My son who is 49 this year, has been diagnosed with this.  He is a type A and very concerned.  He says there are no cancer cells yet, but has to undergo treatments to remove the lining.  Has anyone had experience with this?  Thank you.  Trish

Does he smoke, drink alcohol excessively, have bad acid reflux, or any other negative lifestyle habits you can think of?

Things like green tea and the like can really help to heal the lining of the esophagus, and green tea is very beneficial for A's for antioxidant protection.

The tea should not be drank scalding hot to avoid irritation and damage to the esophagus.

I certainly agree with using green tea for the esophagus! It is wonderful! Can be made from capsules too.

Thank you all.  Am sharing these comments with him.  He is to have the radiotherapy next week, but is not sure if he should do it.  I have been reading that is is very helpful in treating this, but may have to be done a few times and not a pleasant experience.
