Not showing yet at Amazon - usually I see scheduled new releases there, but not this one.

Shipping on this book was expensive....but I wanted a signed copy and I don't
think Amazon would have offered that. I ordered from this site....just to get my order in.
And wasn't sure this would have been available on Prime...

No scheduled new release yet on Amazon.  I checked there first.  Maybe we were offered sale of this book before anyone else...because we're special!

I think autographs for all regular forum members (factoring post counts) would be special

Amazon link for new edition:

I do not know what content has been changed in the new edition. I will have to wait until it ships.

The look inside feature on Amazon shows you the old book, not the new book. So it does not help in determining what is in the new edition.

What is in the new book:

Personal and actionable health advice, including:

  • A food and supplement key to reflect choices that best aid weight loss and healthy gut bacteria
Instruction on how you should exercise, the efficiency with which you burn calories, and weight loss/gain tendencies
  • Stress management techniques
  • Predisposition to diseases including dementia, ADHD, celiac disease, and even allergies
  • The varying influence of viruses, bacteria, infections, chemicals, and stressors that might compromise your immune system
  • Vaccine sensitivities for each blood type, and what to watch for
  • A NEW "10-Day Blood Type Diet Challenge," which includes a week and a half of menus and exercise plans for each blood type, and a results quiz so readers can measure their progress
  • Straight talk about fad diets, including paleo, vegan, low-fat, and low-calorie, and why they work for some and not for others
  • Material on the scientific community's hot topic—the microbiome (gut bacteria)—and a quiz that helps the reader detect whether their diet may be too high in blood type-related lectins (peanuts, lentils, soy, wheat) that interfere with a healthy microbiome
  • Updated food lists!  Based on the secretor values for foods.  Nonsecretor values still in typebase or the Live Right for Your Type book.

It remains a clear and easy to follow introduction to the Blood Type Diet.

It will be an excellent place for people new to the D'Adamo diets to start.

Thanks, C_Sharp.
Quoted Text
fad diets, including paleo, vegan, low-fat, and low-calorie
"Low-fat" used to be the typical recommendation, but to remain stuck on it is now a fad.

Something I disobeyed from the get-go in the ORIGINAL ER4YT was this:
BENEFICIAL (for B): Milk that is Skim or 2% fat,
while Whole Milk was rated only Neutral.

For me his Low-Fat recommendation wasn't right.
In the early 2000s I did my homework on this and later came to the Forum to confess to Whole Milk and Cream use instead of skim.

(In his later book, LR4YT, Whole milk was upgraded to share Beneficial status with Skim and 2% Milk, so Dr. D'Adamo had scrapped the Low-Fat dairy preference for us Bs.   )

Sometimes we here are ahead of the curve!

May many be helped by his latest publication!

C_Sharp - the page you link to shows over 2000 ratings/comments, but these are about both the 20-year-old Eat Right 4 Your Type and Live Right 4 Your Type, not about the revision.

Also: The features you name above as new to this edition are not named on the linked product page which instead lists features that are already in the original book. People who already own the book won't therefore infer that the revision is something they need, which means lost/forfeited sales.

Maybe Peter would like to fix the page.

I just cancelled my web order because the price was double my Amazon Prime cost for this
same book...

It's $17.40 for Amazon Prime (not autographed)
And $33.80 including shipping to buy it here. (autographed...)

I'm told the price on the NAP store was a mistake. The sale price is $19 something. All copies from NAP are autographed for the first month.

NAP can't compete with amazon nor match their price. And books are expensive to ship.  So if you feel amazon is your best bet, then feel free.

However, you may want to ask yourself the question, other than selling you the book for a few dollars less, how will amazon be supporting this work? Will they be paying for this board, its moderators, and maintenance? Does it produce monthly helpful newsletters for BTD followers?  Will they be supporting the training of future physicians in these methods? Or underwriting patient care at the COE for needy, underprivileged patients?

Sometimes the final cost-to-benefit isn't always accurately measured by price.

If I'm lucky enough to get one of the autographed copies it will be my 3rd autograph!  Think first was in Live Right, 2nd in the Encyclopedia.  One of them was early enough so that I can actually read the signature!

Does NAP still offer free shipping on orders over a certain dollar amount? Could the book come with free shipping if you ordered more than one copy, or combined it with an order for supplements?

Another way I support Dr D's work is to request that my library purchase all his new books. I requested all 4 of the new recipe books, even though I don't know anybody who's an AB. I wanted the library to have them all in stock in case anybody in my county is interested in them. Plus it means at least one more copy of the book is purchased, even if I don't currently have the budget for it. I should see if they're looking to order the new ER, and request it if they're not.

The library also orders more copies of books when they get a lot of requests for it. I've requested copies of new books from my favorite authors even when I've bought a copy (actually, it's my daughter who's got the budget for books these days, but I get to read them when she's done.)

D'Adamo Personalized Nutrition offers free shipping on orders over $49.   (Only in the US)

I put 3 of the the books in a shopping cart to get over the $49

My shipping choices were:

(USPS Priority Mail (1-3 Business Days))              $0.00
(FedEx Ground)             $11.11
(UPS Ground)            $11.33
(3rd Day)          $21.02
(Second Day)   $29.45
(Overnight)    $72.79
(FedEx Priority Overnight A.M. Delivery)   $75.63

1-3 business days seems good enough to me, and as Ruthie suggested its free.

They do have a loyalty program as well which is giving double points in December

OK, now this makes sense.

I could have brought my order up to $49 by ordering supplements with this book and shipping for everything would have been free. I somehow saw this as a place to order
a book and not the NAP website where I could add on other products.

If I had learned the correct price of this book from the start..I would have said nothing. I was only questioning what I was charged which was over $33 for one book...I was
not questioning whether all the bells and whistles of this website is worth paying a little extra for a book.  There are ways to save $ here....and glad that everyone now knows how to make this purchase more cost effective.

I feel I was justified in saying something.  Saying something changed the price of this book for everyone.   And not everyone can afford to pay $33 for a book, even though
it's autographed.  Not everyone here is capable of factoring in the value of
this website and other benefits, vs what they can afford to pay for anything.

So if I helped anyone here today, you're very welcome...

There are people who can't afford to buy the book at all, but will manage with a library copy and the TypeBase. We all do what we can.

Then of course you don't have to rush for the book immediately;
you can make an appointment to consult the author when convenient
and have him
- help you get healthy, and
- personalize the autograph!

I want to know what the "MUCH MORE" includes.

I noticed today that the food lists in the new book will have symbols that indicate:

--Which foods enhance carbohydrate metabolism (and therefore help with weight loss),
--Which foods increase microbiome diversity in the gut
--Which  foods decrease microbiome diversity in the gut

Cool on the new symbols!
That would be very helpful to have on my SWAMI. If it's there and I've missed it all these years, I've got to go back to the drawing board.

For those of you who buy by mail, this is a chance to support the BTD and get a good deal.

I wish success in the new book and many more "converts" to BTD and other good health practices!

I'm also bumping up this thread as the first page ends at 24, to make it easier for us tablet users to
access it the next time. (Don't worry if you don't understand what I just said!)
