank you so much Lola!

What a relief!!!! I'm a member now of 4 groups.

It's most exciting and moving to see our FB names in Ruthie's thread. I just sit there and weep sliently: tears of joy. We are all there! None disappeared!

Aaaaw, so sweet, Yaeli! (((HUG)))  I feel the same way.

All, I just posted a last-ditch argument/attempt to get the hold-outs among us to join FB and sign up for the new, ultra-private, "secret" (<--that is what FB calls groups that are set up super private like this) group that has been set up just for us message board alums/our community, "expats", as it is hilariously-and-aptly called, over in another thread, but I want to cut and paste it here because I don't want to miss anyone.  As I state in the following, losing even ONE of you from our number would be sad for me, and I think I speak for everyone/all of us, on that.  Over the years, we have all made very dear, lifelong friends here, and then we all have the people we may not be very close with, yet still appreciate so much, and THEN we have those we spar with and get into virtual pillow fights with, and I don't know about any of you, but I would miss ALL of those individuals--from my dearest friends on here to my occasional pillow fight partners.  So, to quote myself from another thread (lol), here's my last ditch pitch to you all to please, come on over to our new "country":

"Hey, Blues (and everyone who doesn't want to join FB), just a last ditch attempt/argument to get you and others over to the new “D’Adamo Expat” FB group for our message board community, as I, for one, would be sad to lose you.  So here goes:  I totally agree with you that searching for anything on FB is frustrating and incredibly primitive, ridiculous and pert near impossible.  That said, there are a FEW features about FB that are nice, for example, for you guys in the Fresh Start yuuuuuuuge monthly threads, which I always wanted to jump into, but then I always felt like I couldn’t keep up with it all:  on FB, if you are in a thread, you will get notifications every time someone responds to your posts/comments (up at the top of your page, there will be a little notification red dot, telling you the # of notifications you have--you click on it and a drop-down list of notifications opens*), and it tells you who responded.  You can then click on the notification and it will take you right to that particular response.  So, while it is hard to search for past things, especially if they are no longer actively being posted in (which seems to move the thread to the top of the page, by the way, in the particular FB group that was set up for us board alum, I notice—so “Fresh Start” for any given month would likely remain at or near the top of that group page, all the time), you can easily find responses/comments to any active thread.

As for the privacy, the way the “expat” group has been set up is the most private way a group can be set up on FB, I believe:  not only is it not open for the public to see or comment in, it is even more private than a “closed” group, because non-members won’t even see the name of the group/the group’s page itself come up in a search for, for example, Blood Type Diet or D’Adamo.  It won’t even come up.  No one can see the group except members.  To join, you have to be added by a member, and then approved by one of the administrators, period.  I notice, to my great relief and gratitude, that all the admins on that group are top notch—the toppest of notches—people that you will recognize from right here.  So please, Blues, san_j (yes, I want you there, too—otherwise, who will I argue with?! <3 ), and everyone—the whole lot of yazzz—please join.  I think I speak for everyone here when I say that I would miss each individual one of you in a unique way to each of you if you weren’t there.  So even if you detest FB (which, trust me, I get—I didn’t join for YEARS and had to be dragged there, kicking and screaming, actually by BTDers from this very message board, back in 2010 when I finally joined—I had serious privacy concerns about FB…I didn’t even use my real name—by the way, don’t do that, DO use your name, as FB obnoxiously demands, otherwise they could summarily shut down your account with no warning after YEARS, as they did to my first account…you can use a nickname but don’t try anything like “Peppermint Twist”, trust me *lol*.  Where was I?  Oh yeah, privacy concerns:  you can go into your settings IMMEDIATELY upon joining and make them all SUPER PRIVATE if you want.  You don’t have to use your real picture for your profile pic (you don’t even have to HAVE a profile pic), and you can adjust your settings so that NO ONE but your friends (which you pick) can see your posts, photos, etc.

You can even set individual posts to customize them further than that, like “everyone but so-and-so”.  ANYWAY:  just get your patooties over there and join already, you are killin’ us up in hea’ by saying we might lose you from our community!

* Note re FB notifications:  just a tip/personal yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge preference:  immediately set your settings so that you do NOT receive email notifications about responses from friends to your posts, etc.  You can check your notifications as I described, right on FB, from the drop-down notifications menu.  You do NOT want to be inundated with, like, 100 emails per day from FB notifying you that "so-and-so responded to your comment", "so-and-so posted in your thread", "so-and-so did SOMETHING which you don't need an email about but are getting one anyway"."

Twitter version of the above post-o-mine that I quoted from another thread:  take the plunge, peeps.  Come on, it's 2017.  Do you want to be like the only person on the block who doesn't have indoor plumbing, or a television set?
