I just found the LR4YT at Half Price Books yesterday. Of course I didn't have time yet to read the book because I need to know what to eat. But in the bottom of how much you can eat for which race, it kept mentioning a category MM

Can anybody tell me what it means?

Well MM subgroups can either be: MM or MN or NN.  I am an MN ... you need to have a blood test done to find out what you are ... It is like the subgroups of A... you can be A1 or A2 ...

I sure hope my mom didn't fool around with somebody. How can I be an AB when SHE was an AB?

Very good question...  Normal genetics would indicate that you should be either A or B, but not AB...  Of course, it would not be the first time I have heard a typing error...

An AB can pass on an A or a B to each offspring. An O can only pass along O to each offspring. The biological child of an AB and an O can either be A or B. There's no other possibility.

Since your mom was an AB and your dad was an O, and your'e an AB, there are four possibilities here:

1) Your blood type was tested incorrectly (unlikely since you've been donating blood.)

2) Your father's blood type was tested incorrectly, or he mis-remembered learning his blood type (most likely.)

3) The man you know as your  father is not your biological father. As far as I'm concerned, your "real father" is the one who raised you, regardless of whose sperm got your mother pregnant. This could  be due to adoption, sperm donation, rape, alien abduction, an extra-marital(or pre-marital) affair, or hospital mix-up (swapping newborns.)

4) There was some kind of random genetic mutation when you were conceived. This is by far the least likely scenario, though still theoretically possible.

I agree that the A and the B are dominant to the O, but your Mom can only pass on 1 allele.  So she either passed the A or the B.  You would have to have gotten the other A or B from father...

There are a number of possibilities, but an AB needs to get the A from one parent and the B from the other...  So an A and a B, an A and an AB, an AB and a B, 2 ABs are all possibilities.

Amazon is an ND   (naturopathic doctor)

My dad was an AB my mom an A. Both children are A's. A being the dominant gene. I have a recessive O gene from my mother, which produced an O son. His father was a Bo. Ao + Bo = O. I also have a B son.
