I need some advice here... I just received my midterm grade and I did not do so well. However, this was during a stressful time and I did not eat much meat at all and I am wondering if any o' s have felt better mentally when they incorporate meat back in their diet. I am starting to question alot of things about how smart I am, but I know something is lacking in my diet.... could it be just that I need more food overall or is it the meat? I am so tired of analyzing and then being stressed. |

If you haven't been eating the appropriate food for your own body, it will definitely affect your clarity and memory. Many people have talked about how their brain fog lifted when they changed their diets. |

I need protein, for a clear mind and to retain information. I tried the oatmeal breakfast thing, I felt fine, and was usually full till lunch, found I couldn't remember scriptures that I should have. So I went back to eggs and veggies for breakfast, as well as salmon, sardines, or left over meat or poultry for lunch. I keep veg. protein for dinner. My mind is much clearer, My swami gives me 5red meats, 4fish, 2 poultry and 7eggs weekly. The key to my mental health is definitely protein, and red meat or eggs seem to help me the most. I usually have them on my bookwork or studying days. |

I should add, beef is only neutral for me, but is what I eat most often. I do get lamb three or so times a month and will be enjoying (hopefully) bison for the first time tonight. Lamb and bison are diamonds |

I don't function well at all without red meat. On a daily basis I need to make sure I get enough protein, but over the course of a week I also need to make sure I'm getting enough red meat specifically. |

I need some advice here... I just received my midterm grade and I did not do so well.
You are starting a new academic program. Often times in academic programs are intentionally designed to make people feel stupid in the beginning. There are a number of reasons why this is done. I will just mention two. 1) Sometimes it it is necessary to be really tough in the beginning so students get the idea that they really need to study. And not just blow everything off and assume they can just get by by sitting through lectures or looking at the book for half an hour prior to the exam. 2) Sometimes there is a need to weed out people that should not be in a program. So you are tough in the beginning and then when the crowd thins out a bit you can slow down a bit and focus on the remaining students and what they are struggling with. |

From my own experimenting I find that the following help with study for O's eating right for your type including half a teaspoon of ghee personally I have a teaspoon every day with my breakfast and cook with it when ever I can. olive oil, half a teaspoon of flax oil and or fish oils for omega 3. an egg a day - DHA protein turkey, beef very little grain. very little sugar. good sleeping habits, good exercise habits (walking a lot at the very least) healthy surroundings trees, beach, greenery, sunlight. kind thought sand actions. I should point out that the response is pretty quick and works from 4 year olds upwards. |

Thank you everyone for the support.
I am going to stop working part time and this might help with my anxiety about time management.
Also, I am back to the more protein lifestyle, and just have to go with it. I did hot yoga this evening and then had a HUGE piece of cod with veggies, but was still hungry, so I had a small piece of salmon. Finally.... I felt satisfied. However, I only ate a small greens salad with 1 egg today and I bet that is why I felt so out of it and drained.
I also have not had any meat since last Saturday, so this was a big deal. PC- you are correct, I need more sleep for sure... working on it.
As far as the program itself, this makes sense, however, I am going to believe I will do well and I can make it through regardless. I am tough. I am going to focus on all the positive things and not get weighed down by the negative.
Hopefully, the more beef and fish I eat, the better I will feel. Done with sugar for now, in my case, this was fruit. Never grains.... or at least not until I get more stable to try them again.
Off to bed now and thank you all for being so supportive, I really need this right now.

My experience, there's NOTHING better for copious mental energy throughout the day like starting your day with juiced greens... and a portion of freshly cooked beef!!!! .... There's nothing else like it.
I'd like to share a specific experience of mine of 30 years ago. In October 1982 I was about to attend what was a very popular encounter weekend at that time, named 'the EST training', which contained tremendous amounts of input and required the highest power of concentration. I had then Adelle Davis' book "Let's Eat Right to Keep Fit" (1954), which gave me the idea to start the day with a beef steak in order to gain the mental power I needed. At 6:00 AM, before going to the gathering, I prepared steaks for me and my partner (no harm done, he was an O as well ) , with stunning and unforgettable results. My mind was exceptionally clear throughout the day, no brain fog, and I very easily understood what it was all about with a better sense of humour then ever. What better could I ask from life? |

EAT RIGHT and the rest will follow.. you have the answer.. learn from it.. you will not regret it..
You are not the only one to question.. that is a good thing.. but when the answer stares you in the face.. then it is time to learn and follow through..
Good luck, /// one failure is not worth fretting.. //do the next right thing and all will be OK.. all the best!!
You might wish to try Trehalose Complex (Dr D) to clean up brain debree and make you feel better.. take it for 3 month.. or more.. |
| Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU! |

Hot yoga is not good for your joints. I like Dr. D's "antentia" and take it every morning along with 'cortigard' (which is for As, I'm sure there is something similar for Os). It's been a really rough semester here too, not just for me but also for many of my friends. Hang in there! Eat the foods you need! I'm glad I'm not 4!, but I wouldn't mind being 35 |

I find that academics, as opposed to education, is extremely stressful... which, in turn, shuts my brain down. Hope your case isn't so dramatic, but don't forget to get plenty of exercise & take time for things you enjoy |

I see Goldie already recommended Trehalose Complex. That might help and the Catechol will definitely help with the stress. B12 might help too. I still struggle with the sleep.
Good luck. |
