Hello, I understand that vinegar is not recommended for A's. I was wondering though if some apple cider vinegar with "mother" is beneficial when sick. It is supposed to help with many ailments and was wondering if it is ok for short periods? Thank you |

Here is why: AVOID: Flocculates serum or precipitates serum proteins. What reason do they give for using it when sick? I suppose the 'mother', which contains acetic acid bacteria, might be the basis. Why not get your beneficial bacteria from other sources? |

"Flocculates serum or precipitates serum proteins."
The easiest way to explain it is to say that your body has an "Immune response" to that particular Lectin.
"Flocculates" means flaking and clumping together. Normally this happens when a foreign Antigen is destroyed by an Antibody like when you get sick and your body fights off a virus or bacterial infection.
These Lectins specific to your Blood Type can cause this type of response. |

hmmm - not sure about this one, I do have a little ACV sometimes in a salad, but with some people, maybe the vinegar drys out a person's insides, observe how your system works, if you seem bit dry (with daily bowel motions), then not to much vinegar; maybe a little more of fats/oils; or some seeds/nuts which have healthy oils in them. Also, one can eat cultured vegetables, like saurkraut (any vege can work); or miso if allowable. Lemon juice, olive leaf extract or raw garlic may work too - guess it depends on what is causing the problems or imbalance. hope you feel better soon! |

Apple cider vinegar is OK for O secretors, but not for O non-secretors (nonnies.) If you don't know your secretor status, it's generally recommended to start out following the secretor diet.
