I was just made aware of how awesome a good quality omega 3 fish oil supplement can be for overall health and balance.  My wife has some and I began to take it.

My supp were ashwagandha and rhodiola.  I have found rhodiola to be an avoid supplement for me.  I discontinued use of it completely.  Too much like ginseng and that did not go well at all.  Both rhodiola and ginseng are avoids for my constitution.

I use ashwagandha which is superb for me personally, best herbal I ever used hands down.  And I use omega3 fish oil.  With this I feel good, calm, and focused;)

I even noticed for the first time with any attention that omega 3 is recommended for my genotype to offset omega 6 in the diet for explorers and taming inflammation and for good liver function.  Never realised how beneficial fish oil could be!

Fish oil is great for your heart - cholesterol and cardiovascular disease - and your brain.  it can lower triglycerides, resting heart rate and blood pressure, as well as death from heart disease and sudden cardiac death according to The Great Cholesterol Myth.  The authors recommend either algae oil or squid oil, as they are higher in EPA and DHA, but a good combination can be difficult to find.

I do not want to be without fish oil! I have been taking it for nearly thirty years! Some people have also had good results taking it for depression.

Easy E, you have to remember that some people don't have a clue about understanding their bodies and what has or has not helped them. It amazes me that some of them will take a supplement, and everyone around them can tell it helps, but they are completely in the dark! That is one thing I enjoy so much about the forum. People have learned to know their bodies, and what is good for them! Knowledge is power! --A favorite saying of a lawyer I used to work with many years ago! In fact, we had an engraved plaque made and hung it on a wall in his office. He was very pleased! Another funny thing about that is that we knew a distant cousin of Francis Bacon, the author of that saying.  He came from England to live here.

I took EPA/DHA Omega supplements for years and I guess you could say I was one of those people that did not feel the benefit.  Since I have switched over to primarily NAP supplements--to include my Teacher/3 pack--I am now taking flax oil instead and feel that it works well for me.  DrD recommends flax oil for Nomads as well.  Yes, you Hunters and Explorers get fish oil and Warriors/Gatherers get CLA.

A month or two ago someone posted an interesting article on fish oil here on the forum.  Wish I could find it again to post on this thread.  If anyone out there can recall and find it--please repost here. According to the research backing this article, fish oil might not be for everyone--which apparently DrD knows.  Brilliant doctor that he is.

Before I was off gluten entirely, and therefore still having killer endmetriosis (now, no cramps at all...what a difference!), I would take fish oil and magnesium as my go-to for pain, instead of NSAIDs (my mom almost died of an ulcer, sister almost died of kidney failure caused by NSAIDs). Fish oil always worked like a charm!

But then, I'm mostly Irish/Scottish, with some Danish, so my ancestors probably ate fish three times a day...
