I have been on the BTD for a number of years. It has helped me tremendously but for the past year or so I haven't been feeling too good. I recently read about swami and would like to get it but want to find out how important fingerprints are to getting a good result. My hands are very deformed from arthritis and there's no way I could get prints except for one thumb.

You can get a lot of benefit from swami even without the fingerprints they are for fine tuning.

it is more helpful if you put more details about yourself. like age, why you think you are a non sectretor what your rhesus group is how compliant you are.

the more detail you give the more help you will get.

It's about 5 times the cost as the home consumer swami so is it worth it to go to a practitioner and get the pro version?

swami will not print a report unless you have entered all the necessary data

fingerprints are part of the equation

click on composite whenever in doubt about a print or illegible

here s a video to help guide you when filling in your swami interphase

Thank you Lola - that video was interesting. I hate these types of tests because I'm never sure if I've done them correctly and then if I don't get good results it's always a question if it's the diet or if I entered bad info. I'll probably go to a practitioner for help and get the pro version but even doing that, how much will swami be thrown off if one needs to enter composite because the prints couldn't be taken or even the finger pads seen clearly?

skillsaw - How compliant are you?

a practitioner would be a wise choice for you if you are suffering that badly with arthritis - it can be helped a great deal.

If i were you and i lived in the USA i would arrange a trip to a senior practitioner or even Dr D himself or one of his colleagues.

In the mean time (assuming you have no kidney issue) time i would get some magnesium oil and rub it on your hands several times a day. I would also reduce and then stop eating any wheat , potatoes, corn, dairy and reduce sugar in takke a lot.

The advantage to the pro version is that you have a practitioner's help in filling out the data fields, so there's no second-guessing the measurements or agonizing over how to answer some of the questions.  The downsides are the cost, and the fact that you have to go back to the practitioner if anything in your health changes. I have the pro version, and sometimes I wish I could play around with some of the features, such as the various portion size options, and I'd love to play around with things like "would I be allowed apples if I set it to Explorer?" (I'm a Gatherer according to SWAMI.) None of these things are worth going back to the practitioner for, so I use my own judgement about portion sizes and don't get to play around with various features.

OTOH, the fact that I can't play around with features means that SWAMI is set to my actual needs, and doesn't reflect any "play." And a good practitioner just might be able to get your fingerprints, even if you can't get them yourself.

Also, if a practitioner is charging you $350, it may be for a full naturopathic workup, not just the SWAMI. He or she may be able to help you with supplements and other treatments, not just dietary advice. Call ahead and ask that before making an appointment.

When a practitioner does a swami for you he or she couldn't help but notice many things. i do and i still consider myself as in learning mode even after doing this pretty well full time for the last several years.

many will never know how truly remarkable and intelligent Swami actually is.

I have spent weeks just reading the manual lol

I'm pretty compliant but sometimes you have to make do because of finances. If I want to see a doctor I may have to buy regular beef at $2.50 a pound instead of the grass fed stuff for $10 for a few months. Also because of Obamacare it's just going to get worse for those of us who prefer to go to alternative healers since we won't be covered for that at least not here in california. It's going to cost me an extra $3000 a year for something I won't use. Sorry to go off topic and thanks all.

Recently we were talking about toeprints on another thread.
This is definitely one more reason that we should start incorporating them into our data!  We can't always read our fingerprints.

Mrs T, my toe prints are different to my finger prints.  I have all ulnar loops on fingers but only eight toe prints are "ulnar" loops pinkie toes are arches and one other is some sort of composite.  All toe prints are without any lines but big toe prints are quite low, my finger prints are very clear but have a few lines through them.
