I came here for a while and investigated the diet and read the forums. I stopped coming here for three reasons. 1. Someone was getting very rich from this diet idea and it wasn't me. 2. there is absolutely no science to back this diet but its more about forming a culture/religion. 3. Every time I came onto these forums it seemed like people were ill. Its so depressing reading about all these sickly problems. Why are you all so ill btw?

Today I heard a news flash on the UK national radio station, warning people about the possible dangers of this diet. Its been a long time coming but lets hope the ball starts rolling from here.

I should think this post will be removed but it matters not because I won't be darkening your doors again.

Point 1)  I am not sure where you are getting this. But since you say you are gone, I will not spend my energy debating this issue.

Point 2) Science: http://www.dadamo.com/science.htm

Point 3) I came to the diet because I was ill.  The diet has helped a great deal with my health concerns.

I came to this way of life because I was ill for YEARS.. but you will never read about this as you are gone..

and if ever you get ill you would know where to come to.. but until then, please continue your way of life wherever you feel more comfortable.. we have good reasons for being here.. you may indeed only have visited to spread your thoughts and that is Ok for those who have need to do so.. we who are healing and feeling well have no needs for such postings.. so all the best to you..

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Point 1: I hope you do stick around to learn, and I'm sorry you have such a negative view of Dr. D'Adamo's work right now. I hope that this thread does not get deleted, and it will serve to educate you, as well as "lurkers" who are reading but not posting. Even if you never change your mind, the questions you raise, and our answers, may help others who read these public posts.

Point 2: True, there isn't enough science yet to "prove" that this works for everybody, but there is lots of science behind all this.  It may take a few more decades before the conventional medical community is satisfied with the level of proof available, but I'm taking control of my health and my family's health NOW.

Point 3: This is true of every website out there. People doing well with whatever the subject matter is (diet, breastfeeding, parenting issues, crafting, etc) don't have much reason to post. Those who need help with something are the ones who do the posting.

I have a chronic health condition. It greatly improved by following the blood type diet, and it improved even more with my personalized SWAMI computer program.  But I still have a lot of healing to do. Sometimes I forget how far I've come and complain that I can't get things done, when I'm already doing so much more than I would have even considered doing pre- BTD.

I also have my children on the BTD, even though they're all healthy. All 3 of them have more stable moods- and I notice the difference when they eat off-plan occasionally. They also don't seem to get sick very often.

Point 4: I'd be very interested in hearing about this "health warning" you heard about on the radio, if it's available as an internet link. I'm sure we could easily debunk the information if we could see what they based this "warning" on.

about what goes in their food nowadays, and taking control of their health!!!

fast food going bankrupt!!!! wouldn t that be a dream come true????

sorry you have such a poor opinion of this lifestyle we have chosen to follow....
hope you find the lifestyle and health alternative to fit your needs and issues, if you happen to have any

hope you are still a vegetarian and will remain one eternally....
seems to be working nicely for you!!

This is just a "no" for now and not a "no" forever.  I'd like you to consider your post as a call to action.  I believe you were not trying to make Dr. D wrong but you are still interested in knowing how the science works.  I hope you hang around and see what happens.

Actually, this is where I go full hardheartedly with Dr D theories.
This is about optimizing nourishment not only for your body but for your brain too.
The right diet provides many benefits, including improving learning and memory and helping to fight against mental disorders like depression, mood disorders and even dementia.
Brain fog will hopefully become a thing of the past

are you bipolar by any chance????????

1) I for one sincerely hope Dr. D is very rich from this diet, I know for a fact he is rich in the love he receives from the people he heals.
2) to quote Dr. D (who may have been quoting someone else) Only a fool needs a double blind study to prove it's raining.
3) I'm not sick, I came here because I love the crowd that hangs around here. I went from yo-yo dieting, never quite loosing that 10 to 15 pounds extra I was carrying around to a very happy-with-myself size 4, body fat % of 10, with not really much effort except to follow the plan.

Seagypsy, poor thing!!! .... obviously whatever you have been doing instead of following this path, has been fogging your brain big time!!!  Stick around a bit longer, learn and  persist and you will soon free yourself of those mental conditions that are stopping you to think clearly, mental condition resulting from whatever else is out there ...

There are plenty of us here wanting to help you ...

One thing for sure, if you decide not to stick around and give this a try, you better start saving $$$$, because what your body is exposed to out there and what is on offer to try to fix the damage, will certainly cost you a lot more in $$$ and suffering, than this wholesome, nutrition based according to your uniqueness lifestyle ... To each their own ... is your choice ....

I don't believe that Dr. D. is a scammer getting rich off of the gullible.  I can smell that kind of rat from a hundred miles away, and he is not that.  I think if you gave your O BTD a fair chance you'd see the benefits, but that's your choice.  I'm not going to argue or try to convince you.  I'm not sure what axe you're really here to grind, but I hope you are able to resolve whatever is actually bothering you.  Maybe you just need some attention.  Or maybe you ate too much wheat today.  I've notice it makes me paranoid, jumpy, and have strange thoughts.  Seriously, I'm not trying to goad you - I'll bet you ate wheat today.  Hope you feel better soon, seagypsy.

