I have a question for the practioners on this group...in gtd/btd pork products are toxic whether they are organic or not. My thyroid medication is Nature Throid which is from Pig thyroid gland. Is this toxic? Should I go to a synthetic thyroid medication? |

I found a thread where Lola said to switch meds because Nature Throid/Armour is from a pig. Everything else is just opinions. Can anyone say what Dr. D's opinion is on this type of medication? I have to take some kind of thyroid medication. Not sure what to ask my doctor to give me. |

Unless you are allergic to swine then it is probably more a function of how effective it is...
I am A- and have been taking thyroid natural supplements because it makes me at least half way normal. It would be a mistake not too, and this diet is not changing things to make me dependent from them right now.
I wish there were protocols for thyroids or something. It seems largely ignored. For many GT's just eating right solves it, but not for me. |

Care to share what those thyroid natural supplements are? |

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I think this is a good place to put this. I saw on the Dr Oz show that when you get dental x rays that you should have your thyroid gland protected. I asked my dentist if they do this. They only do it for children but they will gladly do it for me. |

I think the supps make my prostate shrink or something, whatever can make you pee stronger if you are a guy, it does. My voice is a bit deeper too. I think it balances my hormones better. |

That book was written in 2002. There is nothing more current written by Dr. D about the thyroid? |
