I almost found an Explorer compliant icecream, but they had to put cashew nuts in it   :

'Ice Cream'
Two years of creative development, involving a lot of tasty and a lot of not so tasty versions along the way, resulted in our extraordinary vegan and vegetarian Alternative to Dairy Ice Cream, with only 4 or 5 simple ingredients:
Hunky Punky Chocolate           Water, Agave Syrup, Cashew Nuts, Cocoa Powder.

So close!

You can freeze fruit - most popular the banana and put it a Vitamix - strong blender or food processor and make simple ice cream - just use any diamond or beneficial fruit you like. If you want it creamery add compliant milk - I like Almond milk. Most fruit is sweat enough you don't need to add any, but if you like you can add any diamond or beneficial sweetener you like. We have come up with some crazy combination that taste great. If you want add a little juice and turn it into a smoothie - all with ingredients of your choosing so is can be all diamonds and super healthy - no junk or chemicals you can't pronounce.  I love my Vitamix - great for ice cream or soup  made from scratch with only what you want in it

I bet you could make your own with walnuts or almonds in place of the cashews. I've noticed that cashews are used in a lot of vegan dishes- they must have an especially creamy  texture or something.

Vitamix recipe for ice cream:  1 cup yogurt plus 3 cups frozen fruit.  Use tamper stick andbBlend on high until it forms 4 "mounds". This happens fairly quickly. Scoop out and eat - quickly.

We use goat milk yogurt because it doesn't give me the sinus problems that cow milk yogurt does.

I have served this "ice cream" to guests.  It's that good.

My hubby's favorite flavor is raspberry chocolate:  Add raw cacao powder (or cocoa) and a bit of extra sweetener like agave, stevia or whatever to balance the cacao powder.

Hi all,

I've made some frozen yoghurt myself, but it doesn't have the same consistency.
Also sometimes it would be nice to eat something you don't have to prepare before...

Vitamix Blenders here cost an absolute fortune!!! Even if I had that money, I wouldnt want to spend it all on a blender....

Quoted from Lola

Our dear Lola: Fastest Link in the West.
And that recipe calls for a "blender", not necessarily a VitaMix.

I love my Vitamix - if you use berries it actually will break up the seeds so you don't get seed stuck in your teeth. I think it is worth the money - you can do so much with it. I make soup from scratch in it, ice cream, smoothies, nut butters, and the list goes on. I understand the price issue, but you can use a food processor or any other blender.
