All these years, critics said that my anthropology theory about ABO blood groups was all wrong. Now, a new study implies I might have actually gotten it right, after all. Interestingly, the lead researcher's previous studies were alway the references used to disprove my theories.
Quoted Text
Functional A and B alleles are distinguished at two critical sites in exon 7 of the human ABO blood group gene. The most frequent nonfunctional O alleles have one-base deletion in exon 6 producing a frameshift, and it has the A type signature in two critical sites in exon 7. Previous studies indicated that B and O alleles were derived from A allele in human lineage. In this study, we conducted a phylogenetic network analysis using six representative haplotypes: A101, A201, B101, O01, O02, and O09. The result indicated that the A allele, possibly once extinct in the human lineage a long time ago, was resurrected by a recombination between B and O alleles less than 300,000 years ago.

When I think of science I am always struck by the ups and downs.. Einstein was sure that his math would advance science. and then he wished he could put the Genie back into the bottle. The Egyptians had advanced in ways we can only imagine, and yet the dark ages happened .. At least the stone age people left hard in stone paintings.. what edifice to science will we leave when the next plague hits and all writing on paper will go by the wayside? what tablet will tell about BTD? What will the future make out of it? I love the fact that we here at BTD at the very least had the good sense to know the differences between us here and meds.. to you Dr D. |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |

I still stand in awe of how much we have learned about taking care of our bodies using this way of "thinking" and seeing the results with our own eyes!! I'm starkly reminded of it when I talk to people who have tried everything under the sun to stay healthy, EXCEPT THIS ONE, nearly all their lives, AND THEY ARE STILL NOT HEALTHY! It is as if we are speaking an entirely different language. Some of them are very close, but yet so far away.....
Are there any other ways we haven't thought of yet to express our appreciation? I'm scratching my head....... |

I just purchased the Genotype Diet book for a O Neg friend of mine who keeps having trouble with her tummy. Her daughter is overweight and they are all trying to figure out what's wrong. She went on the apple cider vinegar diet and was doubled over within 24 hours. At that point I said.. 'what blood type are you?' when she told me, i said.. "NO VINEGAR FOR YOU!" And that's all i said. I wrote her an email and said.. I'm sending you two books that changed my life..and I didn't tell her what they were. The other book I got her was The Mood Cure. When people tell me they are having trouble with this or that... I have no idea where to begin to try and tell them what to do.. so I felt the best approach was to just send the book! Thanks Dr. D for all your work. Don't know what I'd do at this stage if it wasn't for this to come home to. I've dabbled for years but now I'm totally committed. I've tried everything else - why I did all that, I have no idea.. I guess I just didn't want to feel limited and wanted to feel I could eat what I dam well pleased! But that ain't so and since I've come to know that feeling good is like being rich, well, I'm now choosing life instead of a slow death. Onward to my roast dinner! |

I don't think 'extinct' is quite the word that fits there, more like 'latent and not expressed in function' Evolution apparently has a 'back' button, at least in some situations. A can develop into O and B which in turn can revert to A given strong enough pressures from the enviornment. |

Yes, I remember you stating that at first, O and A started out exsisting at the same time in ancient man. |
