I had made some bean soup a few weeks ago to put in the freezer, but it just didn't seem to have it all together. I decided today to have a container of it for lunch and was wondering what I could add in the way of a spice or herb or something that would make it more palatable. I happened to think of Lola suggesting more than once to add peanut butter to soups, so I decided to try it after all this time!

I was very surprised that the effect was not in the least what I expected! I thought I would taste peanut butter, but I didn't taste it at all even though I mixed a tablespoon in the bowl. But it was soooo good and exactly what the soup needed!! Never seen or tasted anything quite like it, but it was delicious! Super delicious! Anyone who hasn't tried this and can have peanut butter, should! I wouldn't be surprised if almond butter and other things such as tahini wouldn't be delicious too. Thank you, Lola!

I've been in the mood for soup for weeks now.  Of course, now it is as hot as haydees (sp) here but still it makes a nice meal.

I can have peanut butter (and I love tahini) but never in a million years would I think to put a tablespoon in my soup.  I, too, would believe it would overpower the soup but you say no.

Thanks for posting this.

And kudos to, Lola, as always.
