I love ezekiel bread!  Since I am a type O non-secretor, it is the ONLY grain I eat, & I limit it to one piece a day with my eggs for breakfast. My ER4YT app on my phone says sprouted wheat bread is an avoid. Isn't ezekiel bread a sprouted wheat bread. Is it an avoid for me??

The BTD rates 100% sprouted as okay. "Sprouted wheat" normally  contains both sprouted and unsprouted grains.

Ezekiel was an acceptable bread. They have since started adding wheat gluten, which makes it unacceptable for some. Others try to avoid soy, and so on.

If you choose to use it and find it acceptable, that's fine.

Thank you Lloyd. I will check my bread package to make sure they didn't add any wheat gluten. Do you know of any other breads we can have?  I really don't eat any grains except my one piece of ezekiel in the morning, but i don't want to give that up.

Wow. I just checked the package!  You are right!  It contains soy flour AND the second to the last ingredient  is wheat gluten. What a bummer!!

A number of our forum participants seem to like this flax bread:

I am of the opinion that the makers of Ezekiel bread are shooting themselves in the foot by messing with the old recipe.. I think we should start a petition here to advise them of the folly and some day send them the messages for their review.. I for one am sorry they changed a wonderful healthy bread substitute to what is now common junk food.  There was no reason to change it.. at least none that I can see.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Some of the Food for Life Rice breads are pretty clean.  I like the Exotic Black Rice and the Bhutanese Red Rice varieties.  The other one that isn't bad is the Millet/Rice.
