I have Gilbert's syndrome and chronic digestive problems. I am looking for a supplement that would help liver detoxification and regeneration. I've heard a lot of praise for Himalaya's Liv.52 or LiverCare (different names for different markets). However, this product based on ayurvedic tradition contains herbal ingredients that might be not beneficial for type O (not sure).
Another product I am considering is Now Foods' Liver Detoxifier & Regenerator which is a formula with milk thistle, artichoke, beet root, bladderwrack, dandelion, schisandra, barberry, turmeric, grape seed extracts, L-Glutathione, N-Acetyl Cysteine, L-Carnitine and L-Methionine.
Is there any similar product with licorice?
Or should I simply go with pure milk thistle extract?

Dr. D'Adamo's Hepatiguard formulation is good for all types and is wonderful for supporting the liver. Also, in The Genotype Diet book, there is a gentle liver cleanse at the end of the Explorer section that is usable for all types. It's also good to try and reduce the things/foods which put the liver out of balance, or strain the liver, then the need for cleansing is not so important. I know this is hard with schedule and lives of many people. Fresh lemon juice in warm water first thing in morning, and also in the afternoon as last fluid, works well for me. I'd also finish eating much earlier in the day, this ensures food is well digested and assimilated, and give the liver a decent chance of detoxing/regeneration at night during the hours of liver meridian - which is 11pm to 1am if I remember - Chinese philosophy of the 24 hour Chi daily cycle. Adding raw beet to a veg juice helps, as does raw carrot and carrot juice. And of course leafy green veg, lettuce, kale, broccoli. I also use lime juice on my salad meal. And some specific yoga exercises also help the liver.
