Since I started using Internet Explorer (instead of Chrome or Firefox) this problem hasn't happened.

The data loss also happens in at least some versions of IE. I have not tested it in all versions, but most recent versions also lose data.

Usually the data lose is related to collapsed sections.

Collapse sections you lose data. Don't collapse sections and data is preserved.

It is bug and hopefully will be fixed soon.

If you leave the data intake form in SWAMI, with a section collapsed SWAMI will erase the entries you made in that section.

If you stay on the SWAMI data intake form you can collapse and expand sections without losing data. But if you leave the page you lose data in collapsed sections.

If you do not collapse a section and you normally do not lose data.

You collapse a section by unchecking the checkbox beside the purple arrow.

If you uncheck that box the next time you open SWAMI you will likely find that "Do you have a history of cancer or neoplasia" and "Do you have a history of bowel or digestive problems" are no longer checked even though you did not uncheck them.

The lose happens only when you save data and leave the form.

If you stay on the form, you can collapse and expand as many times as you want. The data will still be there.

On Chrome (my main browser), I have left sections open, then logged back in and found sections collapsed.  After reopening sections, sometimes data would be there, and sometimes not.  I don't use Firefox with SWAMI, so have nothing to report there.  So far so good with IE.  I always leave sections open with IE and so far they remain open and data untouched.

i have tried leaving the section collapsed and open, it makes no difference.

i spoke to bob a while ago about this and he was sure it wasn't a problem. very odd.

Well, Bob may not think it is a problem, but it certainly is to some of us. It has happened to me numerous times.

I've never had it happen with Mozilla Firefox.

To fix something one needs to be able to reproduce the error.

So far those those that argue that data loss is not related to collapsing menus have not provided enough details that I can reproduce their problem.

Essentially if an error cannot be reproduced it is not fixable.

You need to provide more details Version of browser (including the numbers not just IE ...), What operating system.  What is checked and unchecked. Operation that you perform that results in data loss. ...

I was about to say the same thing

In Chrome is happened twice, however. That's why I changed to Firefox.

Firefox drives me crazy. I don't like things in my face all the time that has nothing to do with what I'm trying to do with my computer.

I don't look at SWAMI unless I have to - it is easier on my blood pressure!

Bob has been able to reproduce the error now so he is working on a fix.

The problem is not a bug, but rather the evolving nature of browsers as they move from one release to another. The updated SWAMI XP2 does not use collapsible menus, but we can either disable the function or see if there is a hack for use in the current version.

I favor disabling in current release of SWAMI Xpress and focusing on getting SWAMI XP2 finished rather than getting this feature to work in the current version.

I think we can live with this problem until version two comes out. Actually, I looked at mine last night and all my entries were still there. One computer can drive a person crazy - a multitude of them could only be worse sometimes!

The collapsing menus feature has been disabled in SWAMI Xpress, this should eliminate the data loss problems in SWAMI.