2. there is absolutely no science to back this diet but its more about forming a culture/religion.

That is a very inaccurate statement. If you wanted to claim there are no studies behind the diet then I would say yes, that is true. What you are stating is more of an insult to yourself by proclaiming your own ignorance and fortitude towards understanding a diet that you once tried.

Further more I am almost certain Dr. D is not getting filthy rich but by all means go make your own diet that truly has no science behind it and see if you can get someone to publish some couple dozen different books for you. Oh and uh it is no surprise that people with health issues would be attracted to somewhere that is constructed to help solve them. The difference between here and other forums is many people on here have seen great remission of their problems even if they are still faced with more. Not everyone is born as healthy as others; it just happens to be.

The diet requires no strange changes in any way that is not compliant with general nutritional guide lines from any country that has a nutritional advisement program that I have ever heard of at all.

I found nothing on any UK radio station articles about advising of the dangerous. You sound like someone trying to instigate a controlled reaction. Compulsive liars seem to like to try and gather information by setting up lies for people to respond to that might offend them.

I do respect you having skepticism but keep it legit at least. Do a little bit of your own investigation before you start the banter.

Lola you are funny..
yes I thought so to..
must be all that sea air that makes her come here again.. for just a moment of clarity ..

maybe she meant to add the link to something or other.. but fog made her forget..

I love to sail with a good sailor.. sunshine and wind.. nice..

for now she is slim and sexy and has strength and determination .. lets not overlook the right for all to be self righteous..

she might not understand or maybe can't as the mind will not let her.. sometimes we need to hang on to whatever just for 'sanity' to survive the rest..

as for wanting to convert her?? heck NO let's not ever go there.. just honestly pointing out things we know to be so for us is no where near the same as seagypsy 'trying to convert us' to her way of eating.. fish is a good thing and if in the ocean you also eat the liver and brains.. who knows what is in there.. I hope its all top floating fish, nice and clean eating .. happy sailing .. to the next port where surely, she will check in again..   mermaid like..

Yes I realize that is possible, maybe just someone trying to tout vegan/vegetarianism with a side of "hard science" and "balance".

I however think discussion over the merits of something as opposed to blind faith is healthy. Unfortunately no one ever brings up good criticism.

May I say something?

We have no idea why Seagypsy posted what she did, eventhough in the past she contributed to this board as well. All we can do is, in a calm and rational manner, refute her claims. But let's leave it at that.

Maybe she talked to someone who was more convincing in his opinions... to each his own. We've all have dealt with a situation like this; when you desperately want to try to make someone listen because we all experience the (obvious and proven) benefits of this way of life. But we all know you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

If she wants to return, she's more then welcome, until that time, just let it go.

There is MUCH criticism placed here for many things,
..................................................... and some people leave..

People here ask questions and many get answers..

many complain on the rigors of this way of life, and then they chose to support it verbally here, or to slink away..

many have issues and just cant follow this life style and find it hard, find it to hard to follow, they complain and rant and still some stay and make it better for the next one.. no matter who they are.. self proclaimed experts or just mere hungry mortals..

some find solace in the struggle knowing that without it it they would feel worse..be ill.

the only objections I have is for those who follow the diet half way and then fail to see results, and then blame the diet for their shortcomings.  when I fail it is my failure not the diet.. it is I who eats avoids..

there is nothing wrong doing this way of life -half way.. but then be honest and express the truth, in defeat or triumph- but never blame the rest of us who have found merit in what was written, researched, experienced, lived with and struggled through.. we learn as we go..

IN AA only 3% make it.. here maybe only 3% make it to stay the course, but 3% is a legion that carries the effort forward and improves upon it, tests a theory, returns for more learning in acceptance of what some offered, while rejecting some other suggestions..

There is NO blind following here, no hero worship, no blind faith, no single believe system, just appreciation for the combined effort of all posters, scientific testers, and the efforts and suggestions made by Lola and Dr D.

It is a place free of any charges, no money made here, no mention of membership for the sake of collecting names, no selling of emails, and no pressure to buy anything.. references to libraries are everywhere.. and no one asks who you are, what you have in your bank or what degree or credentials you have, no one even knows who is what nationality, or religion nor race.. all is discussed and all is reviewed on its own merit, and if something is wanting you get to hear that also..

so criticism, let it keep on coming .. we are alive and well .. despite it all..

as for bad mouthing .. mostly about people and doctors who took from us many dollars and much hope and left us worse of then before..

or about how sorry we are that we can not share this easy with loved ones.. and then we are advised to just allow all INDIVIDUALS be them selves!! including the nay sayers.. who would rather drink the purple cool aid, then think for them selves..

and really some actually do have NO need to feel better- they already do.. so why come here??
