In looking up some foods in the data base I came across this term, and when I tried to research it I realized that this forum is the place to ask for more info. It refers to bacterial overgrowth in the gut that can lead to lots of health problems, but of course most of the info on the Net is not Blood tpye savvy, and so often the information isn't really useful to those of us on these diets.

I got interested in this condition because I have been helping a young friend I believe has this problem. She is an O in her early 20s who has been mostly vegetarian all her life, and has lots of digestive issues and respiratory allergies. She has begun to get off wheat, and is seeing some positive changes. I have got her on fresh nettles tincture which really helped with the allergies, and so she is beginning to trust some of the other stuff I have recommended.

So are there folks here who have had success with reversing the conditiion and what did they do? I thought perhaps a quick and easy first step might be lactose free acidophilus caps. When her gut acts up she gets pretty desperate. We're to have lunch and a chat tomorrow-- she wants me to come up with 3 days worth of meal plans so she canget some relief. Since I think there's some inflammation I suggested cherry juice etc...

I would recommend Dr. D's probiotic verses the standard one size fits all acidophilus.  Dr. D's probiotic is targeted to Type O's, and it contains the major strains that are present in the healthy Type O gut.

I would also recommend she take ghee, if she can't afford Dr. D's intrinsa.

Sharing with the best of intentions.

Have her concentrate on eating Type O beneficial foods only.

Depending on how bad the flora imbalance is, she may be better off with Gastro-D for a month initially, then Polyflora O to rebuild the gut.

I used to have allergies every spring and fall and would take zertec, nose spray, and sudafed everyday for weeks during these times and still could barely breathe and I was inside except to go from car to building.  I'm outside all the time now and don't take any of those medications and was thinking today how wonderful it is to be able to really enjoy such beautiful seasons again.  The BTD did it for me and each year I eat this way I seem to get a little stronger.
