I was thinking that it might be a good idea to try the Basic Pack O and combining it with what appears to be my Geno Type the Explorer Pack. Has anyone tried this? Just want to make sure it won't contradict anything? To me it seems like the best of both worlds. Strengths for my blood type and the stuff to help clean up my system for my geno type? I linked tth 2 below Basic Pack O and Explorer 3 Pack.

Basic Pack O: Polyvite, Polyflora,Phytocal and Deflect.

Explorer Activator, Catalyst and Fish Oil Formula.

Thanks,
Rex

Hi ReMI

Some of the Genotype supplements are so GT specific that I think you'd be wise to go SWAMI. Many here have seen their GT change when the more precise calulations of SWAMI were applied. If you have specific medical concerns or a family history of serious problems, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor by going with Swami. Otherwise BTD is fine, and getting your secretor status would be the most important step forward. If you're a nonnie, it makes a big difference in how your body reacts and processes food. The food lists will be different to reflect your nonnie condition. Very important, IMO.

Thanks, I do plan on getting my secretor status and doing SWAMI in the future. I bought the supplements last month with the Exakta in it and I have found them to do well for me. I have done really well on the BTD for Type O and I have had liver toxicity and issues that run in line with the Explorer Geno Type and I tested Explorer with the basic measurements and blood type. That's why I was looking at combining these 2. The detox effect from the Explorer and the Type O Supplements to strengthen.

I also have the book Change your Genetic Destiny, that's what I used to do my measurements and come to the Explorer type.

To the best of my understanding, taking supplements for the "wrong genotype" (of the possible options for your blood type) isn't harmful. It may not be helpful (if you're supporting body processes that don't need any help) but it shouldn't cause any harm.

There are also times when it's appropriate to take the supplements for other genotypes. For example, the Explorer supplements are designed to support liver health. These supplements can be helpful for people of any genotype who temporarily need liver support.

No problem with taking both GenoType and BloodType diet supplements at one type.

If you want to keep things more in the GenoType realm.

Take GenoType 3 pack.

Take the GenoType multimineral (replaces Phytocal)

http://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GTMULTI-M

Take Exakta (Replace Polyvite)

http://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NP052

Take the Polyflora probiotic.

I sometimes take Activator or Catalyst or Oil from one of the other GenoTypes when they contain the ingredients that I want.

Before I used SWAMI, I calculated a different GenoType. I used three packs of the GenoType diet I was following. These worked fine for me at the time.

Thanks for the input everyone.

C_Sharp I appreciate that suggestion. I started out looking at the Explorer pack and then I thought I need to include a multivitamin, so I thought Polyvite, (I'm taking Exakta now and it works, but I do not like the fish taste) and then I kept reading rave reviews about Deflect so I was going to add it also, and then a multi mineral and it just seemed that the most economical way would be to do the packs. I might try your suggestion though, the Exakta really seems to work well for me.

The multipack is discounted and taking the items from both the GenoType and Blood type kits has worked well for me.

One thing I do, that may or may not work for you. Is when I am taking a number of supplements is that I cut the recommended dose of each in half. This can reduce the expense considerably.

Good point C_Sharp. I might try that. I did that with the Essentials vitamin pack for a couple of days but I feel better with those when I take the recommended doses.  Thanks for all of your helpful insight.
