I have been struggling with uncontrollable high blood pressure for years.   Originally diiagnosed 12 years ago, it has gotten progressively worse over the last 5 years. At one point it was so bad I went from taking my pills once a day to twice a day and it still wasnt controlling it. I was then sent for a sleep study to determine if I  had a sleep disorder which was causing the high bp. I did have sleep apnea, but the treatment didn't  make as  much of a difference  as they thought it would. In 2011 I  started following the BTD, but it wasn't until 2012 that I became about 95% compliant. About 10 months ago I started using the recommended  supplements, including deflect. Then, out of the blue, on new years day 2014, I took my meds like normal  & 30 min later I  was light headed. Checked my bp and it was 98/68. Needless to say I didn't take my bp meds again. Went  to the Dr today  where I was officially taken off my meds. This way of life has helped me drop 50 lbs, overcome chronic fatigue and high blood pressure! Thanks Dr. D!

It is really hard to argue with success...  Good for you to have the persistence to maintain the diet and see the results!  Keep up the good work.

This post almost made me cry.  Such beautiful results from such a beautiful, elegant diet.  The elegance is in how each finely customized diet fits with each individual, to balance every system in our bodies.  I often refer to the BTD (and GTD...and SWAMI--I often refer to Dr. D's diets *lol*) as "The Great Balancer".  When we feed our bodies what they were designed/evolved to thrive on, and take away the things that muck up the works, what you get is a beautiful, elegant symphony.

Here's to the symphony!  There are few things as pleasant as an orchestra in tune.

So wonderful for you! 50lbs is ALOT!  I just lost 50 as well being compliant and following my Swami slowly to 99.9% compliancy!  I have been reading the BTD Encyclopedia and some of the disease processes Dr. D describes like the 'Aging Diesease' makes one want to sit up and keep on the good food with the diet even more!  Being 55 I want to advance into my older years gracefully and HEALTHY!!!

Congrats on a great achievement!!!!

You'll probably notice that you feel better without these meds, though the transition will involve some detox.

A bit of nostalgia

High BP and being on BP medication was the main drive that forced me to look for other solutions. That's when and how I discovered BTD. I remember the first few weeks, BP coming down to normal values, hypoglycemia fading away, feeling energetic every single day coming..

Since then, every new day is bringing something good/better

Enjoy your journey
