I'm looking for digestive enzymes to heal my leaky gut.  I've looked at a lot of the supplements for the different health protocols and don't know which one to take.  Should I follow the intestinal health protocol or the healthy stomach support protocol?

Just FYI, none of those are digestive enzymes. If you need help with actually digesting the food while your gut is healing, you need to look elsewhere.

Hentag, I'm working on healing the same problem, leaky gut.  I'm taking two Standard Process products as advised by both Dr. Bruce West and my chriropractor.  Okra Pepsin E3 which works to clean the walls of the intestine of the accumulated 'guk' (which leads to the leaky gut) and Zypan, also of Standard Process to help with digestion.  Zypan is hydrochloric acid.

Since you are an O, be particularly careful when taking a hydrochloric acid product due to your already high stomach acid according to Dr. D.

The Zypan test involves taking two with a meal and if you experience a 'tingling' for lack of a better term, in your stomach, you do not need it!  If, on the other hand, you experience no discomfort and/or tingling in your stomach and you notice that your meal hasn't laid on your stomach as long as usual, then a digestive aid such as Zypan might be for you until you get straightened out.

In any case, if or if not the 'tingling' sensation is felt, please don't ignore the best advise to CHEW OUR FOOD THOROUGHLY BEFORE SWALLOWING.  I read a Chinese saying once, I belief it was from Dr. Stephen Chang's book on nutrition and it says, "Drink you food and chew your liquids."  Think about it.  It appears to be so important to mix well our saliva into whatever we're 'downing'.  I'm mainly preaching to me.

Much success to you!

Good job!

I take ARA6, Intrinsa and Polyflora.  Great products!  I also take a 'Digest' by Enzymedica with each meal.  All of these things have really helped heal my gut.

Okay, I did look up the "Okra Pepsin E3" online and it appears to have avoids for type O.  The digest by enzymedica looks promising.  Thanks again.

supplements may be helpful.  In long term, make a fresh vegetable juice every day at home to built your enzymes, rather than depend on supplements which won't strengthen your own body's ability to produce enzymes. doing a 24 hr or 36 hour fast regularly rests the organs which in turn make system more efficient. Eat more earlier in day, and preferably before 5pm so that organs can rejuvinate in evening and at night, sleep will be great and deep too!

Type As have the digestive enzymes and bacteria it takes to digest grains and plants that other blood types might have a rough time breaking down.

Excess copper interferes with zinc, a mineral needed to
make digestive enzymes.

Once again, to each their own and BT/GT has all factored in the guidelines
