Hello there!

I purchased SWAMI a while ago, but didn't really use it since I discovered that fingerprinting seems to hold a lot of weight in determining which plan to follow.  (As my prints are marred by white lines, it's next to impossible to figure them all out.)
Prints aside, I seem to be around 40% Explorer & 40% Gatherer.
So am I supposed to just guess, or pick the one I like the best?
Obviously, I would like to follow the plan that will give me the most health benefits; otherwise I don't see the point of using SWAMI over the Blood Type Diet.

While I'm at it, another family member (AB+, non-secretor), has the same fingerprint issue & it seems to be the determining factor between her following the Warrior, Teacher or Nomad diet (seems they are all around 30% each, but these are very different eating plans).
She feels better with a more Mediterranean diet so she is leaning towards the Warrior.

Are we missing something here?  Prints are that important?  Any advice from the wise ones of this forum would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Have a professional (police department or the like) read the prints for you.

If the professional is not able to read the print, then do the same thing that you would do if the finger was not present on the hand (enter composite for the fingerprint pattern).

Fingerprints can be very meaningful, but we can only do the best we can do...  The composite measurement for prints allows you to get a dietary reading when prints are not readable so you get started with as close to you as it can be at the moment.  You can start with this diet and input more accurate information when it becomes readable...

We aren't necessarily looking for the perfect diet, but one that allows us to start healing and adjust as we go.

Thanks for your speedy responses C_sharp & ABJoe!

Like you said, we previously had to enter the prints as composites or we wouldn't have been able to get a reading or percentages at all.  I was just surprised that changing a couple prints (from composites to a whorl or an arch) would carry so much weight that it would change the outcome completely.  (What can I say?  I'm curious, so I played with it a bit.)

I have noticed there are many on this forum who received definitive outcomes (in the 50% range).  And then there are others with much lower percentages (which are deemed "adequate") who have had to switch plans weeks/months after realizing they did not have a good match.  I was just selfishly hoping to avoid that situation.

Oh well, I guess I'm the lucky one as I only need to decide between two plans (& going gluten-free  ).  However, I do think I could have determined that by buying the Genotype Diet  book alone.

Thanks again past (& future) posters for all of the great info available in the BTD forums!

Even if you got the same diet label as the book with SWAMI the diets will not be the same.

Incidentally, SWAMI has never switched me regardless of changes to my input data.  Interpreting the  instructions in the book, variations in measurements, using different calculators led to three different GenoTypes. All of the SWAMI diet variants have worked better for me than the book diets/

If your ridge patterns are worn down, you probably won't have luck having a professional read the prints for you either. I've had prints done professionally multiple times (due to adoption red tape) and it always took multiple tries on most every print before the technicians would get satisfactory prints. Of course this was before I started on the blood type diet.

If you can't or don't want to get SWAMI, you could just follow the blood type diet and not worry about the genotype diet or SWAMI until your white lines heal. My twin B sons follow the blood type diet, and though they're clearly different genotypes, they do well on it when they remain compliant.

Avoiding wheat no matter which GenoType you are will heal your gut first and the you fingerprints will follow.

Update: I was given a 41% match (Explorer) after eliminating "Myers-Briggs" (among other things) from SWAMI & am now on that plan.
Although the biometric matches between the Explorer & Gatherer were basically even, I match all but one in the biochemical column of the Explorer & only match just one of the Gatherer in the book.
And as much I as I love the Explorer slogan (& side-eye the Gatherer's), I didn't choose a plan based on psychological traits.

Thanks again @  C_sharp, ABJoe, Adopted4 & Tom Martens!

I think you will be happier following the SWAMI than you would be if you were following the Genotype Diet by the book...  There is so much more individualized information that it will "fit" you better, making it easier to do...

Enjoy the process and your better health!
