Help....what does it all mean..... Am not supposed to have protein at night.....not enough stomach acid.... Am kicking the commercial almond milk habit after drinking it every night..... Need something creamy and lightly protein-y somehow? Am frantically making poached egg yolks to mix into a sweet potato w/ghee.... Telling myself "you can have a big breakfast TOMORRROW!" is not working..... *Insanity*...... |

Viva la nut butters!! Nut butter on a baked sweet potato is a delicious and satisfying evening snack. |

haha! It's nice to be around a few people who actually think the food I eat sounds good. So many of my friends shake their heads at the way I eat. |

Seraffa, Maybe take your B12 earlier in the day? - I actually thought all B vits were better for restful nights that way Are you using any magnesium for calm and rest? There is a mag supplement with 'calm' in its title, not sure of the brand. |

Cravings are there for a reason!
Also, I feel that occasionally eating things not good for you (not to say protein is bad for you) can keep the immune system on its toes so to speak. Just like some stress is actually good for the body. |

Canned pumpkin is creamy. You can use your imagination and do something with that. Sometimes I add it to oatmeal with nuts (along with cinnamon and maple syrup or stevia). Or you can leave out the nuts and just eat it with the oatmeal which I think has some protein in it (assuming you can tolerate these things). |

I take a package of silken tofu and blend it in a mini food processor with about 3/4 of a can of pureed pumpkin. Depending whether you've used soft tofu or firm, you can adjust the pumpkin. Add some pumpkin pie spices and any type of sweetener you can have....I've used agave, date sugar and even some softened (in hot water for 30 minutes) dried dates (3-4) and added it into my food processor. Refrigerate.
I've also added some chopped nuts to make a topping...Might satisfy your craving for a little fat, a little protein.....all from plant sources.
There is also a version of this pudding I make without the pumpkin but use either carob or cocoa powder...I've also mixed in some almond butter or peanut butter...and a few dates. A totally different flavor. But both are really yummy. |

I like that idea, pumpkin is a great source of fiber too. |
