Hi,
Should I take Flaxseed oil, omega 3 fish oil from Salmon or wild-caught Mediterranean anchovies. Flaxseed is a diamond for me. wild Salmon is diamond. Salmon oil is black dot. Anchivy is avoid. no anchovies oil listing. I asked a few months back this question and was told take flaxseed oil.
My nutritional practitioner says I need to take Omega 3 "fish" oil and flaxseed is not enough.
What should I do?
Thank you |

Take krill oil - It is unrated so neutral and it supplies you with astaxanthin.
There is fish oil from other sources than salmon and anchovy.
I have not seen your SWAMI, but nomads often do well with cod, herring, mackerel, and sardines. |

I take Omega 3 oil and also use Flax seeds which I grind up as it stays fresher than flax-oil which can go rancid quickly. Lin |

See if you can find a fish oil from compliant fish. How do sardines rate for you? |

I think that is the best way to go. I have never bought ground flax seed or flax oil but I have heard it is "flat" (rancid) in much the same way that ground Pepper is. If you buy your own seed and grind it up as needed you are guaranteed a fresh quality product otherwise you are taking your chances. It is not like it is difficult or time consuming and is certainly worth the effort. |

I also have Salmon Oil as a black dot and Salmon (no farmed for me) as Diamond. Sardines are also a Diamond. And Flaxseeds.
Even though Flax oil is a Diamond, I no longer buy it because it is so quick to go rancid. I fresh-grind golden flax daily and eat 3 Tb in my smoothie, along with 1 Tb of freshly ground Chia. And I no longer take Salmon Oil Capsules.
I'll take a Cod Liver Oil Capsule semi-regularly during the cloudy season. Otherwise, I eat cold-water fatty fish 5 times a week. |
