Hello all, I am new to the site so forgive an unintentionally wrong placement of my question. I am currently making my own Lyposomal Vitamin C (google or Youtube for details) and pleased to be creating such a potential for health and healing for pennies (cents!).
My question relates to the two types of fats that one can use with Ascorbic Acid; one being Soya, the other being Sunflower Seeds. I have opted for Organic Sunflower Seeds (Lanes) but now note it is contraindicated for me, being an O Blood group. Any help, ideas most welcome. I have read somewhere that I could substitute dried egg yolk but would appreciate any thoughts on this.
I don't seem to be having any ill effects from a months usage but then again don't want to risk setting up a health problem. |

Can't you just make liposomal C using Rose Hips or acerola berry powder instead of using ascorbic acid?
It's a simple process..
3 T of lecithin added to one 1 cup of warm water .....put into blender and blend 30 seconds or until well combined
1 T of vitamin C crystals added to 1/2 cup of water -- Add to lecithin mixture already in blender and blend till well combined.
Pour mixture into an ultrasonic (jewelry) cleaner and set timer for 6 minutes.
Refrigerate.
The electronic vibration of the ultrasonic cleaner helps the lecithin create a lyposomal barrier (encapsulation) around the C which (supposedly) allows for greater absorption of the C when ingested.
This to me is sort of a different version of the membrane fluiidizer....which is essentially allowing nutrients to enter with greater ease through the cell wall...(which often can't absorb nutrients effectively because cell wall might be stiff/hard for someone in poor health) The lecithin softens that cell wall....and will encapsulate the C and allow it to get inside the cell with greater ease.
The oral liposomal C is a cheap alternative to using intravenous C drips. (the proponents of this method are saying this is true) I don't know if it is or not. Just saw many videos on youtube. And have bought and taken lyposomal C before in pill form.
Living 9.....an alternative to using lecithin from soy or sunflower seeds would be egg yolk lecithin. Nature's Plus makes a capsule form of egg lecithin. There must be other brands as well.
Here;s some info on the purpose of liposomal C in case anyone is interested.
Liposomal-C uses ascorbic acid powder and lecithin for a lipid delivery system, by encasing nanoparticles of nutrients (herbs, too) in a phospholipid membrane or “liposome,” allowing safe passage through the gastrointestinal tract without degradation. Thereby avoiding the destructive forces of the gut so that Liposomal-C can be directly absorbed into the blood stream. “Lypo-Spheric Lecithin-Vitamin C” permits 90% ascorbic acid to get into cells, because cell walls are made of fats and normal Vitamin C is water soluble, while regular vitamin C is only absorbed around 19%. Vitamin C encased in liposomes is claimed to be far more absorbed approaching or exceeding intravenous Vitamin C, but it is less expensive than IV C treatments. The traditional form of Vitamin C, in tablet or capsule, is subject to a host of factors that can oxidize it, neutralize it, adulterate it, and even expel it before it ever gets to the cells that need it. The Liposomal-C because of their nano size and composition, provide the perfect transport system. |

Thanks Lola. Must find out what 'running a personalized swami' constitutes as new to the site. Appreciate your reminder about Corn. Would avoid it irrespective of which blood group? |

At least it's not capsulated. http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/egg_yolk_powder |

depending how corn or its derivatives rate for each individual, according to subtype, secretor status and other health issues......personalized variables have all been factored into swami |

In Blood Type Diet, corn (and all corn derivatives) are avoids for everybody except A secretors. On GTD and SWAMI, individual results can vary; some A secretors don't tolerate corn while some people of other blood types can handle specific corn products.
Not everybody reacts badly to corn-based vitamin C; some people just aren't that sensitive to trace amounts of corn (just how much corn lectin is left after the process of isolating ascorbic acid?) Others react badly to even trace amounts of avoids. I personally avoid anything potentially problematic (only buying the one brand of pineapple juice that has no added vitamin C) while I'm more relaxed with my kids' diets. |

And I want to make a correction on my above post saying cell WALL when I meant membrane. The cells have membranes, not walls..
