This person in the link below, suggests Apple Pectin as one of the supp's to take to help sop up the radiation effects in our bodies from Fukushima fallout.

He talks about 10 things in the link on the left hand side of the page.

Apples are a neutral for me...

Thoughts?

We do take Zeolite daily which is one of the supp's he suggests in the Detox thread on the left.

Also.. the main article is worth a read... to arm ourselves and do the best we can to protect our bodies whether the threat is huge or small....

Although I think it would cause more harm than good if people started taking potassium iodide without a real reason, bladderwrack (Fucus spp) is probably as good or better anti-radiation agent. It is rich in iodine and potassium and it is is also rich in sodium alginate, which binds strontium in the gut, preventing it from reaching the bones.

The effects of Fukushima are greatly overblown n the U.S.  While the specific radiation put out by this accident did increase by a huge percentage - like from none to something, the something was/is still dwarfed by the "normal" solar and background radiation present in our environment.

If you want to read some actual measurement information, look at: http://radwatch.berkeley.edu/
This is a research group http://radwatch.berkeley.edu/Team at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA that has been involved with measuring the airborne radiation fallout and now gearing up to measure the waterborne buildup.  They post actual measurement values with the same unit designations so one can easily compare results to see that the natural radiation is still much larger than the accidental.

Ok well due to the solar and background radiation that you say is present... maybe the precautions this guy talks about are necessary regardless of Fukushima????

If that were the case, we'd all be walking around with some combination of the problems he is saying are attributed to this supposed radiation because we've all been exposed to the natural radiation for all of our lives...

There is some caution here to be taken due to the LBNL being a governmental run program.  They can tell us whatever they want.  Downplay the entire thing.  Did you read the article on the link I sent?   Scientists are playing dump and downplaying it all.

Scientists are notoriously unable to reach consensus on anything, much less conspire to undermine their own integrity. I would be more concerned about research that is evenly split than research that leans heavily to one side.

Yes, I have read much of the information in the post you linked...

Several comments:
1) A geiger counter does not measure different radiation types - all of it is lumped together in one basket, so there is no indication of what radiation is being measured.

2) Dr. Vetter's group is working with other scientists throughout the world.  Not all are on the U.S. payroll.  The data he is gathering and displaying on his website isn't the only data he is seeing, but it is representative of what is being seen throughout the world.  I really doubt that all of the scientists worldwide are willing to perjure themselves to keep a real problem "underground".

3) Most of the information presented on the site you linked is from amateur "hype" artists to stir the masses into hysteria - just to keep them stirred up wringing their hands about non-existent issues...  Ranks right up there with the Yellowstone volcano that may or may not erupt in the next 600 years...

Well.. I guess my original question about Apple Pectin helping to remove radiation from the body will remain unanswered while we postulate on who's right and who's wrong on the issue of Fukushima danger.

In this case we will need to agree to disagree as we each have our own internal geiger counter if you will or more appropriately entitled 'intuition' that leads us all personally to where we need to be on any matter.

Your life is going to be vastly different than mine is most aspects, and I have no right to judge you or change your opinion on any matter.... and so with that I respect your standing and I'm moving on.

Good luck and blessings to your and yours....

If anyone has an research on Apple Pectin being beneficial for helping to bind radiation, however small in the body... please comment!  thank you!!!
