I have been advised to try Emily on Neocate Advance or Neacate Active. So I am looking into these products to give them a try.

Have any others especially O Non Children used it

or indeen any others as this may effect other blood groups too.

I will post ingredients ect when i have studied them a bit more.

personally I'm happier for Emily to have broccoli but they could be useful as a treat in school where every other child is eating yogurts all day lol

No problem Amazone, Emily , my daughter has had strange reactions to food from a an early age. she is still not yet 5,

she is diagnosed now as havng fructose mal absorption

Igg allergy to milk protein.

chemical sensitively

very sensitive to aspartame.
sensitive to beef
sensitive to chicken.

so her diet is somewhat limited. she is currently on a low fodmap version of swami/BTD. and doing fine as long as she keeps away from a lot of foods.

a gastro specialist suggested that we try NEOcate active which is a drink without milk protein or it has a special enzyme in it that helps apparently. i haven't finisdhed checking what it is exactly as i have only orderd the stuff an don't pick it up until next week.

she also keep sgetting a recurrent cough / runny nose. which is upsetting her it's almost like whooping cough but not quite so bad.

so i want her to be as strong as i she can. hence always pushing the boundaries on her food.

she is almost totally allergic in some way or other to too many carbs lol not much fun for child.

as a side issue when she eats fish it makes her pee smell terrible. so she soen't get a lot of that either.

I am trying to get it all sorted as quickly as possible so that it does not become more of an issue than it already is eith both Emily and her little Friends. I have spent years researching everything and anything as the doctors here were happy to just give her steriods and crams for her skin eruptions, and antibiotics for her infections.

an example would be that her nicknamein nursery was "Emily red face" some might say this is not a worry i would disagree. also other kids teased her that she would explode if she ate anything nice at a party. that took a while to get over too.

apart from this she is a lovely well mannered caring sensitive child that is not spoilt in anyway except an abundance of attention and love. she is a beautiful child. and now (after a lot of trying ) is finally Beginning to put on weight - she is still only less than 18 kilos but she is not nunder or over weight so there are some consolations.

oxo

Bring Emily to Connecticut for the conference and see Dr. D as a bonus.

PC that stuff seems wrong to give to anybody... I see people push Ensure on the elderly,

Looked up Neocate.. and wouldn't ya know they put ARA6 in it, wonder who they learned that from.

Are you giving her any ara6/larch?

I can see the point of giving formula to infants who aren't able to get breastmilk (or aren't able to get enough breastmilk) for whatever reason. I can understand giving formula to toddlers who aren't able to get breastmilk, can't tolerate the milk of other mammals, and who aren't ready to get all their nutrition from solid foods. But I'm not quite sure why you're adding formula to the diet of a 4yo who's been doing fine without it up until now.

Of the ingredients in there that I recognize,  glucose syrup is a fructose-free form of carbohydrates (sugar), I see a few kinds of oils (I think safflower is an avoid for Os, I know coconut is an avoid for O secretors but fine for non-secretors, and canola is neutral for all Os.) I see a bunch of amino acids, which are probably fine for an O (alhough I don't knwo what theyr'e sourced from or how they're processed) and I see ascorbic acid, which is most likely corn-derived. I'm not sure of the origins or compliance of the other vitamin or mineral ingredients- I know for sure the D3 is OK and the ascorbic acid is not, but the others I haven't really researched.

I also know that formula generally  tastes and smells terrible, especially the kinds with amino acids rather than whole protiens. I had a friend with a baby who needed a special formula, and IMO it smelled like vomit. A great many people have trouble getting older infants to take hypo-allergenic formulas (if the baby was on soy or milk based formula before but not doing well, or if the baby was breastfed and for whatever reason they wanted or needed to add or switch to formula.) If you feed this stuff from birth, the kid will drink it because it's what they're used to (and newborns will drink whatever you put in their mouths.) But I can't imagine that Emily would even want to drink this, and certainly not as a special treat at preschool.

Considering her issues, I'd keep her away from this product just because of the safflower oil and the ascorbic acid. Can she have homemade almond or hemp milk instead?
