I googled and everything I get seems to be an additive for skin care or cosmetics.
What am I missing?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated! |

I was able to buy it at a drug store here. I read on the bottle that it is good for unproductive dry persistant coughs. Does it really work? Has anyone tried it? Can any blood type ingest it? This time of year my hands crack and bleed. Someone on another forum told me about rose water and glycerin. Since I have been using it, I have no more problem with my hands. |

I use it (internally) as it's a super food on my SWAMI. I especially like it with flax seeds and cinnamon (and water). It's got a unique taste, though. I can't put my finger on it, but the sweetness doesn't seem to linger like cane sugar does. |

Thanks again Lola. How interesting. I would never have thought it used as a sweetener. I cant imagine ingesting it because of the texture when I use it on my skin. I have only know of its use as a soap. Have to give it a try. Learn something new every day. |

In Australia I have always found that "Health Food" stores usually carry one brand or another. Many do not know that it is a sugar substitute so I try to educate them. I like Melrose brand which can be ordered in here. When all else fails, I have sometimes found small bottles of v.g. in regular pharmacies where they are placed for cosmetic purposes I think. But the smaller the bottle, the more expensive it is relatively speaking. |

Walmart- in the cake decorating area (tubes of icing and vegetable glycerin near each other) If you see wedding cake decorations you should find it. |

Did not care too much for the taste. I could not find glycerin in our health food stores here. They are probably temporarily off the shelf receiving a din #. I was disappointed to find out that with the gtd, I will no longer be allowed brown or white sugar. I came up with several delicious compliant muffin recipies and now they no longer are. I need a dry substitute compliant sugar. Cant seem to get on the gtd section of this forum to see if there has been changes since the book.. |

Huh, I got the impression it was a close sugar substitute. If it has a different taste, I guess not. Maybe Agave nectar. |

For me (and I don't object to the taste sensation) veg gly is a super food (sf), whereas agave is a neutral. I've recently become enamored (again) with barley malt, which is a diamond. The consistency of honey, but much less sweet (I've been off cane/beet sugar for 5 months). |
