I would like some recommendations about supplementing for stress.  I have a very stressful career and am having stress/anxiety symptoms.  The stress is chronic and cumulative over the past 13 years.  

I was looking through the supplements list under Stress Relief, but did not know which one might work for me.  I need to support my nervous system, but I also need to be awake and alert for my job.

I use the Type A Basic Pack and the Mythyl 12 Plus now.  I am also looking to order the protocol for Arthritis.  Would this be taking too many supplements?

Any recommendations please...

The best stress relief for me has always been several deep breaths with some brief stretches and an inner focus to relax.

Tranquility Base was always my favorite.  Exercise also helps to burn off stress, and helps with sleep, too.

I take NAP Cortigard, as well as Bach Flower essences: rescue remedy, white chestnut, aspen, and mimulus. The flower essences help me to quiet my mind so I can sleep (I wake up sometimes several times in the middle of the night from my own thoughts).

Hi Vivian,

I always take Cortiguard as a supp. 2 caps in the morning. When stressed I do exercise in the gym. So good to get rid of the adrenalin  (cortisol in type A). Also deep breaths and meditation most of the times work for me.

The best thing I think is going outside, walk or bike in the polder closeby. Nature really claims me enormously.  
Try to observe your anxiety without emotion. A's are so absorbed in their feelings, emotions, I can relate to that. You are not your emotions.

For breathing as a item to feel better at any moment, breath the way a woman in labor does.. short breath out only.. no need to inhale deeply as that is near impossible when upset.  Instead just breath out like panting, allowing the quick oxygen exchange in the lungs and ultimately in the blood and brain.

The body will breath in on its own, you can not prevent that, but by panting you reduce your 'labor' of lifting the whole chest every time you try to relax.  It is counter intuitive to do so.  

Just sit there, or stand or walk, and just breath out as many times as you feel comfortable doing it in short panting breathes, .. One way to learn to do this and learn to see the instant endurance it gives you is by swimming in this way of breathing..

Then, in a few seconds, let the body relax you from the inside out.


Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

I'm suggesting this test only if you're dealing with a weight problem AND in addition, have stress
because depending on your specific body type, your stress might be addressed with greater
personalization if you've got two issues.

My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant.  Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index.  DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer.

I took this a lot for a long time.  I forget the name of the company but it's a gel cap.  I guess it lowers your cortisol levels.  But that Dr. D one might be good too.  I'm not sure what's in it.  

Oh wait, I remember the brand.  New Chapter.  It was powerful stuff.

I wish you didn't have to have a stressful job.  It's not good for your health.  But if you can also learn how to not let it stress you, that would the ultimate.  But that there is always way easier said than done.  So I'm not saying you're doing something wrong.  A lot of jobs are just pressure cookers and there's not a lot to do about it.  But there might be some way to block it mentally and emotionally.  Not sure how though.  I was never real good at letting my job not stress me out.
