A blog about some software I'm writing that allows users to track their compliance:

Please let us know when it's online! Would love to be a part of this. I can't tell you how much your health protocols have helped me...I'm a scientist and would love to quantify my results!

Would SWAMI compliance be part of this software, or is that too complex for now?

So take this all those naysayers out there! Nothing like cutting them off at their  silly games! Seriously, I thought that every "upgrade" in the diets up until now were getting very close to perfection, but this, to me, is a huge leap into proving it and making things clearer and easier in the process. Wonderful!

Excellent news! My background includes software system development and testing, and I would be happy to participate in Beta testing if that would help.  I believe this system will not only provide you with amazing data, but will help me stick to the diet more closely.
Thank you for all that you have given freely to so many, and for taking this huge additional step.

Ruth, it's possible to add SWAMI data, but it is more difficult.

Checking compliance for things like ABO or secretor involves using simple lookup tables. SWAMI calculates food values dynamically for each user. Thus every time we'd need to get compliance data, the entire SWAMI program would have to run, which is a CPU hog.

The final problem is that SWAMI resides on nap.com and Traktion is on datapunk.net. You can have programs exchange data easily enough (and the SWAMI data file is anonymous anyway) but what happens when a person changes a setting?

Difficult yes, impossible no.

What do users get out of it?

A way to track their BTD compliance level alongside other factors such as exercise, and correlate this with their wellbeing. Users may be able to work out factors that affect their personal state of health such as specific foods or exercise levels that might make them feel better or worse.

Current BTD/GTD'ers  would enthusiastically embrace this, and it would give newbies a foundational support system that their app-driven world demands. Might get more folks on board, and more inclined to stick with it. I predict this will be fabulously successful. Bravo!

So exciting, my oldest son who is training snowboard athletes who are trying to get to National Team level was asking me about a tracking software.  He is finding his athletes who can track their activity, weight, exercise levels are horrible at tracking food...he would like to use Swami for this athletes.

So, in a nutshell, this program will start with basic BTD and secretor status values, and it will likely be years before it's upgraded to include SWAMI.

Does this mean if we're following SWAMI we shouldn't try to use it?  Can you still see a value in it for us to try it?  I'm hoping so.

I suppose a person should look at this "freeware," as noted by Dr. D., as opposed to purchased software, except, IMO, this is the most valuable "freeware" a person could ever expect to find anywhere.  I ain't aiming to look the gift horse in the mouth!! After all, how much time have I spent today working on something to give freely to other people!? Some, but not nearly enough. But I must say it is smelling pretty good right now.

Maybe the software could have a "Swami food value override" for tweaking any foods that rate differently than the GTD values. A Swami "key" could be provided for Swami users only, to make the necessary value adjustments.

OK for once I am suggesting that someone with more time on their hand to just quietly fix the typos.. I find them distracting and and I am concerned that they might just possibly diminish the value of the writings and the efforts behind them.  Also the asterisk is missing.. many might miss the thread that way.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!
