I'm a Type A:  Couple questions.

I don't care for fish.  Ideas of how I can get more protein?  Also, how much protein are we supposed to eat each day?  I'm sure it depends on weight an exercise, but just a a general rule.  How much protein?

Is Hemp Protein powder okay for Type A's?

Thanks everyone!

For veggies, broccoli is a partial protein. A half cup cooked is 2g of protein. I will add it to stir fry, mashed up into smaller pieces. A whole stalk steamed, then added at the end to a good stir fry. A large stalk is 7g protein cooked.

I tried hemp powder, and didnt like it at all, too bad right?

I dont know how much protein per the BTD, but I think a woman needs 18g a meal for higher simple carb meals, and less may be ok for complex carb meals. Also men need a little more.

Do you like tofu? You can use that in place of meat in usual meals, taco, chili, whatever you like.

Eggs are a good protein source as are cheese, though it may be limited for A. Im AB so some of my things allowed are A friendly, some are B friendly and some are just AB and A or B cannot. My focus is AB and B right now, though my older 2 children are both As.

I still have more testing to complete my swami
I'm cooking for all 4 types, and my work is cut out in the mom cave. Our blood types are as follows AB+ (me), O-, A+ (x2 adult children), B+(2 year old).

Do you have the book?  The portions are listed in the book, Eat Right for your type. and for type A most of your protein should be coming from plant sources....beans, soy foods like tempeh, tofu.  And then of course, there are nuts and seeds.  Many cups of vegetables, good fats and oils,
a few grain portions...but as far as not eating fish, you could just as well eat turkey, eggs, a little
chicken and not eat fish if you don't like it.  Peanut butter is a good plant protein for type A.

There is a type A protein powder which has absolutely no flavor. You'd have to add your own liquids
like soy milk, almond milk, rice milk or water....plus fruits of your choice.

As far as how man grams of protein a type A person needs per day.....sorry, don't know. Not
sure you have to think about it if you're following the diet from the book.

Since hemp seed is not rated in the blood type diet, it is considered Neutral.

When we look at the rating in The Genotype Diet for the 3 genotypes that a Type A blood-typed person can be, it is beneficial for 2 and total avoid for the third.  It would depend which genotype you fall into whether it would be good for you or not.

How  much protein one needs depends on several things. Age, sex, body type, metabolic type, and recent health issues being among them. I cannot eat many types of beans due to the glycemic load so I just avoid them even if they are ok on my personal SWAMI or the diet books.

I eat beans, various soy products, turkey, nuts, seeds.

For my gender/frame size/height/age/activity level I need 120 grams per day. I get that without any problem following the SWAMI diet.  I do not spend time calculating it daily since there is no need to.

MIfHI                            I follow a SWAMI diet.
