ahha.. now I've got it... indirectly our Bloodtype saved us, my elder sister and me... in not having got *aborted* .... Our mum is a Rh - B woman and both kiddies came onto that wunneful earth with AB Rh + types... ( father an A Rh+ ) (as said grandma's revengse.... grandma's bt was also AB ... from mothers side... but an O from fathers' side)....

and as we don't possess any antigens against our mum's bt...... so far she didn't needed any shot after  having given birth nor even justamente befor giving birth to us... woahoa... thanx to mother nature...  that we're still alife ...

btw.. but who knewed our bt's while still being in her womb... ... so far we've survived by purest luck ..............

The firstborn is not affected by "RH factor". It's when the mother and fetus' blood mix during birth that the problem arises because the mother develops antibodies attacking any fetuses with RH positive blood.

Maybe your mother had the RhoGam shot without you knowing it? This would prevent any miscarriages due to RH factor, as it did for my mother in the early 60's when RhoGam had only recently been developed.

I had the RhoGam shot administered after I had a miscarriage because my doctor insisted there was a possibility of "mixed blood" which would have put me at future risk of a miscarriage due to RH factor if I got pregnant with an Rh positive child (my husband is Rh positive).

Then your birth indeed was a miracle, something that medical science can't explain. The Rh positive antigens should have been present in your mothers blood after your sister's birth (not during her pregnancy) if indeed your sister is Rh positive. God has you on this earth for a reason and I know of other miraculous examples of how babies have been born and survive pregnancies that are otherwise considered "doomed" by the medical profession.

There is a well known left-handed quarterback in the NFL whose parents told the story to the media of their sons conception and birth. They were missionaries in the Philippines where medical care was very poor. They already had several children and when their son was conceived the mother's health was poor (possible heart condition or something else I can't remember). All the doctors insisted she should abort the fetus because it either wouldn't survive anyway or it could possibly kill her. Still, the parents refused to do that.

After many months of multiple problems during the pregnancy, she gave birth to a full-term healthy son. What no one realized until after the birth was that the placenta was very abnormal and the doctors could tell that it had "detached" from the uterus sometime during the pregnancy. NO ONE could explain how the baby was born alive, let alone healthy.

I'm not surprised the young man today is left-handed and has very typical explorer features since Dr. D describes explorers as having had problems with oxygen deprivation in the womb.

It takes a while for antibodies to build up in an Rh- mom that might hurt an Rh+ baby. The first born will be fine, no matter what. The second born may still be OK- there may be some antibodies from birth #1, but there aren't always, and there aren't always enough antibodies to cause serious problems. Sometimes it causes minor problems for baby#2, but then baby recovers fine.

By the third Rh+ pregnancy, there usually are problems if the mom hasn't been given something to prevent it. That explains why your mom lost so many babies, and that those who survived were Rh- like her.

Both of my daughters are Rh- and are nowhere near ready to have children. We know with plenty of time for them to get any needed shots (unless they marry Rh- men.)

I had rhogam shots after both my deliveries and had healthy babies except for the fact that they were  jaundiced and needed the billi lights.  My daughter in law (A-) had a miscarriage before my last granddaughter was born and my son had to ask the Dr. if she needed a rhogam shot...do you believe that!  She did and my granddaughter is a very healthy almost 6 month old child now.  First granddaughter who is 3 was A- like she is.   Baby is O+.
