Coconut oil is touted as having many health benefits. Is Dr. A'damo still listing it as a food to avoid for type O people? If so, why? |

Swami is great, and I must be one of the ones who does well with that "soap" as coconut oil is a superfood on my swami. |

It's a superfood on my SWAMI. It was only neutral on BTD.
On the basic BTD, only O nonnies can have coconut oil. On SWAMI, many people of various blood types have coconut oil as neutral or better. |

Same for me... I know I tend toward a sluggish liver, so the "soap" must help clean mine out... |

It generally gives me a headache. I cook with it once in a while but don't like the way it tastes. Coconut oil is a warm climate food and possibly many Os are from cold climates and this is the reason coconut doesn't work. |

Coconut oil is a neutral on my swami but the coconut meat and milk are avoids. I have only used the oil on my skin or to do "oil pulling" for my teeth. Many on this forum have said it really "cleans you out" so I am a little hesitant to eat the oil. |

I had my experience with coconut oil controlling my systemic candida infection (or infestation, should I say...).
I know people had issues with my posts about coconut oil but I was only writing about my personal experience as a nomad who benefits from ingesting coconut oil. Unless your GTD or SWAMI says coconut oil is okay, don't use it. I will never go against GTD or SWAMI ratings.
As for those who can have coconut oil - a little goes a very long way. I had to do my "extreme" candida purge for good reason and I owe it all to coconut oil. It was difficult. However, in hindsight, I would not have had it any other way. I would do it again with coconut oil if I had to... |

I should get SWAMI. Once again wondering if I should use this. It just occurred to me that my reaction to it coils be candida related. Otoh I have good digestion sometimes- think I've eaten some gluten contaminated nuts recently. |

Quoted from 18285
Is Dr. A'damo still listing it as a food to avoid for type O people?
Coconut oil is a full-on avoid for me with SWAMI, even more definitively listed as an avoid than it was with BTD. As such, I've completely removed it (and all coconut-related products) from my diet. Coincidentally, I used to use organic coconut oil to a degree but wondered why I didn't necessarily experience any of the touted health benefits that so many others were seeming to have. And I really like coconut, especially with dark chocolate. (: Maybe I just don't have enough genetic inheritance from areas of the world in which coconut meat developed as a staple food source. I've replaced coconut oil in my diet with organic ghee from grass-fed cows and homemade butter made from raw, soured cream. Especially ghee seems to provide for Hunter Os many similar benefits that coconut oil provides for other BT/GTs. Too, I also include a variety of my diamond superfood oils, e.g., olive oil, but ghee works best for cooking.
For me, this is why ghee is similar to coconut oil. I copied the following excerpt from the website of Pure Indian Foods (my ghee of choice as they make it from certified organic milk from pastured, free-graze cows. Too, they're a fifth-generation family business started in 1889 that manufactures ghee according to time-honored traditions, e.g., it is made only on the waxing, Shukla Pakshha, or full moon, Purnima, days which are considered auspicious in the Vedic system) ...
Quoted Text
"Ghee is a healthy saturated fat that contains fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients our bodies need. Along with Vitamins A, D, E and K, which are critical to bone, brain, heart and immune system functions, ghee is an abundant source of conjugated linoleic acid – an antioxidant that destroys free-radicals, is an immune booster and a friend to cardiovascular health. It also contains lauric acid – useful in fighting fungus and candida ...."

I am glad people found my experience with coconut oil controlling candida helpful. I will start a new post but I found that controlling my estrogen dominance helped keep the candida under control permanently.
After my coconut oil cleanse, if I had sugar, wheat (avoids), or other starchy stuff, I would have a mild yeast infection. I started using natural progesterone cream and tried having a bit of sugary stuff and NADA! No more candida, period!
Progesterone cream + 100% compliance (diamonds) was my solution to most of my issues. |

even a little bit of coconut oil (or even coconut) can make me have a reaction/healing reaction. My mum has always been a coconut fanatic and following a large consumption of coconut the previous week, once expelled a gut full of live worms after getting car sick! A little goes a long way for me - even eating a teaspoon at the beginning used to give me a sore throat. I then really got into coconut water which was lovely and very soothing for the stomach! now that I have gotten used to the oil a bit, I don't really notice the effects of it too much, so long as I stay below 10g a day or so it is glorious in stir fries and I like to bake with it too - from cakes to rutabaga fries! I only really cook with ghee or coconut oil now... it is nice to know I'm killing parasites and viruses at the same time |

I was on progesterone cream and added some oil of oregano. I saw this huge pile of white stuff when I went to use the potty. I am suspecting it was either candida or some sort of crazy parasite.
They are all gone now and I am feeling a lot better.
Wishing every single one of you GOOD HEALTH!!! |
