Hello Everyone,

I am brand new to the forum and hope I have put this message in the right place.

As much as I stick to the correct 'A' Blood Group foods, sometimes I hit some food item that makes me feel completely exhausted, wanting to sleep and drained of all energy. I realise immediately (and generally too late) that this is a new 'avoid' food but wonder if anyone knows how to counteract the effects quickly. Most times it happens when I am not at home where I can 'sleep it off' and having it happen while working affects my work. It's a bit hard to 'sleep it off' at work!

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If the avoid is due to lectin content that is problematic for your type, Deflect is a great product...

If it is a personal sensitivity, it may be possible to clear it up, but no guarantees...  I use an acupressure massage treatment with good results, but sometimes it has to be repeated many times to clear the sensitivity...

Welcome to BTDland!  Like all of us, you will occasionally make the mistake of eating the wrong things by mistake.  Yes, it is a learning process & we are here to help you out. The folks here are so helpful & the moderators very knowledgable.
The fact that you react or get tired shows that the BTD is working. The body is learning what is right for it!

I've found that drinking lots of water helps. Water with lemon added works even  better.

Thank you for the responses.

ABJoe: I use acupressure regularly but never thought of using it in this case. Will definitely work on that one - thank you.

Mrs T: Thank you sincerely for the welcome! I am now 54 but at 19 years old realized that meat and my body just did not like each other. I stopped eating all meat with the exception of chicken & fish from 19 yrs old.  Because of all of this, I became very aware of how my body reacted to different foods and started excluding and including from my diet.I removed all dairy at about 30 and white breads etc at 40. Then I discovered the 'BOOK' - Eat Right For Your Diet and thought hallelujah! someone has finally worked it out. I tend to get caught out when I buy food as much of the time there is processed sauces or preservatives etc in it that I wasn't aware of and then boo bang and I'm out for the count!

Ruthiegirl: Thank you - I love lemon and water and start my day with it but have never thought to try it!

Do any of you think the Rhesus factor makes a difference? I am RH Negative.

Again, my sincere thanks for the responses. I am still open to anymore suggestions if there is any out there.

Warm regards

I discovered one day that peppermint tea eases the exhaustion symptom.

Now, after a few years on this diet, I don't feel as exhausted any longer when I eat out.  There is hope!

Oh, and it doesn't last as long.

I find peppermint is very helpful for me.  It helps to detox the liver and reduces inflammation from irritating toxins.  It also is energizing, yet soothing and relaxing.  And it helps digestion too.  Peppermint tea is a recommend for explorers and I find it a better start to my day than coffee and caffeine. I think its one of those herbs that helps everyone.

Thank you Easy E. I haven't tried Peppermint Tea yet but it is definitely on my shopping list.

I'm still interested to know if the Rhesus factor has any bearing if anyone has the answer.

The RH factor has little or no efffect in the use of the diet.
The secretor status does. (That is whether or not your blood type shows up in other body fluids).
About 80-85% are secretors & 15-20% are non-secretors.
It seems a higher ratio of non-secretors are active on this message board.

Cheers! You should do fine on the "BTD."

Remember it well *avoids* have the 500 times negativ effect onto our bodies once washed out their poisoning effects....while getting re-introduced even only for a short period...

Thank you Mrs T. I now have to check out the Secretor Status and see which one I am.

Amazone l; my body reminds be of this effect every time I eat an 'avoid' .. thank you for reminding me to remind my brain that I shouldn't eat it or check first before eating.

Good news, Peppermint Tea works brilliantly. I can't believe I haven't tried this before.

If I ever consume a toxin, I immediately reach for some Beneficial food (right after taking a Deflect).

Hi Victoria

Since I have been trying to find a counter to 'avoid' foods I have been trying different things and last week tried a 'beneficial' food after. In my case, eating a pear really really helped.

Deflect??

Thank you Lola ... I have had a good listen and read up and am now well versed in lectins and Deflect. At first I thought it meant to eat something to 'deflect' the avoid food.. you learn a new thing every day!
