I want to start taking GB for stress, someone linked an article on the mb about it being good for lowering cortisol.  I was watching a health show and they said that for GB to be effective it should contain egb extract, although this was not specifically for stress.  I've researched this but have found nothing definitive that it has to contain egb to be effective for stress.

Does anyone know what GB should contain to be effective for lowering cortisol levels?

Hi Mickey,  if you take the whole plant and not a synthetic type of supplement on the market, it will have the egb contained in it.  The substance acts a an adaptogen so helps your body adjust to what ever stress it is experiencing.  Dr D'Adamo has  a great product called attentia which contains Gingko which you may find helpful.

I already bought some GB before i heard about the egb.  Although i haven't opened it yet, i want to make sure it's the right kind and am hoping it is since i got a really good deal on it at the HFS.  I can't really afford to buy Dr. D's Supp's but will keep it in mind if i ever come into some extra money.

yep as Lola said...and I was merely convinced that catecholamines are our *common* stressor .... so far I think rhodiola rosea would be fine for O's and AB's ....

The Stress Protocol is very useful. I don't think a blood thinner is going to do a lot for you (GB).
