Aw, come on. You know you want to come.
So what's one or two foods you'd really like to nibble on that you've deprived yourself of for months or years?
I had some black pepper tonight. It was delicious. Now I'm ready to quit it again. |

what a coincidence, I also had black pepper, first time in a long time, but it was a few days ago. It was good! I still like red pepper better! |

I too had pepper last night for the first time in a long time. It was on a bite of pepper steak while I was waiting for my chicken. I did not care for it one bit. My throat was burning and I had edema big time. |

Here is what my "dream" meal would be: A brick oven pizza...the thin crust a perfect ratio of crunchy and chewy. The sauce a sweet tomato basil with a hint of spiciness. The cheese would be a mix of fresh mozzarella, parmesan, feta and goat. There would be giant slices of tomatoes, roasted garlic and basil leaves placed on top....drizzle of olive oil, pinch of sea salt and oregano.....Paired with a fruity, spicy Merlot..
For dessert a decadent slice of tiramisu with an espresso laced with frangelico and baileys....splash of Jameson....

oh I like this heading... pity.. owauhhh what a treat.. but today I have only to feel sooory for me that I have a big belly and my pants fall down.. why do they turn over.. I mean why? and I still have to attend one more luncheon .. but today should be the end .. then it is going to be a cleanse and a serious evaluation of how best to drop some pounds.. There has to be a way that this can be done without walking 20 miles with on army back pack going up hill. I am not sorry for all that I ate, wrong foods and right foods, but I do pay a big price. So now after 2pm (and the last of the funeral) today it's over and with it the pity party too. I am looking forward to getting off this 'time out' chair. Enough already. Great post for 10 minutes 'time out' then back to basics.. I am going to make my own 'pure' cajon spice in my own bottle.. glad you all reminded me. red pepper is best.. question is red pepper the same as cayenne ?? |

Pizza sounds good - any really good bread - like a piece of a fresh baguette......It's been at least 15 years since I've knowingly had any wheat. The things I cheat on are sugary. I found these very expensive gluten free cookies at WFs. They really don't have any bad avoids for me but they are very sweet....made by a company called Aleia and they are almost $10/bag....but SO good. I also love goat's milk cheddar and I eat a lot more than I should of that.... |

I miss coconut more than anything else. I've been dairy-free for so long that it's second nature to me, even if it's something I keep stopping and starting. I don't really miss milk at all. But I've used coconut milk as a creamer for so long- that rich, creamy flavor and mouth feel- yum!
I also miss goat milk yogurt and kefir. I always felt good after eating those. |

Lobster, king crab, potatoes, fried chicken (actually anything fried) good Italian bread (gluten grains), pizza, yogurt, cottage cheese. (I get lots of hard cheeses but I prefer soft ones).

Potato chips with sour cream and onion dip! I love potato chips and they are the worst thing I could possibly cheat on, don't really miss anything else. |

I don't eat sweets or even want them anymore, but for some reason I sometimes think about fudge-covered graham crackers. I think, though, that it is more the memory that goes with them than the actual food itself. When I was about 3-5 years old my mom would take me shopping with her to a local store run by menonites. It's a cool place because it has that old time general store kind of feel to it. Sometimes she would buy fudge-covered graham crackers, and I'd eat one on the car ride home. One time at that store my mom bought me an ice cream sandwhich, and by the time we left the parking lot I had made such a mess with it that my mom had to stop the car. ah, memories I still shop at that store, but I leave the cookies on the shelf. |

PB&J, cold cereal with milk...
Both major childhood favorites of mine......I miss the sqishy squash of PB&J, I would load the bread with so much PB and homemade strawberry or raspberry jam I would have to cut it in half because it would be too heavy to pick it up! MMMM...cereal.....the icy cold with the crunchy crunch.....the other day I was desperate for some type of cereal so I took plain soy milk, frozen blueberries, nuts and flaxseeds....made a good substitute....lol |

upnorth, your pizza.....sounded just too good....and with the merlot! I am having a glass of awesome chardonnay right now...which I indulge in regularly... let's see....I frequently indulge in ...a bit more dairy than I am allotted, but almost always goat or sheep. I never eat grain....I had an ice cream bar at a fair the other day....it had been months...or yrs...it did not bother me at all....(they are quite small) |
