I've always instinctively licked my wounds.  Does being a nonnie mean that that's a pointless habit?  My wounds still seem to heal faster than if I don't lick them.  Any thoughts?

"saliva in cut wound".... over 8 million hits on a google search, seems the answer is yes, saliva is beneficial to wound healing.

I understand that it is for secretors.  NONNIES, however, may be different, which is what I'm asking.

Well, I'm an Nonnie, and although I didn't realise it at the time, as a kid, I got a bunch of warts on my knees and a smaller patch on my hands (knuckles mostly) - the Scottish fokelore from my mother said to lick the warts in the morning, at waking, before brushing teeth or eating anything - they did disappear pretty quickly (without any other OTC meds)…

Personally, I treat being a Nonnie as gift - I know  I need to take extra care, and keep a look out for triggers of any kind - I have become a great believer in the Mind/Gut connection - just because I have discovered I am a Nonnie, does not mean I will automatically succumb to every intrusion due to lack of strength in my immune outer town walls…quite the opposite…in many ways, I feel much stronger and more capable of dealing with any onslaught…

Being a Nonnie is far from being a negative thing, in my humble opinion…

Thanks, Carla!

I definitely don't see being a nonnie as a bad thing.  Actually, now that I'm eating the way I'm supposed to, my body is a heck of a lot stronger than it was, and I feel better in every way.  I absolutely wasn't hating on being a nonnie!  It was more of an informational request, really...  But it seems it's one of those things no one knows...  So I'll just keep licking!

Egg white. Replace as needed. The same egg can be used for awhile, you don't even have to do anything but make too small of a hole for the yolk to come out.
