Hello All.. I don't know if I have the beginnings of RA or if it's OA going through my body but if I list Arthritis on my Swami... can I then trust that it's giving me the right foods to eat to help fight this?  We just moved across country and I am coming off two weeks of extreme coffee and sugar use (with a week free of coffee and cream now), and so there is truly a big DAH in my head about why I'm completely flared up at this stage.

So I'm going to get back on my Swami and see how it goes.  I'm tempted to get the Arthritis BTD book but my Swami should take care of me in this regard without having to buy that, correct?

Thanks so much.

Yes, SWAMI will factor this into the selection of foods.

The reason to the book would not be for the diet plans (since you already have a SWAMI diet plan), but for the explanation of the disease and the dietary approach to treating it.  SWAMI does not have any discussion of Arthritis or what foods are selected to treat arthritis rather than for some other reason.

I do not have the arthritis book in front of me, but many of the health series books have a list of the top 10 foods to treat the disease, SWAMI does not give that.

The BTD Encylopidia should cover that right.. as far as 'treating' the disease?

Typically, the Encyclopedia describes the disease and provides supplement protocols that will help.  It usually does not go into great detail (as much as the Health Series book) about the proper foods to focus on to alleviate the symptoms...

I haven't looked at Arthritis to see what specifically is written.

I haven't tried this, but you might run SWAMI with Arthritis checked and unchecked, not changing anything else, and see what changes in your food lists...  It MAY provide some insight...

have your found a difference in your healing 'reaction' or just your preference in food choices offered?

Oh SWAMI offered way more choices but my body doesn't tolerate a lot of foods so it was a poor choice for me. I would also recommend a food diary marking all foods eaten, time, symptoms, workout schedule, supplement and the like. This was the only way I was able to really weed out the culprits.
