hey everyone,

my 3 month SWAMI reset period was 2 weeks ago   however last week i had a trip to the ER with abdominal pain, racing heart, thirst and frequent urination...

bloods were all good... so was urine. they gave me a suppository and some weird meds and sent me home.

so, i am not the type of person to go to ER for constipation!!
i requested & had 2 ultrasounds, and found an ovarian cyst... apparently these are generally harmless but I still have a heavy, tender left side, and feeling a bit light headed / drained, as if I have had a virus washout. (have had some diarrhoea since)

since i have been doing SWAMI i have been having about a tbspn of extra virgin organic coconut oil with my green tea / nuts as it is a diamond (and genoharmonic) for me. maybe I am overdoing it or have not entered my info correctly as it really is the only major change apart from no coffee/ wheat..

so, from the female balance protocols I have some vitex and magnesium.. will try find some lutein as Dr D mention the ovary has a liking for that...

anything else I can do before seeing Dr with all results on Friday?

think I wil stop the coconut oil for now too...is that a good idea?

It is possible that these are detox symptoms and it may be better (less dramatic) if you cut the beneficial input a bit...  The body may "request" more though so it can continue to clean the junk out...  It is hard for me to recommend specifics for you, though.

it may have nothing to do with the coconut oil...I believe its estrogenic ...try hormone balancing protocols...from NAP.

I've had ovarian cysts in the past, and I even had one burst when I was 21 (I was hospitalized for that one.) Those things are PAINFUL!!!! I never had any of the other symptoms you described though- just the intense pain in the ovary (plus vomting and diarhea with the cyst that burst.)

I can't remember what I did for them, as this was all long before I found BTD.

I know you've been on SWAMI for 3 months- but what was your diet like before that? Were you on BTD or GTD prior to SWAMI, or were you eating "badly" at that time?

carbs are good / low - especially the last month or so.
If it is detox I must need allot of detoxing.

fingers x, am onto the hormone balancing protocol - well the parts I have avail, vitex, hibiscus tea and mag. may pick up some chamomile tea too, oh and the lutein / carotene I saw mentioned here.

it sure is painful!

I will be looking at the ultrasound on Fri, and I will look out to see if it is fluid or fat filled cyst - apparently thee are different types..

thanks for your helps!!

I have also been thinking about the warm castor oil packs and wonder if they would do any good on the left side (where the pain / cyst is). Wonder if it is possible to try drain the cyst like this...

Does this sound like a stupid idea?

It sounds like a very good idea to me. I don't see how it could possibly cause you any harm, and it just might help things to heal faster. If nothing else, a warm compress is going to be soothing.

Honeybee, you might want to read various natural cures for ovarian cysts from people who have tried many different protocols.  Of course, blood type wasn't considered here...but Earth Clinic often has
wonderful information.  http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/ovarian_cysts.html

My first thought was PCOS...which is a blood sugar related issue.  I was also wondering if you ever measured your blood sugar to know if you're pre-diabetic.

The castor oil pack sounds like a good idea to me as well as the hormone balancing protocol but
if you're dealing with a blood sugar issue, then cystic ovaries would best be handled by getting
blood sugar under control. For that I would recommend Glycosia.  http://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NP056

thank you Chloe! good links too.

apart from the vitex, mag, cranberry (vit c, fights bacteria in the bladder too) hibiscus/rosehips tea and chlorella, I picked up some lutein, chamomile tea, and iron of all things - the person i spoke to in the hfs said i looked iron deficient even though my bloods were all okayed by MD, she said they usually only look for things that really stand out in the ER (she looked at my inside bottom lip and said under my eyes is very white and pale).

the iron tab felt good. i was able to stay up later and awoke early... may try one every few days or so as i have tried cooking liver and gave it to the dog instead. i realise you must be careful supplementing ferritin - also the ultrasound showed my liver (and all abdo organs) are in excellent shape (thanks BTD / Dr D.!!)

the pain is an issue, there was no white willow bark avail, may take some aspro later as the salicylic acid may also have a cleansing action on the cyst - like it does on skin / acne?

does anyone have more from the encyclopedia?? (am ordering mine from amazon - will take 8 weeks to arrive)

the castor oil pack is still an option too - just need to get prep'd for that, am re-reading the GTD book on that, am a lil concerned though as it would mean the cyst would perhaps be dissolved, or, dislodged and passed

thank yu Lola

i am amazed at how i am feeling today, the heaviness has eased - both physically & mentally, pain is gone, energy back up @ approx 85%

not sure if the combo above is working its magic or my body is healing quickly, or both maybe?! i am allot less depressed about it too, not too cocky yet though until the visit to GP on Friday for results...

anyone else going through similar, it is depressing and debilitating, i know, but there are things you can try, more rest then usual has been essential, some yoga poses that send the blood to the pelvis (Viparita Karani ), visualisation even...

Honeybee- where are you in your cycle? I've had cysts that hurt starting around ovulation and then cleared up on their own after a few days. I've also had cysts start around that time that lasted for weeks, and I often get ovulation pain that lasts 24 hours and then doesn't lead to a cyst.

The point I'm making is simply that sometimes cysts dissolve on their own after a few days even without the targeted healing you've been doing over the past few days.

honeybee,

I'm glad to hear you are feeling so much better already!

I myself have an ovarian cyst on the left side too. I never thought about the issue of it bursting! Sounds really scary to me.

I follow the female balancing protocol to some degree. Have done the castor oil pack about three times this month... ideally I would like to do it three times per week but something always gets into the way. It is very relaxing to do it though and I highly recommend it. I remember that after the last time I did it, I was able to ovulate (a rare thing since I had developed the cyst). So it must have done something positive. Do give it a try!

Hope you continue to feel better and better.

why not call NAP you get mailed the same day day..  also its pure that way..

glad the iron helped.. but infection can show as color differences.. so pls careful .. and know that changes today are not forever..

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Honeybee- where are you in your cycle?

well, am due tomorrow... so guess it started / flared up around ovulation beginning of last week...am hoping it is a normal one that just takes care of itself, however the pain and fever were excruciating / scary.

@balletomane thanks for your input, keep an eye on yours

@goldie if i were in the US i would NAP it... what color differences are you ref to? under my eyes have always been pale - especially since the rosacea really makes it stand out.

Just an update...

I went in for the ultrasound results on Xmas eve and they said it is a complex cyst.

Had been worrying and remembered over the break that in my pilates class we sometimes do what would be considered 'inversions' (that is what they are called in a yoga class...) and the pilates instructor does not ever mention inversions and menstruation like a yoga teacher would do... so sometimes I would push myself during class thinking it may have been unnecessary to worry about inversions around that time if you feel ok to do them and the teacher never instructs people who are menstruating not to participate in inversions.

Got me thinking though, maybe inversions really do make gravity unable to do its job correctly when it comes to letting the flow go 'downwards' ...maybe doing the pilates bridge exercises the day period is due, or even during a period, could have caused old blood and fluid to accumulate at the ovary and a cyst develops?

I have been sticking with the vitex, and have an appt with a gyn later this month... am worried about surgery

think of your carb intake before you discovered BT/GT diet and your nonnie status.....
also all the avoids you consumed unknowingly, throughout your life......

this lectin free approach you are now following will be highly beneficial....
also follow the protocols.

if you get a chance, the encyclopedia has great strategies to follow
