I was telling a friend of mine your story. She is Blood Type 0, unknown secretor status and does not follow BTD/GTD, but is considering it from your success. She takes glandular thyroid medicine. Did you start experiencing symptoms that were unusual because your body no longer needed meds? Does one have to go off the meds for awhile and then do tests to determine if it can work on its own? Thanks. |

Dianne, I just had blood work done to see what my thyriod was doing. Before I had always been at the high end of normal - then I pushed up into the high range - so I was being tested regularly already to monitier it. Then because I had been having such great results with everything else she went ahead and tested me again and my number was good. I will get my thyriod tested in 6 months to make sure my number is still good. My over all health has improved and I have been loosing weight as a bonus I had no specific signs - but some people do. |

Congratulations ! I am working my way toward Vegetarian, before I think about Vegan. You are an inspiration. I too will be happy when Swami allows a vegetarian option for us Warriors. Keep up the great work |

As a Warrior, vegan has really made the difference for me. I know I feel healthier and happier being vegan - I do on occassion "cheat" and don't feel well after and regret "cheating" later. I would love to say I am perfect and never cheat - but life happens and hidden ingredients happen. I just move on and know that the next meal/snack will be better. It does annoy me when you ask a server questions and they don't answer them correctly - I won't say lie, because I hope it is just that they don't know and are too lazy to check. I have had servers that have been extremey helpful and gone way beyond to check and make sure everything was good for me - I tip extremely well for them. The biggest thing is listen to your body - the two biggest warrior cheats - my guilty pleasures - are chili peppers and popcorn - still vegan but not warrior. My occassional slip ups in being vegan are usually hidden ingredients in sauces or cheese that isn't listed on the menu. One example is I found out Panda Express uses chicken broth in just about everything - even things you wouldn't expect it in - so anyone out there that chicken is an aviod - avoid Panda Express. One thing about Vegan or being on the BTD or SWAMI diet you have to read labels - menus are harder to navigate. Never be afraid to ask questions. |

Congratulations VeganWarrior!
I'm and Explorer and have been vegan for almost one month and feel really well. I would like to continue w/ being vegan and could use the help w/ the SWAMI. How can one get a report from the SWAMI Geno Type or the SWAMI XP2?
